Got back earlier and have spent the day trying to get warm! Woodburner now on, as well as the heating! House was cold after a weekend of no inhabitants.

Have people coming for a second viewing tomorrow, but I think they're in a chain. Not that there's a huge rush to sell ours, but it would be nice to get it all done and dusted while there's a Stamp Duty holiday. There do seem to be more properties coming on the market now, so hopefully we'll find somewhere before too long. One of the houses we saw yesterday had the whole lounge, ceiling and walls painted in the darkest grey with lots of strange pictures on the walls. Bit creepy to be honest. In a lovely position but needed a lot spent on it as well.

Going to spend the evening by the fire and get on with my knitting. I discovered a mistake in the pattern on the front of the jumper, so have restarted it. I'd have been very aware of the mistake if I'd left it!

Have a good evening ladies xx

WeeGranny - I hope you've warmed up now. I find once I get cold, it takes ages to feel warm again. Good luck with your possible buyers - second viewings are hopeful, aren't they. Has the Stamp Duty holiday been extended? I thought it had but not sure. It's funny how decoration can put you off a house - it changes the whole feeling of it, even though you know it's relatively simple to change.

You've got a lot of patience to undo and reknit a jumper! No wonder I don't do knitting.

Gem - how lovely to see your friends, but I hope your toes have thawed out now.

Oma - we used to have our large coffee table in the middle of the living room, but it did seem to get in the way! We only put it there now if we've got visitors and need more space for drinks and nibbles.

I hope all the children going back to school tomorrow are ok. It's been a long time for them.

Had a bit of rain this morning. Got a dark load in the washer, was hoping to get them out to dry.
        It might brighten up.
Corned beef pie for dinner. Similar to a cottage/shepherds pie, but made with corned beef and onion, beans and mash.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning, dry here at the moment, I will see what it is like later on as I want to go for tulips for DIL1. I have to go and get my tax forms filled in at 11am, I can do it myself but there is a very good team that do it at the place I (used) do the coffee mornings at.

I went to DS2 yesterday, my sewing machine went with me, very heavy, certainly not a light weight one! I got curtains made for them a few weeks ago and yesterday I got the hems done. I got DIL2 machine working again so she can sew herself now. DS2 was busy in the studio, I went with DIL2 to the supermarket, I had lunch with them then came back here.

Oma, I used to have a table with a glass top and was always cleaning it. I now have a lovely teak chest style with 12 drawers in, very handy. According to my joiner neighbour it is certainly hand made by a cabinet maker.

I will catch up on the chat later as my posts keep vanishing!

Good Monday morning, everyone. It's sunny here but very cold after a heavy frost.

An exciting morning for me - at the dentist's! Just a check up, but it feels like a major outing. I'd better go and get ready - I'm going to walk as it's dry and sunny, and it's not too far. Chat later.

              Good morning ladies ,
A dull day but quite mild outside .

Lizzie if I was having another table in the sitting room I said I would go for a wooden chest sort, either with drawers or like a travel chest or Pirate chest as B put it

Daisy lucky you a trip to the dentist hahaha xxx

Nanto I love Corned beef and potato pie but with a crust on top and bottom , yummy , enjoy .

WG have you warmed up yet ? if your house sells before you find one what will you do ?

We are waiting for sleepers to arrive we building a raised bed down the side of the patio area to plant flowers we need something better than pots but easy to get to ,
Not a huge one but big enough and tall enough and something Storm cant dig in , although he does snuffle with his nose and throws soil around so that may not stop .

Im not fat just 6ft too small

The raised bed sounds a good idea Oma, it is nice to have a bit of colour from plants. I expect Storm will have to inspect it.

Dull here too, forecast for the week doesn't sound good.

If you don't find a suitable house WG, we have an empty cabin free! Garage for storing furniture and good neighbours.

Knee feels a bit better today, I am hoping to get the windows inside cleaned, I think the window cleaners will be here this week to do the outside. Sil had his jab yesterday, I am wondering how he is today.

Lizzie you are such a busy lady and sounds as if you will tackle anything.

                  Good morning all.

A very wet night, and still very damp underfoot.
I hope all our grandchildren and great grandchildren got back to school this morning with no problems.
Lizzie I wonder why your posts keep vanishing!
I hope all goes well with the dentist Daisy. I may have it go back as its not felt right since my last visit.
The raised bed is a good idea Oma. You need that Graham guy from Dogs Behaving Very Badly to discourage Storm from throwing soil about
Take it easy with the knee Plant.

