Plant, that was very good for care home to let GD know.
I bet baby H is getting more alert by the day.

Sun has been shining all day but it was a cool wind.
    Very breezy tonight.

Gem, it sounds like you had a good day with visitors.
    Nice to able to socialise.

DS1 called on his way to work this morning.
He brought us some chocolate liquors,a box of Black Magic and a Lindt bunny.

Glamm - our posts crossed. Yes I would imagine a strong cold wind would damage your hanging baskets. Better luck with the new plants. My goodness, you are going to be busy. Don't over do it though and hurt your shoulder. I hope your sou chef was up to the mark today. xx

Plant - how kind of the home to phone your GD. Playing music to your SIL's mum was a lovely idea.

Gem - we'll all be turning into social butterflies at this rate. It is so good to see people.

It's been really sunny here and quite warm out of the wind. After our walk this morning I pottered round doing a few odd jobs here and there and then after lunch I went and did some more gardening - cutting things back and digging up some pesky brambles. I've finally pruned the cornus and taken the stems in and put them in a very tall vase. It's about the only time I use this vase but the red stems and bright green buds look lovely, and the vase is green as well.

Having got caught out by the frost last night I've lightly covered a few tender plants for tonight's return to winter. Had a chat with both DSs and one of my BILs.

Cooked a lamb roast for dinner with pineapple and custard for pudding. I feel too full now!

Good morning, I hope you are feeling better now Gem and enjoying Easter.

Daisy, good for you getting work done in the garden, it was bitter cold here so not much done outdoors, I did go to DS1 for a meal, on the bike, coming home at 8pm was very cold!!!

Glamm, you will be pleased with the help to do the wallpaper.

Plant, what an upsetting time for the family.

I will have missed a few but will catch up on myself. I was as DS1 yesterday, GD2 has had her room decorated etc, it looks really nice and she is so pleased with it, now they are busy on the room for GD1, she will be 16 this year, time flies, so she is getting the teenage room she wants, a wall of photo wallpaper from van Gogh! Not the same as I have but blossoms, she was showing me the photo's of what she wants. It will look nice but this is an autumn plan, first the boat, DS1 was showing me all the photo's, it should be ready to sail at the end of this month.

Oma, I was thinking of you and your brother, I saw the photo's on FB.

I phoned BIL yesterday and he is in Alnwick at DS1 for a few days, he is enjoying it as well. His DS2 is local and visits a lot but the daughter has covid so he is not allowed to visit at the moment, there was a change of plan and he drove to Alnwick, calling in at a nephew in Durham for a meal.

Well, they got it right about the snow. Started about 6.30 but its stopped now.
            Very cold out there.
Plenty to do inside to keep me warm.
Hubby got some jobs to do in the shed, but he will have the heating on.

Doing cottage pies for the freezer, but will have one for dinner.
I think there will be enough filling to make a couple of plate pies as well.

Good morning Lizzie, Nan2 and everyone.
Lizzie, your GD's room will be nice. Good to hear your BIL is getting out a bit. So awful to lose someone ay time, but in these times it is all so much worse.
Daisy, OH covered plants last night too.
              Brrr Nan2!

No snow here, sun and blue skies but it's windy and I bet its cold!
We are going to my mum's house to do some clearing today, we didn't go on Friday.
It is the quiz with friends tonight, my turn to host.

              Have a good day ladies.

Good Easter Bank Holiday morning, everyone.

Lizzie - your DS1 and family are very busy. Good to hear your BIL is getting out a bit. As Gem says, it's still not easy, so well done to him.

Gem - it sounds as though you're feeling better, but if you're going to your mum's don't get cold and don't overdo it. Nag, nag, nag xx

Nanto - it sounds like one of those days when working in a nice warm kitchen has its attractions with the added benefit of goodies in the freezer for another day.

A friend is coming round for a coffee this morning - if it's not too cold. We didn't have frost last night, but I think we are due for it tonight so I'll leave the tender plants covered. Other than that, no plans for us.

Snowing here brrrr! Blowing horizontal in the wind! Think I’ll stay in bed...... can’t do that, got cupboards to clear.
Had a lovely day yesterday with family. Doggo took DD and myself for a walk! Knew exactly where he was going too! Roast chicken and gammon for dinner and my Easter cookies have rapidly disappeared!
Have a good day ladies and keep warm xx

Oh Poor M Oma. My ex used to suffer from very painful sinusitis at times. No alcohol for me either, but it's not my anniversary!
My cheek is still swollen and I have been sitting up in bed for house as it hurts less than lying. I will stop moaning about my teeth soon!
Enjoy socialising today Lizzie, Daisy and Oma and keep warm everyone.

Baby H is now trying to grab things, so many smiles. GD2 fed her, it was the first time she had seen her.

Yesterday was lovely, we sat in the garden for some time. I did have the veggie meal enjoyed it but enjoyed the cauliflower, roast potatoes and carrots more. Watched the boat race, it wasn't the same as they had to change the venue, quite boring really, my team lost again. GD2 and her partner are returning to London today, we will miss them, GD2 is such a live wire.

After the lovely day yesterday, it is now snowing, just little flakes, not sure what the forecast is.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant - it's easy to miss things between one page and another. It will see quiet with GD2 and her partner back in London, but knowing your family I'm quite sure there will be some other excitement before long. How lovely to hear about little H and all the mischief she's getting up to. Between her and her two cousins there won't be a dull moment. xx

Gem - hopefully your trip to the dentist tomorrow will put you on the path of being free of that pain. Take care.

Oma - poor M. What a way to celebrate your second anniversary. It's good to know lockdowns haven't stopped your GS1's social life too much. I hope you like his new GD if you get to meet her.

WeeGranny - how are the cupboards getting on? It sounds as though you had a good day yesterday, despite the cold. It's cold here as well today. It went very overcast and rained a bit at lunch-time but the sun's out again. We were going to take Eva up to the paddock, but I don't know if I fancy that bitter north wind - brrrrrr.

Daisy my appointment is next Tuesday, but I will try to be seen tomorrow if I need to. It's inconvenient though as I have GS1 for the day and OH will be playing golf. His parents would have to take GS back for a while! It's also GS2's birthday so we are going over there in the afternoon. Actually since I have got up it has been OK (touch wood) so perhaps its going to be OK until next week.
We did some more sorting out at Mum's. It's such a mammoth task I feel overwhelmed. I don't know how you and OH managed Daisy, with your cousins house. Luckily OH isn't phased in the same way. We took a lot of stuff to the council tip on the way home.

The weather is so strange across the Country there is no sign of snow here, very sunny but bitterly cold I had to go and find my chunky cardy to wrap up with whilst in the garden this afternoon, all the plants are done now until my next order arrives.

Yesterday was enjoyable Roast Beef & Turkey for lunch with Apple & Blackberry lattice pie to follow,it went down well I must say,I can now relax from catering until C-------s.

Next project is decorating so this morning off I went to Rightway DIY and bought radiator paint and non drip paint for all the doors I'm hoping to start tomorrow I have never used a paint brush/roller in my life my John was the most perfect decorator and always carried on until it was finished I can assure you it will take me a while to complete ,

I went on line to book a hairdressing appt today and the soonest I can book is 20th June I am so glad she has managed to open up again as the poor girl was worried she may not make it financially so I'm pleased for her you have to pay when you book now I have never done that before.

                                Keep Calm,You're Fabulous
