      Good morning ladies ,

Enfys its good your joining stuff it gives you something to look forward too , Pleased you spent the day with DD and remembered P in your own way , these firsts are not easy but better when you have someone with you xxx

Lizzie never mind it will make it all the more exciting when you do get your bike , what plants did you buy are they for your hanging baskets or pots ?

Glamm should you be washing the car and lifting buckets when your back is hurting ,you could do more damage , do be kind to yourself xx

Daisy it does sound like its the chairs that cause your back to hurt are they straight hard chairs ? . we once had dinning room chairs you couldn't sit more than 30 minutes on they were dreadful . Hope the gardeners are working hard to get your lovely patio done is Eva still ok with them being there .

Gem your Aunt will be so excited seeing you both , how is she ? S is doing well with her Golf Did you have a nice day yesterday did you relax with the children ?

WG how you feeling how's the aches and pains today ? Did OH eat anything yesterday ? xx

Plant its surprising how we miss the children when we don't see them for a few days , will you see them over the bank holiday weekend ?
Good luck with the clinic, enjoy your meeting will they have refreshments to enjoy

Nanto how are you all today , how is FIL ?

Been down to Iceland Warehouse this morning just for a few bits and bobs , called into B&M for a new washing up bowl , only colour i could get was pale blue , doesn't go with my kitchen but it will do my other one was looking a bit battered .

Taking MIL out for Tea, couldn't get a table booked in the place she likes so going to a place on the river side hopefully she will like it

Its that fine drizzle here plus windy and cold .

The hot shower has helped my back a bit, but I don't think I'll get done everything I'd hoped today! Never mind, it will wait. Glamm - thanks for the sympathy. I will be careful today. I hope you soon get your MRI scan, though. All this waiting is awful.

WeeGranny - you must really have needed that sleep. You're under so much stress and it just builds, so I hope you're feeling a bit better today and the sun shines for you. xx

Lizzie - I hope your temporary bike is comfortable for you. Take care. Your poor BIL - he's coping with two big losses, and it sounds as though he's depressed. I'm sure tomorrow will be hard with being their Golden wedding anniversary. What plants did you gat?

Plant - I do hope the neighbour's family give her lots of support. How lovely the NT are getting back into gear. I just hope everything keeps going through the winter.

Oma - how is your poorly neighbour? It's probably done your other neighbour good to get out after such a long time isolating. I hope she hasn't lost her confidence.

Gem - well done to your OH for winning. Orchids are such good houseplants. I love how they just burst into flower at any time. Glad you had a good day with GD and GS2. We have to make the most of it - the holidays will soon be over.

Enfys - the sun has been and gone here, and it's gone chilly. The new social group sounds just the thing for getting people to get together again after the last 18 months. I'm glad you were with your DD yesterday - the anniversaries are so very hard. But you are doing so well, and I'm sure getting involved with a new activity will help as well. xx

Daisy I got Sedum pulchellum or 'Sea Star', that was from the supermarket, they have good plants and not expensive at all. You have to buy them when you see them or they have gone by the next visit. The ones from the garden centre are alpine plants for on the gallery side, always windy there so they don't last long. For the pots Oma. I hope your MIL enjoys her tea, with nothing to complain about.

              Good afternoon.
Such busy people! This is from the slattern who’s cleaning fairy has just said she won’t be coming next week as her much loved cat is on it’s last legs and she can’t bear to leave him at the vets. Neither could I. I have every sympathy. OH can get his pinny on and set to.
We have friends coming to lunch on Sunday, one of whom is gluten-free. I found a bag of gf pastry mix in the cupboard and on reading the instructions I saw it was 2 years out of date! It has now turned into an experiment, not for sticking bricks together though I considered it, but I’ll make it and see how it turns out, we don’t have to eat it of course but if it seems crispy enough I’ll buy a fresh packet.
We went to feed DD2’s cat yesterday and halfway there I realised I hadn’t got the key! I was not popular. Well I was with the cat when I finally got there. 😸 I have a nasty feeling that a fox has been in through the cat flap. The auto feeder dishes were out on the floor and licked super clean and the mat was all topsy-turvy. I know they had been in the garden as they had managed to open the food waste bin and the contents were everywhere. I’ll see what’s what this afternoon when I go.

GM could you smell the fox ? maybe it was a kitty friend who came to party while the Humans were away
Let us know how the pastry went , if it was rock hard or decent after 2 years hahaha

Oma - our earlier posts crossed. I do hope MIL enjoys her tea, although it sounds as though the weather won't be up to much for you. I'm sure your neighbour feels much better no the cast is off her arm. She sounds as though she's very resilient.

