Good morning everyone. Sorry I didn't get back on to Chat last night - a couple of late phone calls held me up. Still, it was nice to talk to them.

Gem - so glad OH's results were good. I'm like WG - always on edge when you're waiting for results.

Lizzie - good news for your neighbour as well - I'm so glad for her. There seems to be so much doom, gloom and worry it does us all good to hear something positive and nice.

Plant - how did your appointment go? Did you choose the lift or the stairs? Eva settled down eventually. She didn't mind the noise so much as the men coming and going to their vehicles which they'd parked right outside our house.

Oma - you do see life when you go out! I wonder if that man was suffering from dementia or something. We don't have to book the paddock for Eva. It belongs to a friend and we can use it anytime. I hope your screening goes well this morning.

WeeGranny - it's a shame if you can't choose what colour you have your doors and windows. My DS2 thought they'd have to replace their doors and windows with brown - they were in the middle of a terrace. But when he checked his deeds and checked with the Council there was nothing to say they had to be brown. So he had white and it made their tiny house seem much lighter and bigger. Now several other houses in the terrace have changed to white! But it is nice to have an individual front door.

Nanto - I've never heard of Frenchic paint - it sounds interesting.

Nan2 I must look into that paint. It would be good to paint our (boring) white back door.
Oma, I agree you should postpone the tip day. Those places are bad enough, to my mind, without wind blowing everything about!
WG, it is a shame you are limited with the colour of the door, but stained glass would make up for that I think!

I am a busy bee today
OH is playing golf today at club half an hour away, a day starting with bacon sandwiches. What is it with golf clubs and bacon sandwiches??!!
This morning I will go to the village card shop for a helium birthday balloon for my mum, then go to her house to put the green bin back in the garage and check for any birthday cards.
This afternoon, on the way to school pick up I will take mum's cards and presents from us and DD3 to the care home, plus a lovely vase of mums, for her birthday flower delivery to go into tomorrow. From there to collect GS2 from school and meet GD at the car. On the way back here we will go to my friend's house to collect the dried and varnished paintings the children did in her workshop 3 weeks ago. She starts teaching at 4.15 so we won't be staying long. Then back here, tea for the children and quick play for GS. He is still adjusting to only being here a couple of hours or so after school rather than the full days he is used to, so he crams in as much playing as he can!

Good morning, very windy here, dry but much colder! You do right not going to the tip Oma if it is wet and windy.
Gem, you do have a busy day, I am picking GD2 up from school at 12am, a long time ago that I picked her up. She will be here this afternoon then we are going to the pancake restaurant.

WG, with living in a apartment we have no choice in the colours, I must say though that we are pleased with the colours we have and we did get to pick the new flooring for the gallery.

I was thinking yesterday whilst sorting the last few drawers out in the spare room, it was always the GC playroom when they were here, I had them 2 days a week for 14 years, from them both being a few weeks old to GD2 going on her own to school in March as both the parents work from home. I tidied a few things with tears in my eyes!!! I know they grow up, but, having them for all those years we did so much together. Memories.

I usually took them away for a mid week, we have had lovely cottages over the years and done so much whilst away. The last 2 years we had a fantastic villa on a park, we all had cycles with us and cycled all over the area. GD1 was here the other, we were talking about where we had been to I asked which she enjoyed the most, we went to a B&B in Zeeland for a few days, I got the address from DS2, I went on my own and it was really good so I said I would take them, it was a block hut in the garden, bed, shower etc, also in the garden was another cabin where they could have slept, we all ended up in the same ed and had a lovely few days, there was a swimming pool opposite the B&B so we had a good time. DS2 and partner came so we went into the town, maybe that is what made it so special.

A busy day for you Gemini, I hope your mum enjoys her birthday tomorrow in spite of not seeing her family.

My visit to the hospital was much better this time, not so crowded. I did use the lift because it was empty going up and only one lady coming down and they are very large lifts. Everything fine with my device check. Apparently they have a 3 years life but mine is over that. They don't remove it. Amazing really it is very tiny but records my heartbeat if it goes into fibrillation. Because I was in the direction of Waitrose, I did my shopping instead of today. Manage to finish GGS's jumper last evening so will start on my next today.

Gem - what a busy day! Golf and bacon sandwiches seem inseparable! I hope OH has a good game. You've certainly got a busy day, but I do wish you could see your mum tomorrow. How is GS2 settling down at school?

Lizzie - what happy memories. Fourteen years is a long time but I'm sure you've got a very close relationship with the girls - something special.

Plant - I'm so glad everything went well yesterday. Enjoy your new knitting project.

Oma - I meant to ask - can you just turn up at your tip? We still need an appointment and they've only just started to allow trailers and only one person can go. OH has an appointment tomorrow morning. We're very excited about that.

Lizzie that sounds amazingly lovely times with your GD's it does make you sad when they no longer need there toys ,
i cried buckets getting rid of my 3's toys , i did keep the large chest of leggo even grown ups like that

Gem its strange for the children at the minute to start with poor lamb i can see him rushing around trying to cram all the fun into a few hours

Plant good to hear everything was fine , has your face healed well ? have you had a follow up appointment yet ?

Daisy glad Eva calmed down she's a funny little thing so bouncy and cute

Screening went well feet have good pulse so no worry ,
eyes fine still have the same little spot behind my eye that i have had for about 4 years now , no better no worse so no worry there either

My Pupils are massive if we had been stopped by police they would have thought i was on drugs hahaha

Sun is out now so could have gone to tip , but as my eyes are sensitive to light at the moment with pupils so open , we will stick to Sunday .

Yes Daisy still just turn up but on a odd sort of system , goes by reg number on cars , even numbers one day odd the next , as ours ends with a 7 we odd number so either today or Sunday , strange isnt it .

Daisy, I do have a close relationship with the girls, luckily! When they were young my DIL was studying and DS1 away a lot and they slept just as easy here as they did at home, still have their 'own" beds and rooms!

Lizzie, I understand, when you have had a close relationship like that it's natural to be nostalgic. Your GDs will always be close to you though
I find it sad that GS2 has started school, and especially that covid and lockdown robbed him and me of a lot of the time together when he was preschool. I still have all the many dolls of all kinds, clothes, cot , buggy, highchair etc I had for GD. As she is almost 11 and neither of the boys has much interest in these toys, seeing them makes me feel tearful too!

Lizzie - how sweet of your GD2. They don't understand that age lends a different perspective to all sorts of things.

I know a lot of grans feel like you, Gem and Oma. I'm ok with passing on toys etc that the children have grown out of - I like to think that more children are enjoying them. I love watching them grow up from cuddly little babies, to toddlers, then starting school and starting on the road to independence. GD1, who is just 10 ran her first errand for her mum last week where she had to cross a busy road. She was so excited and proud of herself. Sadly the shop had closed early, but she still felt she had had an adventure.

Oma - I'm so glad you've passed all the tests. Keep taking care of yourself. xx

I have been for petrol, bought a birthday balloon for mum, and been to her house to put the green bin away.
Had my lunch and now will put Mum's presents in the car with the balloon and drop them off before going to school.
