Oma Nutcracker soldiers are just my secret passion I have 2 x tall ones with different coloured jackets and a smaller one I have had them a long time and just love them.
Daisy my car is fine I am so pleased with it starts first time every day,its so nippy and easy to park, young DGS has taken it on as part of his pocket money earnings so washes it every 2 weeks for me,such a good boy for his nanna
This afternoon is my last day of present wrapping so everything can now go into the gift bags and be stored in the wardrobe until next week.
After putting up my tree lights on the outdoor tree last week I went outdoors to find the lights had failed I was devastated as I am clueless as to what had happened they had blown off some branches the other night but after I fixed them back and switched on they looked fine so I am going to check all the bulbs again which is a pain as there are 240 bulbs why aren't any of my DGSs electricans I say to myself ??

Oma, herb planter sounds lovely. When we went to the garden centre on Saturday, i couldn't resist buying some new things to hang on the tree.

turned out to be a busy day. Got lots of little jobs done. Then cleaned the washing machine.
Dishwasher is cleaning now with soda crystals and white vinegar.
That is definately my last job today.

Bon Voyage dear Enfys! I hope you have a wonderful time, you deserve it.
Surprise visits like that are lovely Grauntie. We are all missing the in person times together aren't we?
Oh what a pain about the outside lights Grauntie.
Oma your little trip will have done you good..

We were quiet at the library this afternoon but not too quiet. When I am there next Monday it will be the shortest day. Lighter nights ahead!
As I arrived home friends pulled up to drop off our card, so I had a few minutes chat with them on the drive.

Time for me to cook in a minute. I'm making Shepherd's pie tonight. Then the quiz at 8, followed by some TV time.

It ended up being a busy day for me, and I need to write some letters before bedtime.

It's lovely to read all your posts but please excuse me from commenting - I am already tired and have another early start tomorrow. But I do want to say to Enfys - I hope you have a lovely time. I'm sure the change of scene will do you good. Sending hugs. xx

The optician's appointments seemed to take a bit longer than usual, but they were very well-organised for Covid regulations. I did find it quite frustrating though trying to communicate through masks! While I waited for OH I went to do a bit of shopping. OH caught up with me and he took the parcels back to the car. We were nearly out of time on our parking clock so he said he'd drive round the car park if he had to until I got back. I went into Smiths for a couple more things - and stood in the check out for 20 minutes! One person on the till. They kept saying to use the self-service checkout but every time someone did I didn't work and they had to get the one cashier off her till to sort it out! People were very patient considering. I got out to find it was raining. A good uphill walk back to the car park, and the rain got worse. Then we had a proper downpour. OH wasn't there! I waited and waited, getting soaked through to my undies. Then realised he'd parked in the next row after driving round to avoid the parking attendant!!!! I was literally too wet to get into the car! My handsome hero offered my his jacket, but I opted for his jumper instead. I quickly stripped off coat and t-shirt and put the jumper on! Everywhere else I just squelched. Urrrrggggh.

I was so cold I cooked a hot meal for lunch-time to try and thaw out!

We've been doing paper work and making phone calls all afternoon, and I've just had a long chat with DIL1. It's been a few days since we had a catch up.

It's only the second time since lockdown number 1 that I've been to the shops, and I find it tedious and exhausting. You're trying to browse round while still watching what's people are doing around you. It was fine today, people were keeping their distances and everybody in the shops had masks on. It's not the same though!

Yes Daisy sleep well.. Talk tomorrow.

I had had a busy day, GD1 and I went to J L to buy some cutlery for when they move. We managed to find some nice ones at a reasonable price. Then this afternoon I had a dental appt. some very expensive work to be carried out in the New Year.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Daisy , you would have been cold to the bone when getting wet, no, shopping isn't the same at the moment, we are back in lockdown so only essential shops open from today.

I did get to aqua yesterday, when I got home our lift was being serviced and with living on the 5th floor it is a climb! I wanted to get to the library but didn't fancy the climb again so had to wait until the men had finished it was after 5pm so I then went to the library.

I have the physio exercise class at 9am and from what I understand that is still allowed.

Plant, pleased you found the cutlery, not good news from the dentist though!

Oma, where do you store all your Christmas decorations??? I was at the friends down on the 3rd floor, they have so many decorations and I was wondering how they stored them all year round!!!

Sunny spells with the chance of a shower is our forecast for today.

We are delivering presents this evening to GD1 and her hubby.

Daisy, hope you slept well after yesterdays trying day.

Plant, good that you got the cutlery gift sorted.
Not good for having expensive dental work next year.

Gem, did you and S win the quiz last night?

                                Good morning all.

Daisy, are you OK after getting so wet and cold yesterday? I hope so.
Nan2, OH is not a fan of quizzes, or of online get togethers really, so has given up on the weekly quizzes. Not only did I not win I didn't get a single point!! I knew 80% of the answers, just not a quick enough phone typist, others get there first! It will be nice to see your GD and OH.
Oma, our Christmas stuff is in the loft too. In Christmas Corner. I call it that, but have no idea if they are all in a corner, never been up there!
Lizzie, I'm glad the men got the lift fixed, no doubt helped by the tea you made them

                                Another busy day for me!
I am going to a friend's house to exchange presents this morning. She offered to come here, but she doesn't drive so it's a bus journey. Fine if she can come in and stay for lunch, but not fair in current conditions when I can drive over. I hope I can at least have chat on their drive.
This afternoon I am having a window visit with my mum before going on to collect GS1 and bring him back here. The inspectors will be there so I have been asked if I would like to talk to them, as they like family input. I said yes. Whether this will be outside or I will get inside the building for the first time ever, I don't know!

                                Stay warm and well everyone.
                                Don't forget the Advent Calendar!
