Good morning Nanto and all who drop in later. I was also hoping for some good news from Gem, but I'm sure we'll hear from her later. I guessed your SIL would get over her sulk - my mum used to say "she'll come round without water". I hope new mum and baby are ok and are soon over Covid. Fresh rhubarb - yummy.

It's cooler and cloudy here at the moment, but at least I can take Eva out without having to check the pavements first.

No particular plans for us today. We were going to go to see DS1 and DIL for the day, but someone we were with on Wednesday has tested positive so we're not taking any chances - we'll see them another day. It does give me a bit of time to get some gardening done and no excuses for putting off the ironing today.

Good morning Nan2, Daisy and everyone else.

No, no baby news so far this morning.

We last heard from SIL late last night. Baby and DD were fine but DD very tired. Things were still going slowly.

      Hoping for an update soon.

This afternoon I am going to see my mum. This morning I need to pop to a couple of shops in the village.

Daisy, best to err on the side of caution when visiting your DS.

Nan2, good to hear things are back to normal with your SIL.

When I have news you will all know

        Morning ladies

        Nanto
I bet SIL feels silly now but at least she’s came around .
Let us know how they are when you phone xx

        Daisy
It was the first thing I looked for when I got up to see if any baby news 😁
Its very dark and damp here but warm
We have Dog staying tonight , DD and SIL having a night away for SILs birthday treat
nothing much planned today I’ve done my cleaning I have a little ironing to do but not much ,

Forgot to say yesterday when we were leaving MILs just before we got in car B remembered he hadn’t put her bin out for today ,
we leave it at the top of the steps and bin men collect it and put it back .
So B went back up the steps Togo get it from back garden and MIL said to me ,
Oh I remembered but I was just going to let you drive away then when you got home ring you to come put it out 😱

Considering we live 20 minutes away ,
B said well you wouldn’t have had it put out for being so silly you would have had to ask the neighbour as I wouldn’t have came back
I mean what was she thinking 🙄
don’t you just love a awkward old lady 😂

        Gem

Gem - I hope you get an update soon. I do hope things have speeded up and baby will be here soon. I hope your Mum's ok when you visit this afternoon.

Oma - we're all the same, aren't we! Just love to hear of our new grandbabies. Your MIL is something else again! You could write a book about her. Enjoy your evening with Storm.

Oma, I suppose she just wants your company and that is her way of getting it but what a selfish thing to think about doing. I am sure you will be spoiling Storm. I wonder how your GS’s cheesecake turned out, hope his girlfriend appreciated it. No babies today, GD and her OH are not working today.

Spent a pleasant time at the village pond yesterday, took some duck food and bought a take-away sandwich from the cafe. The young ducks were swarming around me for the duck food, there are loads of this years youngsters and even some baby chicks. One or two families picnicking but I didn’t see WG. It was very pleasant and cool. My neighbour was there having a sandwich, his wife died a year ago (a bowling friend of mine) and he walks up to the pond nearly every day, stopped and had a chat, he is very lonely.

Daisy, have you been connected yet to fast band? Very sensible not to visit DS after your poss. contact with a covid infection, the weather a bit more pleasant for walks with Eva.

Nanto, Very pleased your Sil has got over her annoyance with you. I love home grown rhubarb.

I am hoping to go to Waitrose this morning if I get a shift on. National Trust group meeting this afternoon, tempted to wear a mask. There are almost a hundred attend to hear the speaker.

Gemini, I hope things for the baby and DD will quicken up soon and you get the news of another grandchild to cuddle.

Update. They finally got onto the labour ward, having been kept on antenatal as no room on labour ward.
All ok but only 1 cm dilated! They are going to give the oxytocin drip which fingers crossed should speed things up. This is going so slowly for poor DD.

Oh Gem, the waiting must be awful for all of you. If it’s any consolation I had a drip and it did make things happen. Everything crossed for DD3. Xxx

                                Good morning Nan2.

                                No, still no baby news

Last update at 1.45 am. Things progressing but slowly. She had had an epidural so was at least getting some rest. They must both be exhausted.
I of course have hardly slept. Hard to relax when your daughter is in labour.

This morning we are going to see our music teacher friends end of year concert of her pupils work.
These have been via YouTube since the pandemic started, so it's good to support the live concert again.
We are going out for lunch with H and some other friends afterwards.

It will be hard to concentrate during the concert if no baby by then!

                                I hope everyone is well.
                                Enjoy your Saturday.
