Yesterday DD1 and I had a lovely long chat over tea in Patisserie Valerie at the Designer Outlet. It seemed the quietest of the cafes up there and safe. (No cakes, we are both struggling to combat lockdown weight gain!) The car park was very busy and neither of us would have felt that comfortable shopping.
GS2 was very excited with both our Christmas decorations and the newly revamped 'playroom' - conservatory to the rest of us!
DD2 and I had a chat about Christmas plans when she collected the children.

Sainsbury's click and collect for us this morning. Apart from doing that and putting it all away I have no other plans. I should finish writing Christmas cards though.

We popped to Lidl for a few bits , having a hot drink then going to wash kitchen doors down ,
I gave them a bit of a wash yesterday but im going to Sugar soap them today give them a good clean , shouldn't take more than 15 minutes .

Posted all my cards this morning all 19 of them , I said last year I was cutting down but its only once a year so that idea went out the door

I think I will write the neighbours ones out today get them posted through the doors ,

Talking to Nana yesterday she was doing the same getting all her cards done .

Gem did you get any reply from FQ ? I didn't and don't like to pester , I hope she's ok .

Oma, I wonder why Nana doesn't talk to us here? No reply from FQ and she hasn't been on here at all since November2nd. I do hope she comes back, and most importantly that she is OK.

Off to pick up our shopping now!

Good morning, after a few 'dark' days, inside and out! The sun is shining and I am back in the swing! I am going to DS1 and family later for a meal for December 5th. No presents this year as the girls are getting older and they will do that at Christmas. I will give them the albums though.

I have just figured out how to play music from my iPad through the speakers!

Gem, it would be busy at the outlet, it is the same here in stores etc, in fact I have read we could be getting stricter rules on Tuesday. I went to a shop at 9am in next village, similar to B&M? There was a queue but that could have been with it being 5th December and people looking for presents, I got what I wanted so was soon back here, been a frost so it was cold on the bike!

I am tidying the hall cupboard out, the last on my list! I got some tray baskets from the shop to place things in.

Had a good nights sleep after celebrating GD1's birthday next door. Fortunately we haven't seen any snow and it is bright and sunny today. Sunshine is showing up the dust but I don't do housework at the weekend. What sort of doors do you have Oma that you need to sugar soap them. I have had lots of tips from you but that is a new one.

I might finish my cards today and I am thinking about getting my decs out. I only have a small white tree and some ornaments. I have finished my Christmas shopping and most are wrapped or in bags.

Plant just normal ones but Sugar soap brings of any grease build up , its none toxic and a good cleaner , although you cant use it on polished surfaces ,
I sometimes wash my tiles down with it just to give them a good clean too , I use white vinegar with a drop of washing up liquid in normally but as I say now and again a wash with Sugar soap does them good .
Its good for tops of Cupboard too where grease can build up or kitchen ceilings .

Oma I think we will need some of that sugar soap for cleaning at mums house ready for putting it on the market (next year) I remember our friends C and P using that to clean P's dads house, as his wife smoked, as did my mum.

Shopping all put away, then we had a game of Scrabble.
This afternoon I have choice - of card writing, more present wrapping, mince pie making, compiling a quiz for Monday night, or putting up more decorations!

I got my cupboard done!!! Thrown a bag of shoes out! DS1 has just been with GD2 to bring some things, no party tonight, they were at friends on Sunday afternoon and the mother and the 2 children have been tested positive for Corona, DS1 said it was upto me so I said I would go another time!

They are all ok up to now.

Plant - thank you xx I've emailed a reply as my message centre is full and I need to do some spring cleaning in there. I don't suppose sugar soap would help though.

I'm late to the party today. Our dog food delivery was due fairly early this morning so I thought I'd deal with that and then come and have a chat. We waited and waited and waited. Poor chap had had to take two long diversions - one for floods and one because of a closed road due to an accident. So I've finally got it all packed into the freezer, but now need to do lunch. I'll pop back later.

Lizzie its a very old fashioned mix that people use to wash walls and ceilings down to get rid of grime and smoke before decorating but its good for any place that gets dirty apart from polished surfaces
You used to get it in powder form and mix it but ow comes in a spray bottle xx

I think we have something like that Oma, call it St. Marc, it used to be in powder form. Use it before decorating etc.

Had Storm for the afternoon while DD& SIL went shopping , I am learning him to say please when he gets treats ,
He now gives a little grumble and bark combination , its so funny .

Its freezing now its already showing frost on the car going to be a cold night , if your out and about driving take care the roads must be icy .
