I have missed you WG, but never any need to apologise for being absent
    Take care xx

GS1 and I had a nice Christmassy first day of advent afternoon. He has gone now and OH is in the dining room at a Zoom meeting.
I'm going to clear up the tea things and change into PJs!

Its been a busy day today . Most of spent standing in the vets car park . I have written on a new thread about it .

WeeGranny its lovely to see you. How do you print tea towels. Is it like a transfer you iron on . Showing my ignorance I know, sorry.

Another sad day today, Debenhams is closing, what with Top shop , Dorothy Perkins etc, yesterday thats more worry for all the employees working for those companies.
I said to OH this morning we are so lucky to be of pension age. State pension might not be a huge amount of money each month but at least it's stable. Not sure how our finances will be at the start of the new tax year next year but we will cross that bridge when we come to it .
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

We have said that this year Mimi. As we got our pensions just as the first lockdown came, we haven't had to worry about an income, and in fact we are better off this year as we have spent almost nothing on doing anything or going anywhere!

WeeGranny - I commented on another thread before I read this one, wondering how you are. I'm sorry things are so hard, but we're here any time you need us. I'm sure your DD coming over is is lovely and gives you a much-needed break. xx

Mimi - I agree. We are lucky to be retired and I know we've all worked and earned our pensions, whether they be good or basic, but I do feel sorry for young families who normally get by by both parents working, and now one or both have lost their jobs because of the pandemic. They still have to pay all their bills, and want to do normal things with their children, like giving them a nice Christmas present and little outings when allowed. As Gem says, we are probably better off this year as we've been staying home most of the time.

Gem - I'm sure GS1 will get more excited every day now Advent is here. xx

No, she’s too small not to need to use the toilet in the night so I’m getting up at least twice to take her to the garden. I have a baby alarm and when I hear her stir I nip down so she doesn’t hav3 an accident. She cries and wines at first but then settles for a couple of hours!

WeeGranny, the knitted soap bags are a good idea, have you got one of those presses to print the tea towels etc? My friend has one and does shirts etc.

Gem, it is true, most people have spent no extra money this year, but, it is awful for the people with less income. I just read that there are more families here that are using food banks etc. My nephew lost his job and there is yet no hope of anything else, his wife is the earner and now her hours have been cut so it all happens at once.

Good morning. Still dark but i don't think there is much outside weatherwise.

We were only saying yesterday,we are lucky to have a guaranteed income with our pensions.
One of our nieces husband has lost his job, so she is the main wage earner.
It must be a worry for those who have mortgages to pay.

                  Good morning everyone.

Happy positive news on vaccines today

First day post Lockdown, although I don't think many things will improve for many of us!

Lizzie, yes I agree about so many people being hit hard financially this year, especially with families and mortgages. For me personally I know I have spent a lot less than I would have, we are lucky to be retired!

A friend is dropping something off this morning. I asked her to wear a warm coat so we can have a cuppa in the garden! As long as it stays fine we will be OK. We have warm throws. She lives alone and works from home (and lost her mum this year) so needs contact more than some.

Exciting day for OH, golf this afternoon after a month of none.

                  Have a good day ladies.

Off to the surgery for another blood test at 10, doctor wasn't happy with my vit.B level apparently. I am due for an injection for my bones next week, I don't think they will do it until my Vit.D is okay. I read something that said too much calcium affects the Vit. D level. I am also due for a bone scan.

Good morning one and all. Today has started busy! I went to pick Cooper up before the girls went to school and DS2 and DIL go to work - at last they can open their shop. We're having Coops till tomorrow night to give them a chance to get as many hours in at the shop as they can.

We'd just had breakfast when the Sainsbury's order arrived. It's all put away now and the work surfaces cleaned.

I'm going to do some baking and make some soup for lunch - in between letting Cooper in and out - he likes the back door open but it's far too cold for that!

Avo - I'd forgotten how often tiny puppies need the garden! We struggled house training Rusty and Clyde because they both needed to go very frequently, but if one had an accident you didn't know who it was! It sounds as though Bella is doing very well and hopefully she will soon go through the night.

Oma - I had a senior moment reading your post and wondered who had made your coffee table snotty!!! I quickly realised it was Storm, but with a 4 year old in the house you just never know. Sorry B - I didn't really suspect you.

Gem - at least the so-called 'non-essential' shops can open. I do hope it means that people will shop in their high streets and ease off the on-line for a while. I remember your friend losing her mum. It must be very hard for her so I'm sure she'll be delighted to see you and have a chat, even if it is in the garden.

Plant - what a nuisance having to have your blood test done again. I hope it's ok this time and you can have your injection next week, as well as the bone scan in due course. xx

Mimi - how is kitty today?

Nanto - I hope your niece and her OH are managing ok. It's such a worry. Do they have children?

Wee Granny - are the knitted soap bags made of wool? Silly question - do you take the soap out of the bag or hang it in the shower like soap on a rope?

Chilly this morning. Been stood outside talking to K that delivers the papers.
He can talk for England. I'm frozen through to the marrow now. Sat next to the radiator now warming up.

Good morning anyway. Not seen any posts from Enfys, hope she is ok.

Good morning, damp and dark here so decided to do some cleaning! I do 2 chairs with leather cream, GD2 always did that for me when she was here.

I went and got some flowers for DIL1 yesterday, extra long for her vase. She was so pleased with them. I finished knitting the hat, my finger was stiff but not really painful. I will catch up on all the news later!
