Hallo everyone, very warm here today. I have been to the doctor and it is an "age wart", nothing to worry about, she gave me a lovely compliment, said I "glowed"!!! She also said to try and keep it like this, I certainly hope I can this time.

I have been for my hearing aids, I can hear better with my left ear but up to now everything still echo's so I shall have to see how it goes, I have them on a 2 month trial. When my phone goes I can answer through the aids!!

I will catch up on all the posts later.

Good morning Nanto and all who follow. Very happy birthday to your DS1. Is he working today?

It's warm and sunny here. All being well I shall go over to GD1's for our knit and natter day which we had to postpone on Tuesday when she wasn't well enough. I had arranged to meet some friends for lunch, but GD1 has no social life at the moment, so even Grandma and Eva are a break for her. I hope my friends understand.

I was up early this morning - unusual for me - so decided to defrost the fridge-freezer I didn't get round to doing over a week ago.

Lizzie - so glad the age wart was nothing to worry about, and what a lovely compliment from your doctor.

Gem - what a good idea for M&S to give those flowers to the charity shop. They look beautiful. and I bet the stocks smell gorgeous as well. I love having fresh flowers in the house. I wonder why DS1 is reluctant to go to his MA class. Perhaps he's just tired after a long day at school, or prefers to relax with Grandma?

Glamm - I'm sorry you have had trouble logging in to GRU. There was a short glitch last Saturday, which I think was a satellite problem which was sorted out, but otherwise I can only think for some reason your internet connection was having a "moment". I hope it's ok now. xx

Plant - OH's new car is a Skoda Superb. It's an automatic, so I'll have to get used to that again. It's very nice and comfortable. OH and both sons are talking about all the knobs and buttons and the exciting things they do - I'm not sure I'll ever remember what they all are!

              Have a good day everyone.

Daisy, I still do not know what all the knobs do on my Mini and I have had it since 2018. The GC have talked me through what they do but it went over my head and I only use the basic knobs and whistles. I hope your GD is well enough to enjoy your visit. The days and weeks must seem endless to her.

Aqua for me at 12.15, which will mean I can’t go to afternoon bowling but the bowling is outside and I think it will be too hot. Sil has found someone to cut the hedges and one or two other jobs. It is at least another week before he hears the result of the MRI scan.

Lizzie, I am amazed how easily you are able to see a doctor, the situation here has not recovered since Covid hit us.

I am going to finish up all the salad bits in the fridge today with some hard boiled eggs.

                  Good morning everyone.

Nan2, Happy Birthday to your DS! Will Carte D'Or be on offer at FarmFoods?

Daisy, I'm sure your friends will understand. Can lunch be rearranged or will they meet up today anyway. I hope you find GD well today.
GS1 is naturally exercise resistant (as am I!) unless he is on the trampoline. Also he is tired after school as you say, and would rather stay at ours (and moistly go on screens!)

Nice comment from your doctor, Lizzie.

The hairdresser is coming at 9. This afternoon I will visit my mum and OH will be on the golf course.
In between we hope to get some garden time, mostly relaxing.
We never made it to a garden centre yesterday afternoon. We just pottered about doing this and that, ending up with a game of Scrabble in the garden. We will get there eventually!

                  Happy Thursday to all.

Daisy our car is. Skoda Superb , the Best car we have ever had ,so comfy and reliable , it’s automatic too ,
B loves all the bells and whistles it comes with , I hope J likes it ,
We will be sad when we eventually change it , we have had it 6 years now .

Afternoon everyone , we have been so busy this morning I haven’t had time to sit down ,
I was in Sainsburys at 8 this morning getting MILs bits , we then went over her way about 20 minutes drive ,
Popped into Morrisons for other stuff she likes out of there ,
We then took it all to hers along with the food we had cooked her ,

B put her bin out and put clean duvet cover on for her , I usually do it but I can’t manage at the moment I still struggling and the heat isn’t helping .

From there we went to Aldi ,came home had lunch then went to the garden centre again , I bought some poppies the other day and wanted some more they look lovely , I have Red Orange and Yellow ones now ,

I don’t intend doing anything else today .

Had drama yesterday , B in shed came in with blood dripping everywhere , jammed his index finger in the hinge side of the door and almost took the fleshy tip of his finger off ,
It was still attached but just ,

I cleaned it up put Antiseptic on and I had steri strips so put a couple of them on some finger netting dressing and a finger poke ,

It bled through twice but had stopped by time we went to bed ,
No point going to Hospital and sitting hours ,where it was couldn’t be stitched they would have done same as I did

Cleaned and re dressed this morning , doesn’t look pretty but looks ok .

                      Good afternoon all.
This week is whizzing by. I don’t think I have achieved anything I set out to whilst OH is away. 🙄
However, I was invited to DD2’S for dinner on Tuesday which was lovely, and this afternoon I have to take the other GCs to the dentist for DD1, then feed them. They are older so don’t come for dinner after school like they used to, so I will enjoy having them today. Tomorrow we ‘golf widows’ are meeting for lunch. We will have a jolly time.
It’s far too hot to do any gardening so I will play a bit of scrabble on line instead.
Enjoy the rest of the day ladies.

Oma, OH’s wound sounds ghastly! Good job you aren’t squeamish!

Hallo everyone, very warm here, I have been for the bike ride with my friend, a little panic as we stopped for coffee and she couldn't find her bike key!!! I couldn't understand it at all and asked if she had put it in her trouser pocket, no pockets was the answer, no, she had put it in the waist band! We did 25 km together and she does enjoy it. All included I have done 40 km in the heat!

I am used to the hearing aids, I just have to get the knack of putting them in though. I have an idea it will be just the one but will see how it goes why I try that out.

Plant, we have never really had any trouble getting to see our GP's. I still can't understand why there is such a problem in the UK.

Gem, hope the visit to your mum goes well.

Daisy, enjoy the knitting session with GD1, the new car will be smart. Is it electric?

A glorious day here, sat in garden and then started to chop down a bush. Found a honeysuckle behind it and s plant climber thingy....can't remember what they're called! I've got someone coming in next week to cut back two very large shrubs which are threatening to take over the garden. Wonder what I'll find behind them?
Plant, I went to JL on Tuesday for some new bras. I only had to ask my way round twice! The store is enormous! Came away several pounds lighter in my bank balance!
I was invited to the local folk club last night and it was ,most enjoyable! Can't remember the last time I was out at night on my own. Strange coming back to an empty house though.
Busy week coming up, hearing aid check ( coping with hearing all the sounds I've been missing, not having to pick up the mobile to answer it, remembering to charge them up at night, should have done it yyears ago!), shrubs getting cut, loft ladder and attic boarded, new blinds being fitted and an electrician coming to look at,and hopefully fix, my dodgy wiring. Oh and I need to take ID for my DBS to a school so I can help with the reading! All systems go!
Panic message from DD, can I feed GS tonight? SiL has an MRI scan, she has hockey practice and the training is just round the corner! Luckily, burgers in freezer, quick walk to shop for buns, salad and wedges. Should keep him going.
Computer still not fixed, but have been left laptop to tide me over.
Have a lovely evening ladies x
Believe you can and you're halfway there.
