Gem in our old house we had concrete floors downstairs ,
We discovered a Gas pipe under concrete at the foot of our stairs when SIL put a carpet down and put a nail through ,
Had to phone emergency gas board and shut gas off ,
It was no deeper than a 1/2 inch , gas board man couldn't believe how when the houses were built they could have done that ,

He traced it along the hall and into the units in the kitchen , we ended up having to have it dug out not a easy job They capped it off and removed it

I'm a bit late on here today. I had a hospital appointment this morning. I've had a little red patch on my cheek on and off for years and lately it's become scaly and raised, and there are couple of red areas on my nose. So the GP referred me to a dermatologist. He's given me an appointment next week to removed the little lump and some evil sounding cream for the red bits. He's warned me the red bits will get redder, scaly, crusty and generally hideous but will then get better. I assumed he'd give me a bit of paper with the day/time on and instructions for getting a Covid test but I found myself back in the corridor with a bit of paper giving me directions to the hospital Pharmacy. So I don't know what's happening now next week!!

Lizzie - you certainly are very well-served by shops and useful services where you live.

Plant - I hope you got your jab ok.

Oma - what a relief for B and you. Thank goodness there's no cancer. I hope they can help with the redness though, and calm things down for him. When you think how indiscriminate many cancer drugs are it's not surprising they have other effects. B - I hope you enjoyed your lovely lunch, when you'd finished laughing at Oma's wardrobe malfunction this morning. I love your DD's art work on the set of drawers - she's so talented and they look really professional. Am I right in thinking she did her first degree in fine art?

Gem - we've all commented on the sameness of life during lockdown, but your DD3 having a flood in the house is going a bit far in relieving the tedium. Thank goodness you were able to put them up, and how lovely to have had some time together. I hope there's not too much damage and everything is ok. Do the need dehumidifiers to dry things out? Sending hugs - it's so sad sorting out your family home like that. xxx

Is the cream something with acid on the end ?
I had that treatment on my face , it went very red but calmed down over time , If im very hot the patch it burned away goes quite pink ,
I had a patch under my eye and two flat brown patches on my cheek , one cleared but I still have one it turned out that one is a flat mole and harmless

Hope it works fast so you can face the world without a bag on your head hahaha xxxx

Oma I’m glad B has had a reassuring result even though he still has a problem.

Daisy my OH had that skin treatment and it worked well.Your Poor DD ,the plumbing problem is something they could really do without. I hope it gets fixed swiftly.

I’m not having the best of weeks as it is the anniversary of losing dear G and I keep going over the phone call telling me he’d passed away.Such a strange and surreal year it’s been.

Clover, it's such a sad week for you. I can't even begin to imagine what a trauma it must have been to get that dreadful news on the phone. You've been incredibly brave throughout. I do hope the easing of restrictions helps you to cope with getting out more and find some sort of new normality. Big hugs. xxx

There was an enormous queue waiting to park at the football ground to get our vaccines. Very well organized, I went straight in, most of the people in the queue were too early for their appt. All done, just hope I don't get a reaction, not expecting one.

She had the cream that sounds a lot like yours,but it did the job.

Busy morning for us. Hubby is taking an old shed down at for his dad.
His brother is supposed to be coming to give him a hand.
I'll be going to be tea monitor.
Going to have to sort stuff out in the shed. See what can be thrown away,given away or kept.

Today OH is on Operation Decking with SIL1 again. I'm not sure whether or not I will go with her. DD and GS are meeting DD3 but she wasn't sure what time last time we spoke. I wont go if they are not there. Also I ordered a new phone which arrives between 10.16 and 2.16 today . OH is going over for 11. If my phone hasn't arrived by then I will stay at home.

Thinking of you Clover xxx. I too had that phone call, and my biggest regret is that I wasn’t there to say goodby ☹️. Time doesn’t seem to be healing.