No plans today, and the weekly quiz is on Tuesday night this week.

                  Have a good one everyone.

                    Good Afternoon all.
That’s two of us at the dentist this morning Daisy, all ok here, how about you? The drive along the seafront was lovely. It was still busy though, even though the children are back at school. Lots of young mums with prams, etc.
Plant, I hope your knee is on the mend. How lucky you are to have a physio as one of your revolving guests!
WG, I know what you mean about mistakes in a pattern. I can’t ignore them either, and have just reknitted part of a jumper for a similar reason.
Oma and Nan2two,I have never made a corned beef pie. Not even heard of it before. It sounds heavenly and I will make one next week.
Lizzie, you certainly do buzz about! I did ask OH if he wished I would ride a bike, (he used to) his comment was yes, and he also wished I could play rugby, tennis, cricket, football, basket ball, table tennis and golf. I did point out I have other qualities. 🙄
Gem, driveway visits are great, but I get really cold too and find myself wishing I could be indoors which is not very sociable. Roll on inside visits.
I’m just watching a robin feeding from the fat balls in the garden. There was a pair in the shrubbery outside the dentist’s too, it must be see a Robin day or something.
It makes a nice change from the big fat pigeons!
                    Have a pleasant afternoon all.

Lovely sunshine here, just popped out to take a parcel to a drop off for Amazon. Didn't really want to come back in but there is not much I can do outside.

Grauntie We have two big fat pigeons making up to each other, I think it maybe the same pair every year.

Heard today that a dear friend, neighbour, bowling and WI friend died yesterday. I knew she was very ill. That makes three deaths in our road. I knew it wouldn't be long as they had carers in night and day but I feel very sad that I will not enjoy her company again.

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine.

Yes Plant, sad when someone you know well dies.

A cold wind here, I went for tulips for DIL2 and it was very cold.

I've not been around for a few days my back is in agony and I haven't been able to sleep for a few nights so when I am feeling weary I have been taking myself off to bed during the day and see if I can get some relief for a while but its not working,my whole body seems to be aching my back being the worst.
Will post again in a few days hopefully. xglamma x

Oh Glamma you poor thing. Are you taking anything for this?
When I ache all over like that I find Anadin Extra help. It's paracetamol, aspirin and caffeine and that combination seems to work. Unless you have a problem with aspirin of course. Back pain tends to spread at times to the whole body.
I hope you feel better soon, if not maybe a phone call to the Dr? Take care xx

Grauntie - so we both passed muster at the dentists. My dentist says I'm boring, and I like it that way! I enjoyed the walk there and back. I very rarely walk anywhere without Eva, so it seemed quite strange. For me it's the day of the blackbirds. They seemed to be everywhere, and on my way home from the dentists one female blackbird stood in the middle of the path and just stared at me as if to say get off my territory. I do love blackbirds - they seem to have individual personalities.

Glamm - poor you. As a fellow back pain sufferer I literally feel your pain. It's horrible because every movement is agony. A bit of gentle movement is usually good and the pain stops you doing anything too damaging. I agree with Gem, though, a quick phone call to the doctors would be a good idea. Do take care - do you need anyone to shop for you or are you organised for deliveries?

Plant - how sad to hear about your friend. It sounds as though you had a lot of interests in common, and I'm sure you will miss her a lot. xxx

Nanto - a corned beef and potato pie sounds perfect for a chilly day. Enjoy.

Lizzie - you're brave going out on your bike when it's so cold and windy.

Oma - the raised beds will be lovely - even if Storm agrees and decides they need regularly maintenance from him.

Gem - I hope your tooth settles down - sometimes they take a while, don't they. Fingers crossed. I was wondering about why Lizzie's posts vanished as well. Lizzie - at what point do they disappear - when you're typing them, after you've hit Post Reply or in some other way? Is it always the same way?

We took Eva up to the paddock at lunch time. OH dropped me off near the paddock and then went on to drop off a parcel at the Hermes collection place in that village and then came and joined us. Eva had a wonderful time and it was quite pleasant until the wind gusted round. It seems to catch the wind there and I was glad I'd put a scarf on.

Time to go and start thinking about dinner. the evenings are definitely getting lighter - I didn't realise what the time way.
