My computer is a large laptop Daisy. Over the years things have gone wrong and now it will only do basic things but I still have a search engine. I do prefer a keyboard but I do love my IPad. Today I am without an internet connection on my computer, I have unplugged it, will see how it is behaving later. I might do a Basil Faulty on it.

I am am waiting for some quilting safety pins for the table runner, then I have no excuse not to go to the next stage, especially as I have now finished my knitting.

          A nice busy day here

We went to B&Q for paint and a look round.
We then went to the nearby family run nurseries, where we bought some primula plants and some seeds.

We called in at my mums to put the recycling boxes back into the garage and take the full bin out, ready for the neighbours to put out for us on Friday.

We came home via Thomas's in the village and bought lunch.

This afternoon two friends called when out walking and we had a chat with them on the drive.
I will be cooking soon, then taking part in the WhatsApp quiz with friends later.

Gem - you've had a useful and productive day which was nice and sociable as well. I hope the quiz goes well.

Plant - I prefer a proper keyboard, and I love my desk tops computer, but I find my iPad useful if I want to browse downstairs while half-watching tv, or if we go away (although goodness knows when that might be!) Oh dear, I do hope the table runner gets finished this time.

Glamm - poor lad, but not surprising he's feeling sore and battered. I hope he sleeps better tonight.

I've had an unproductive day, apart from doing about an hour's painting this afternoon. I also had a long chat with DS1 who is keeping busy supporting both GSs with online learning. The roofers have made a start and there was a lot of noise as they drilled out the old concrete and stripped batons back to good wood. This was on just one side of the house - they've still got to do the front and the other side.

I came last in the quiz. I have had a bit of a 'fuzzy head' since mid afternoon, that's my excuse anyway! 😊
Off to bed now, good night all.

Not a bad start to the day,no fog this morning.

Gem, hope the fuzzy head has cleared.

Oma, we have artificial grass on the patio.
If we had the rest of the garden done with it,i think it would take as long to hoover it as it does to cut it.

Good morning Nanto and all who follow later. Pretty butterflies and flowers to cheer up a rather grey and misty morning here.

Glamm - how is your GS today?

Gem - I know what you mean - it's not really a headache, more like a slight hangover but you don't seem to be able to think quickly. I hope you slept well and feel ok today.

No plans for us today - what a change! So I might get some time to paint.

Mimi - I hope you had a good first night in your new bungalow. Take your time unpacking etc - don't overdo it.

I hope everyone's ok - pop in and just say 'hello' even if you feel you haven't got any news. I think most of us feel we're marking time at the moment after the initial excitement of getting vaccinations. xx

Good morning, Gem - we posted together! Pleased to hear you're feeling better today.

I think a lot of parents and grandparents are counting down the days this week. It's been a hard slog for most people doing home schooling.

Good morning, a frost here this morning, I have been to the Lidl and the people with cars down in the park were all scraping ice off the windows!

GD1 starts school again this week, 2 or 3 days a week DS1 told me. He was telling me they have been to the yacht club to book a dock for their boat, here is me thinking it was a boat to tow behind the car!!!

The lady from the first floor came up yesterday morning, if we are ever allowed to we swim together, her youngest daughter has been in the hospital with covid but is home and clear now. Before that I had been to a friends for coffee, she has alzeimers and often asks me to go so I did yesterday, it is difficult to hold a conversation with her but I went, she goes to the care grow garden 3 days a week now and enjoys it. The only thing was I think she put water in the coffee maker and used the old filter as it was very weak, I drunk it though, I can't blame her.

I have just ordered some denim to make skirts for the summer, I ordered it there last year and it was good quality, I have no idea when the markets will be open again to buy the material etc.

You are very kind Lizzie, I'm sure that lady appreciates your visits.

Daisy this long stretch has taken its toll on children, parents and carers, teachers too . I think even parents who don't have to work whilst home schooling (and they are probably in the minority) find it hard now.
As as grandparent, although of course lovely to have them, week after week in winter of full days when you have to ensure the school work is done, plus poor weather for getting out when it is done, and nowhere you are allowed to take them, had made it a hard time. I love the full days in the school holidays, and the full days when they are pre school age, but this is different.

                            Good Morning ladies
Up early and did a clean through downstairs and hoovered ,
We then went to B&Q It was totally empty apart from staff and me and B .

Got what we wanted then came home and put bin out its recycle day today .

I need B to get in the loft later I have a large mirror in there i want to put above his desk in our Bedroom ,
He did have a 3D printer on there and a screen around it but sold it a few days ago as it wasn't getting used ,
To be honest even with a screen around I wasn't happy it was there but he had no where else to put it .

At least now I can make that little alcove into a dressing table area again , I have mine in the spare room as its now my dressing room /spare bed room .

                            Gem how's your back ?

Its been very foggy since yesterday and quite cold , sky looks very Grey so don't think it will brighten today

(My back is OK thanks. The painful part, if it's pressed is as if I have been kicked and bruised, but hopefully it will improve. It's a regular thing)
