Glad you had a lovely meal with friends, too. Was it a long time ago that you worked together? The college friends and I had a good catch up about with various people we keep in contact with, and it was a bit of a shock to realise it's 20 years since we all worked together! We all did different things after moving on from college - me into photography, one in to education admin and the other into writing text books in his subject and examining.

We were up at 5.30,had breakfast.
Hubby went back to bed,said it was too early to get up.
I've just had 10 minutes sat on the patio with a coffee.
It was so peaceful,just me and the birds twittering and cooing.

Good morning, Nan to, I just imagined you twittering and cooing!!!!! I do feel a little better today thanks, a bit fuzzy but nothing like it was.

I am going to meet GD1 in the village later, she wants a new back tyre, yet again, on her bike and I made an appointment for her here in the village, we have a walk round the shops whilst it is being done. I hope I feel up to it but think I will.

It is very windy and dull at the moment.

Good morning, ladies. It's sunny here and already warm. We want to take Eva to the paddock before it gets too hot. She needs a good run, but doesn't like the heat.

Nanto - I put seed out for the birds first thing in the morning and around tea time every day. We were sitting in the garden with a cup of tea a couple of days ago and watched one single robin see off a couple of sparrows and a hen blackbird to guard what he obviously thought were his seeds. Then a pigeon came down and I thought he'd back off, but no, he flew at it beak wide open really aggressive. The pigeon didn't argue, it was off like a shot, and even as it was flapping wildly to take off the little robin was still attacking it. I'm glad your garden is more peaceful.

Lizzie, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Take it easy, especially if it gets hot later. xxx

Daisy, we three last worked together about 16 years ago I think.
It's such strange situation with our library being still in temporary conditions but the council has always pledged, since our original building had to be demolished 4 years ago, that our village will have new permanent one. As with the rest of the world, the pandemic has delayed things further.

Today I am meeting a friend for lunch, and using my bus pass for the first time!
OH is collecting her new car after golf. We may take it for a ride after that.

It’ s overcast at the moment but is supposed to transform into another sunny day
DS 1 is coming for the weekend, rather a last minute arrangement but very welcome. I have already asked him if he will help me with cutting the Laylandi hedge. I find the cutting easy enough as I have a lightish battery trimmer but it is the sweeping and clearing up that is so arduous and takes the time.
I must pop to the local shop for some provisions as I wasn’t expecting a visitor when I did my Tesco order.

Bit of a headache not a good night again think I might have to have a nana nap after lunch today ,

When we were in Morrisons this morning I bought a pk of 6 Batteries , coming out of the shop and I glanced at my receipt and noticed they had charged £14 for them
Went straight back in and even the girl on customer advise counter got a shock at the price .

Obviously wrong and I got my money back but makes you wonder how many people haven't checked their receipt after a big shop and have paid this amount

Clover - I'm glad your DS1 is coming for a couple of days. I'm sure you will be delighted to see him, and even better if he can help you with your hedge and any other jobs you need a bit of help with.

Oma - my OH always checks his receipts since he was once charged for 74 green peppers! Glad you got your money back. I had to laugh at your dream! Did I get very wet? I bet I missed with the lasso!

My bus pass had run out and I didn't have time to renew it before I came away so I have just paid 0ver 7 pounds for my bus ride

I had a lovely lunch and catch up with my friend. We each had main course, pudding, two cocktails, then a tea for me, coffee for her. The bill was quite shocking for lunchtime, but we didn't care! We were celebrating last Christmas and both our birthdays for last year and this
I messaged my friend C this morning for bus pass use advice so I knew what to do
When I got home OH had gone to collect her car so I've not seen it yet.

Gem - I saw the photos of the cocktails on FB - they looked amazing! I'm sure it was all well worth it. Did the bus pass work ok?

I was planning to do some more painting this afternoon, but one of the friends we met with yesterday rang and said she'd got a couple of hours free (her OH hadn't slept last night and wasn't feeling great) and did I fancy meeting up. So I drove over to the camp site where they're staying and we went for a walk. Needless to say we talked non-stop, and I really wish she didn't live so far away. But when we start using the caravan again we will go down to Devon, and we have also agreed to meet up half-way after the summer holidays when hopefully the roads are less congested.

Bus pass worked fine Daisy! You just tap it on a reader near the driver. How nice to have good catch up with your friend.

It was the day for new cars yesterday! Not only did OH bring home hers, mid evening we had a surprise visit from SIL2. He was passing and wanted to show us his new toy, a Lotus Elite, which we had only seen photos of. OH sat in to try it, but my knee and back would never allow it! He's very proud He had one in pre fatherhood days, and this is his middle aged indulgence. Our neighbour opened his window to chat to us after SIL had gone. He's young and is into cars and had noticed it, and asked if we would ask SIL to let him have a look next time he was here in it! So we had nice chat with him. It all made a rather boring evening fun.

I was to have a reflexology treatment this morning but my reflexologist's sister is in labour, and she is her birth partner! Their mum is one of the ex work friends I ate out with the other night. Second grandchild arriving for her!
DD3 and I are visiting my mum this afternoon. I hope she will come with me to collect GD and GS2 from school, and come back here. Last time she did that the GC were very excited
