Ladies, good morning and Happy New Year.

I hope and pray 2021 will be kinder to all of us than 2020 was.

WeeGranny - how kind and thoughtful of the nurse to go and look for you so you could go in with your OH. I do hope the lump is nothing to worry about, and I'm glad you haven't got long to wait to see the consultant.

Nanto - I hope it's not icy under the rain - it's hard to tell when it rains on black ice. Did your hubby stay up to see the New Year in? I'm sure your SIL was grateful for some company, even if it was by phone.

Nana - that will be my first glass of bubbly this year!! Cheers to you, too.

Plant - it sounds as though your family is having a lovely evening. I hope they are ok today!

Oma - I agree. So much to be thankful for this year with friends and family, including our GRU family. xx

Gem - things WILL get better during 2021, I'm sure. xx

I ended up feeling so tired last night I went to bed and fell straight asleep. OH woke me about 11.45 to go downstairs and see the New Year in. We sat on the sofa with Eva enjoying the double cuddle between us and watched the fireworks and light display in London. A moment when we were so grateful we have each other.

It's bright and frosty here this morning. No plans but I do need to clear up the kitchen - we didn't bother last night.

      Good morning ladies ,

Like gem its raining here , so no frost this morning ,

B went to bed about 11.30 I was up till about 2 , I watched some fireworks but to be honest there were not many , it was raining quite hard so maybe that put them off .

Normal day for us ,I did my housework then ironed and ironed fresh bedding , Then had a long hot shower ,
Its so nice to have my sitting room back to normal but its at the looking bare stage after all the Decs come down ,

I do hope we are heading for brighter days , like everything in the word Equilibrium will be restored ladies and life will get back to normal

WG I hate these scans , B still gets strange odd lumps on his neck that show as enlarged nodes but its usually he has a infection and for some reason it shows in his neck
But you always worry don't you . I have every thing crossed for him xxx

Gem Zoom isnt the same but better than nothing so they say , doesn't make up for hugs though does it xx

Daisy was Eva ok with the fireworks on the TV or did you have the sound low ?

Nanto hope your in laws are ok , I think a lot of people taking their decs down today

Nana nice to see your post xx

Plant did the fireworks go on long ? hope you managed to get to sleep , a happy new year to you too xxx

Oma - Eva was ok - we turned the sound down for her. For once there were no fireworks around us - it was very quiet. thankful for small mercies, Eva saw in the New Year very relaxed and tired from her run in the paddock earlier.

          Good morning all.
Last night we saw the new year in by playing a quiz with DS,DIL GS and GD via messenger. We then chatted for a while and then we decided to go to bed . It was then 10 mins to midnight. At midnight we could hear fireworks going off so I got out of bed , opened the blinds and got back into bed and we watched the display from the warmth and comfort of our bed !

Its very cold here, even though its now drizzling at the moment, with the early morning frost gone it hasn't really gotten any warmer.

Yesterday I brought a new microwave from Curry's on line. It was apparently reduced by £100 but how much of a true saving I have my doubts.

Today we are having a treat for lunch..sausage and chips..... we rarely eat chips.

Wishing you all a very happy and healthy New year

GD1 and her partner were able to join us yesterday evening as he was able to come out of isolation, fortunately no signs of him having contracted the virus. We had ordered a takeaway from our favourite pub, can't say we were impressed. The food was okay but not their usual standard and DD and sil had to do some cooking of the ingredients provided. We chatted on-line with GS2 and his partner, the rest of the family played an on-line silly game with them. GS2, the physio will be back on the Covid recovery ward this week. GD1 and her partner are moving out of the shed today and moving into the house.

I went to bed about 10.30 and fireworks were going off then.
Hubby came to bed about an hour later. At 12 he got out of bed and watched some fireworks from the back bedroom window.
In laws are fine thank you.
Christmas decorations have all been packed up and put away.
Had a good clean up downstairs. Shattered today for some reason, don't know why.
Lets hope this year things can better.
I must say thank you for the new year e-card, i've kept forgetting to mention it.

