It seems to be the last day of the skating today, thaw setting in later today, both GD1 and 2 have been out skating, it is the first time GD2 has been out on the nature ice, DS1 goes with her and he said she has really got going well and is loving it! They will be out this morning then I think that is it until the next time.

I went to the Lidl at 10am, very icy, so many people are falling on the paths, they don't clean them at all. My friend ventured out on her cycle yesterday but only got to the end of the street and fell off, luckily didn't break anything, she was saying on Friday when I was there that she had seen a few out on their bikes, I said I will wait until it is safe.

Lizzie I read yesterday someone had to be rescued when skating on one of your lakes when they went through the ice as its thawing quickly .

They often fall through Oma, that is why I am pleased DS1 goes with them. It is still freezing though.

Sitting here waiting for the thaw to start, then we can go for a walk without fear of slipping. Lizzie, the very thought of falling through the ice into freezing water is enough to keep me indoors!
I’m not doing a single thing today, I’ve cleaned all cupboards inside, the ovens, all pictures and ornaments, in fact, anything that stood still.
I’m going to have a cup of tea and a toasted tea cake and read my book. 😁

Hubby got his vaccination appointment for Tuesday they are on the 65+ group here now. I still have to wait as then it’s clinically vulnerable before my group (I’m 63). Hopefully the wait won’t be too long. We had one family of grandsons come yesterday for a walk and the other today. Both days bitterly cold but it warmed my heart to see them.

Good morning, the thaw set in really fast yesterday afternoon, no more skating, now we are warned not to go out because of the black ice. So much frost still in the ground.

Certainly feels milder than it has over the past week.

Meat and veg in the slow cooker. Some will go in the freezer,some in the fridge for tomorrow.
Always tastes better the day after its cooked.
Jacket potatoes with tuna,mayo,sweetcorn and coleslaw today.

Coffee time and then will do the ironing.

Avo it's worth braving the cold to see family, but it's far from ideal is it? Roll on spring and lifting of some restrictions!

SO many plans today!
Someone is coming to collect the curtains to go back to Dunelm. Someone else is coming from Bosch to look at our dishwasher. It is less than year old and keeps leaving grit on mugs and glasses. We have done everything we should and it still happening, hence the visit.
Were that not enough I am due a Boots delivery to our local branch in the village! I haven't had the email yet to say it is there, but if I do I will be going to collect it.
I want to give the living room a good dust and hoover between all the excitement, and there is the quiz with friends tonight.

Lizzie its thawing very quickly here too and slightly warmer ,

Nanto I enjoy a jacket potato , don't like Tuna or Mayo though , I like mine plain with some butter or baked beans or spicy beans ,

B has to be in Hospital for 10 to have Camera up he has had it done several times so not worried but need to know what's causing all his bowel trouble once and for all

its quite foggy out ,
I have two loads of washing to do , all the darks are in and next lot is towels

Oma, I hope it all goes well for B. I just got a message from DS1 "don't go out today mother", I told him I wasn't planning to. The schools that were open are closed because of the black ice, just messaged DS2, he was going to work but changed his mind. It is raining on ice so very dangerous. I don't think I have ever been stuck indoors for so long!