Grauntie - I often do a straight swap with recipes for Gluten-free, although sometimes I find I need to add a little extra liquid. (Although I've never tried Scotch in a chocolate sponge, which would be interesting! ) The only exception is pastry which I buy ready-made, although I'm sure it would be better home-made if I could just get it right! Your poor DD's cat - terrorised by marauding foxes and starved by Granny! I'm sure you're forgiven though. I do like Oma's idea of a kitty party though. Poor cleaning fairy. It's so sad losing much-loved pets.

Lizzie - I had to Google Sedum Pulchellum Sea Star - they're very pretty plants, but sounds as though they are pretty tough as well. A good buy.

Our living room is clean - for the first time in several weeks, I think. I might even get the hallway done as well.

I hope everyone's day is going to plan ok.

Daisy, hope the back is easing up.

Gem, well done to OH's team.
Hope auntie had a good time at the farm shop cafe.
It will be a nice change for her.

Glamma,a pity your friend can't visit, but there will be other times.

Enfys, good for you to joining a new social group.
                    Hope you enjoyed it.

Oma, new washing up bowl, how exciting.
Hope MIL enjoys her tea out.

Been rather chilly here, not had any sunshine.

Dad is doing ok. We ring him every morning, even when we are going round.
Then we ring him again about 6 in the evening.
We got him a lifeline medical alert machine installed yesterday.
They had one before, but he had it taken out because they never used it.
We have told him this time it stays.
Myself and my sister in laws cleaned/disinfected all the NHS disability aids that mam had.
Will ring them on tuesday to arrange for them being collected.

Mil enjoyed her tea , she had Chicken curry and we had the best Fish & chips ever , very fresh and hot

She did have a moan that there was too much but she still made a good dent in it .

Oma - better that your MIL moaned about having too much, rather than too little! With fish and chips that good, I bet you and B will be going back there.

Nanto - glad your FIL has got a medical alert machine. It gives you and your OH some peace of mind. Well done for organising to get the medical aids back to the NHS. I remember years ago when my DS1 dislocated his knee, we took the crutches back and were told hardly anybody bothers to return them! Such a waste.

Enfys - how did the social group go today? I hope you met some nice people and enjoyed it.

Grauntie - has your OH set to with tickling stick and sucky up thing yet?

Plant - did you enjoy the NT meeting? How did your warfarin appointment go?

I did clean up the hall and almost finished our bedroom as well - all was very much needed. OH spent part of the afternoon going to the building suppliers to change the sump they had delivered for our new soakaway but sent the wrong one. The patio flags weren't the ones we'd ordered so they have to go back and the right ones won't be here till Wednesday. Still, I think there's plenty of work to keep the men busy tomorrow. They say they're going to work Monday as well. We'll see. The old patio looks enormous now all the big pots and seats have been moved off. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished.

Nan2, I hope you manage to get those aids picked up. We had to take the things my mum had back to the hospital ourselves, no one would pick them up!
I hope you enjoyed the social group Enfys
Lots going on at yours Daisy!
Good to know MIL enjoyed the meal Oma.

We picked auntie up and went to the farm shop. Very busy and an hour to wait for a table!! We drove round and found a little tea room in Kirbymoorside, with a handy parking space just across the road . We got the scones jam and cream we had been hoping for. Very nice and we will try the farm shop another time. Apart from at her son's house down the road and the little bistro on the complex she lives on this was aunties first eating out experience since before the pandemic. She enjoyed it very much.
We had a coffee with her when we dropped her home and made a date to see her again next month.

I have to be at the library for 9am tomorrow. Something else I have volunteered for!! So I may not check in here until the afternoon.

                            Night all

Morning. We've got some sun this morning.
Only supermarket shopping this morning. Getting a few bits for dad as well.

Good morning, Nanto and all who pass by later. Does dad cook for himself, Nanto? How is he?

No sun for us at the moment, but it's dry - that's the most important thing for us with all the garden work going on.

My back feels a lot better this morning, but my foot is very painful. It's been hurting for a while and is a bit swollen - I think I've bruised or sprained it somehow. Ice packs and Volterol gel seem to do it good, but I haven't got time to sit around resting it at the moment.

Gem - whatever you've volunteered for, I hope it's fun and not a chore. See you later.

What is everybody else doing this Bank Holiday Saturday?