Hi Ladies,After a very late night last night I had to go back to bed until about 1pm,we had some very thoughtless neighbours visitors setting off fireworks until well after midnight, not your usual fireworks but those that sound like a bomb going off Poppy was so distressed and Oliver ran out of the cat door and I spent nearly an hour trying to get him in again. The neighbour had his GCs (all grown ups) for a party to make matters worse all my neighbours are over 70 and the old man next door but one is on end of life care his carer called the Police as he was so distressed what will become of it I don't know but I shall speak to him when I next see him.
Hoping everyone has a good 2021 love and hugs to everyone

Some people are so thoughtless. There were only a few fireworks here, around midnight.

We had a nice day. DD2, SIL and the children came and we had a roast dinner and trifle.
Although strictly against current rules for our tier, we are a childcare bubble. Next Friday they can be in our house after school and will be, so there is no logical reason to not be today. Our family decision to do it, and we all had a lovely time.

Day 1 of 2021! As usual there seem to be some very selfish people about who don't care who they upset or disturb as long as they have their fun. It sounds as though some were really beyond the pale though. I would like to see the sale of private fireworks banned, but know a lot of people love them - so perhaps they could just ban the noisy ones that frighten wildlife, pets and me! I don't like balloons either!

Gem, I'm glad you had a lovely day, and I don't blame you. When you look at the crowds of people out last night in London and Birmingham it makes me very cross.

Nanto - I could do with a magic cleaning fairy calling here tomorrow to put the decs away and give everywhere a good 'doing'.

Plant, thank you, and I wish the same for you as well. xx

Plant - thank goodness GD1's partner is ok. I was quite worried about him, especially with the baby's arrival being so close. Are they moving into your DD and SIL's house until the baby's arrived? I do hope your GS2 stays safe on the Covid wards.

Mimi - what a good idea to watch the fireworks from your cosy bed! Good luck with the new microwave. We bought our new tv and sound bar from them in November and they delivered very promptly. It wasn't their fault we ordered the wrong soundbar, but the refund came through as they said it would. Trying to return the 'wrong' one was more of the problem and I ended up doing it through online chat and they collected it.

We had pizza, chips and peas tonight - we hadn't had chips for months either. Oven chips aren't as good as real ones, but they were quick, easy and good at scooping up loads of tomato ketchup!

Off to bed and to plan what exciting things we can do tomorrow. Two weeks of bin collections is just the start ... I'll keep you posted. Night night. xx

                          Good morning everyone.

A frosty one here. No plans at all today.

                          I hope everyone is well.

Good morning. Frosty here as well, but the sky is bright.

Only plans for today are supermarket shopping.

                              Morning ladies
                              Its mighty cold here ,
Been to Sainsburys and Wilko back in house for 8.15 ,

Only went to Sainsburys for Bread Grapes and Yoghurts , came out with Two Bath sheets 2 bath Towels and 4 hand towels , all in the sale at a very reasonable price
I was looking for new towels so not like its a impulse buy and getting them at half price softened the blow

Nothing planned today may ring my sister ,
Stripped beds and they in wash apart from that everything is done so a lazy day i think
                              Keep safe dear ladies ,
Gem has DD's hand healed yet ? xx

Good morning everyone. The sun's shining here and it rained last night - no frost and a bit warmer, thank goodness.

I can't say I've got no plans for today - it's more a case of their being so much that needs doing I don't know where to begin! We'll definitely take the decorations down and put them away and then make a start on cleaning up. It's certainly needed, plus need to change the bed and steam the kitchen floor. I'll see how far I get.

Oma - that was a bargain with the towels. I've bought hand towels etc in Sainsbury's and they've been very good.

Chat later - OH is just putting mountains of rubbish out - we haven't had any bin collections since the 18th December.
