Nanto do you dread what Hubby will come home with ? if we go B always finds some rusty tool to clean and put amongst his dozens of the same thing

No sleep last night my head was just full of stuff and wouldn't shut down . i tried everything eventually i was standing at the back bedroom window watching the birds in the trees at 4.30 , I lay down again in the spare bed and dozed off till 7am ,

We are having a family Tea party in DD's garden this afternoon so I will have to squeeze a nap in before then or i will not be fit to be seen ,
Im still in my PJ's I don't think I will bother getting a shower and dressed till lunch time , no point changing again is there.

It is lovely to hear you are all, at last, meeting up with family and friends, it has been non stop here. Not sure what I shall get up to today, more gardening? Cleaning the bathrooms is on the list too.

Oma, Have a lovely time with the family Tea Party.

Mimi, garden duties for you and your OH. I am trying to get on top of jobs I couldn’t get done in that awful weather.

Good morning dear ladies and happy bank holiday.

Mimi, that must have been lovely! Exciting too to still be discovering new things on your doorstep.
That pie looks yummy Oma. Have a lovely time today - and get some sleep first!
I'm sorry your Chester trip is cancelled Plant and hope something else turns up for you. An exciting week for your family with the wedding coming up!
The cupboard looks good there Lizzie.

No visit to the trip today. Yay!
This afternoon OH and I will visit mum. We may have a little drive around as we are out there. We are taking illicit cakes! No visitors are allowed to eat or drink, but mum finds it hard that we can't share something with her. We usually have one of her sweets!
We are going for a catch up with the friends who recently moved to our village this evening.

            Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, and happy Bank Holiday Monday.

It's a beautiful day here - sunny and warm. I'm supposed to be keeping my face out of the sun for at least 6 months after the recent 'repairs'. I think I'll have to get myself a hat with a big floppy brim. I'm not a hat person, so this should be fun!

Mimi - the benefits of moving keep on giving, don't they.

Plant - what a pity your holiday to Chester has been cancelled. Hopefully they will rebook it when things are a bit more settled.

Oma - enjoy your afternoon. I hope you get a nap first though. xx

Gem - you won't know yourself, not going to the tip! Have a lovely time this afternoon. I'm sure illicit cakes taste better than 'legal' ones, so enjoy them with your mum. Another busy day for you. Have a good evening with your friends as well.

Nanto - I hope the trip to the car boot sale passed safely!

We're having a lazy day today. I had an early birthday yesterday with the family coming for a barbecue. The weather was perfect, and the GCs played boules on the lawn - no skill needed as the lawn is so uneven it was just pot luck! OH cooked a barbecue - I think it was his best ever. But best of all was having all the family together. We can't remember when all the GCs last met up - probably Christmas 2019! But even the 'cool' teenagers let their hair down and played endless games of hide and seek with the girls.

What a lovely day that sounded Daisy

I will be celebrating my birthday a day early too. OH is playing golf on my birthday. We are going, with a friend to Yorkshire Wildlife Park the day before. I have booked us in. We love it there and there are some adorable red pandas newly arrived. It will be my ideal birthday treat (even though I have booked and paid for it myself! )

We have had a nice day. We were both busy out in the garden this morning. I got the tubs for the front of the house planted out.
We visited mum this afternoon who was on great form
We then called in for quick cuppa with DD2 and to see how their decorating is coming on.
We will eat an early tea then get over to our friends house.

Very quiet here today, no visitors. DD, Sil and GD2 picked up GD1 and baby H and went for a walk and had lunch by the river. Meanwhile, I cleaned the 2 bathrooms and hoovered. I also made a large pan of Bolognese to go in the freezer. It has been too hot to sit in the sunroom, so I have kept in the shade. After several days of having no energy, I could have pushed the house over (Mil’s expression) today. I shall treat myself to a G&T later. I have roasted veg and salmon for dinner.

Your family gathering for your birthday sounded fun Daisy.

I am getting a bit concerned with the news that pressure is being put on Boris to push the date for the next relaxation further forward. That will effect the wedding if that happens. Fingers crossed everyone please.

Gem, pleased your mum was on good form.

Oma,hope you enjoyed the tea party.

Hubby only bought 2 aerosols of hammerite paint that he uses for the gates.
And a packet of biros which we needed.

                      Weather has been beautiful today.
                      Garden duties were carried out.
Hubby did the strimming and trimmed the hedge.
                      I cut the grass.

Hope Daisy has had a lovely birthday.

Ladies - I've had a lovely day, today. We haven't actually done anything but between messages and chats with a couple of lovely friends on here, phone calls from DSs and DILs and two other very old friends, I've had a lovely time. This evening OH and I sat in the garden with a glass of wine (two, if I'm being honest) and just chatted. So I'm feeling very spoilt.

Plant - oh goodness, I do hope all the wedding plans can go ahead as they should. Everything crossed!

Gem - I bet the tubs for the front of the house will look beautiful. What have you planted in them? Brilliant that your mum was in good spirits - did the illicit cakes help, do you think? Enjoy your evening.

Oma - It was quite hot here too, but I'm sure the heat didn't stop you enjoying being with DD and family. Sleep well tonight.

Nanto - at least your OH brought something useful back from the car boot.

We need a trip to the garden centre tomorrow for some compost/soil for the raised beds so I can get the tomatoes planted out - they're going through the greenhouse roof at the moment.

In laws this morning. Then will just see how the day goes.

Good morning Nan2 good morning everyone else!

Daisy, I'm glad you had an enjoyable birthday
Fingers crossed for the wedding date Plant.

Our second evening with friends since lockdown was just as enjoyable as the first. It does feel good to get out and and do normal things.
Gorgeous morning here, long may it last.
I have all three grandchildren coming for the day. OH will be golfing most of it, or we may have had a day out.

Enjoy your day whatever you do.

good morning Nanto and all who drop in later. It's a lovely sunny morning here and already quite warm.

We're going to do our garden centre shopping this morning. OH is going to build some raised beds for DS2 so when we get back he may make a start on them and I need to get the tomatoes planted out - they're growing fast now.

                                Have a good day everyone.
