Oh dear Oma, at least my dishwasher didn't do that to me! I can understand your DD giving it a kick. Yes, I like a clean tea towel, I have just bought a set of 4, get 4 pay for 3, in fact, I have a gift card so I use that, I think I will go later and get another set.

It is still very warm, cloudy at times but still hot.

Just read all the posts, I will pop back later and chat. I had a bad night sleeping in the heat but dropped off and have only just got up.

Good morning everyone. Yes, another hot and sunny one here.

I woke up about 6.30 so decided to get up! It was nice and cool so I had a shower and a cup of tea and then took Eva out for a long walk in the Forest. By the time we got back, just before 9, it was getting hot, so I'm glad we went so early. But it was perfectly silent out in the Forest, and plenty of shade for most of the walk, and very few people about.

Not sure what to do for the rest of the day, apart from our Sainsbury's order for tomorrow.

Nanto - I hope you've got your cleaning done and are now relaxing!

Lizzie - it must be lovely cycling through the woods. I love nice clean fresh tea towels. I like Irish linen glass cloths and get through loads of them even though we have a dishwasher!

Oma - I do hope B's check up goes well. Poor DD. These things always happen when you're just too tired to cope with them, but I had to smile at her going out and kicking it. I bet it made her feel better.

Gem - enjoy your afternoon visiting your ex-neighbour. How is he? Enjoy your fish and chips at the seaside - there's nothing better!

Plant - sorry you've had a bad night. See you later. xx

I hope everyone is ok and keeping cool. xx

Feeling very hot, just cleaned one bathroom and dusted and hoovered the S Room and the bedroom. I am going to have a shower and then clean the other bathroom. Neighbour has just called to offer to take my bins up, they are lovely neighbours but keep themselves to themselves. They have a very high gate and it is locked. I think they are naturists, they are so brown and he wears the skimpiest shorts. They must be in their sixties, I think we are the only people they converse with in the road. Oma I am going to wash my kitchen and bathroom floors, I think I will stick to the steamer or a mop and bucket. I am sure I would never get up from a bum shuffle.

Oma, our dogs and cats liked yogurt and licked the pots out. We have never spoiled them with ice cream. I hope all is well at the hospital for B. I would have kicked that dishwasher.

Glamm, I hope the eyes improve soon, that lady surely could have offered a stool. That potato harvest sounds good and yummy. There are so many sales bargains around, I have bought three tops.

Daisy, I hope your GS enjoys his Prom. It certainly is too hot for dogs in the day. I think you were wise not to go to that meeting.

Enfys, it was lovely to meet up with my WI friends, I go to a morning WI but we also have an evening WI both well attended. Our Secretary has tuned into quite a few Zoom courses. I have visited Denman but never attended a course although it isn’t far from us. Take care in this heat.

Gemini, your GS1 is quite a young man now, I bet he had fun with the hose. We have a slope to our garden and when the GC were young they used to spray a long piece of plastic with water and make a slide. Your day in the library sounded a hot and busy one. How does S keep cool on the golf course, does she use a buggy? What a shame your DD3 and her OH have had to put their move on hold.

Lizzie, shame you had to re-home Jimmy. Your cycle rides always sound enjoyable.

I must now go and have a shower and put something cool on. Going to DS and Dil’s for a meal this evening so I will stay the night.

Oh that is good news Oma Breathe and relax now xx I'm sure you are enjoying your meal and sleepover at your son's Plant!

I had a good afternoon chatting with my friend/ ex neighbour. He's ok Daisy, much better now he can get about a bit. He has had several skin cancers removed from his face recently though, and now has one on his chest which worries him more. He is at the hospital about it in a couple of weeks time, so fingers crossed.

OH and I had a nice drive to the coast, a walk, then fish and chips, and a drink before the drive back

Oma - that's great news the the hospital doesn't want to see B until November. You and your stomach can relax now. Hugs to you both. xxx thanks for asking, Oma, John's eye is fine now. He probably won't have to go back until sometime in September.

Gem - that sounds like a lovely late afternoon/evening for a hot day. Were the fish and chips good? Oh dear, your poor ex-neighbour. I'm sure things must play on your mind more when you're living on your own. I hope it's easily removed, poor chap.

Plant - you have been a busy bee for such a hot day. Still it's done now and you can relax at your DS's tonight. Have a lovely time. xx

After my long walk this morning I've managed to slow down and have done very little. I did the Sainsbury's order. Then went back and added something I'd forgotten. Then I went back 3 more times to add other things I'd forgotten! I had a little nana nap after lunch - my hot weather siesta for about half an hour. Got dinner - a vegetable stirfry to use up odds and ends in the fridge. Then I got an energy spurt and spent a couple of hours on odd jobs in the garden.

Good morning, it is actually dull here at the moment. Oma, what good news for B, you will all be so relieved.

Gem, you would both enjoy the visit to Filey and the fish and chips.

Daisy, you had a busy day with the Sainsburys order.

GD1 goes away with a friends family today, the family are going by car and she and her friend are going by train, her friend is 18 years old so they will cope together. DIL is picking her up next Friday before they go away for their holiday.

Plant, I hope you enjoy your meal. Are the family all together again next week? It was a shame I had to re-home Jimmy, it was either that or tablets for me, he got a good home or I would have chosen the tablets. I do enjoy my bike rides, love them!

Good morning. Didn't sleep much so i got up at 4.

Oma, good news for B. So pleased for you both.
I would have given the dishwasher a kick as well.

Family meal out this afternoon. 2 of them are on nights tonight, hence daytime meal.

Gem, nice to visit the seaside.

                    Lizzie,hope GD1 has a lovely time.

Good morning, Lizzie, Nanto and all who follow. What a cute kitten, Nanto!

Lizzie - I bet your GD1 is really looking forward to both her holidays. Quite an adventure as well going on the train. I do hope she has a great time.

Nanto - enjoy your family meal this afternoon. Just having everyone together is lovely, isn't it. xx

We're going to see some friends this afternoon. We've seen them once since restrictions were lifted so it will be good to catch up with them again.

No other plans - except I must go and tidy the fridges out and empty the kitchen bin ready for the bin men today. I'll leave Eva's walk till this evening. I probably ought to do a bit of housework, but we'll see ...

                      Have a good day everyone.

                        Good morning ladies
I love the cute kitten Nan2. Sorry you has a bad night, this heat doesn't help does it?
I hope your GD has a lovely holiday Lizzie.

GS2 to pick up from school today. He will finish at ten past two.
I hope I will see GD, either at school or when DD picks up her brother. She will be doing something with friends after school. Big day for her, leaving day.

We are going on a family day out to the seaside tomorrow. We have decided in the end to each take our own lunch, rather than a pot luck picnic. I think I may make some buns this morning though to take to share. I think there will be 12 of us, so no sampling for me if I only make a dozen!

                        Have a good day everyone.

Gem - I do hope you see GD on her last day. It's quite emotional isn't it. My GD1 didn't do anything after school, but her friend's mother took them to Chawton, Jane Austen's house, yesterday which they really enjoyed. Their new school has a House system and they will be in Austen house so I think that helped to generate their curiosity.

I do hope the weather holds for your family day out tomorrow. Taking your own lunches sounds a simpler idea, although I'm sure your buns would be very welcome. Could you make 2 batches so you can sample, and put the rest in the freezer?

Daisy, Austen house, what a lovely name for school house

It took some doing to arrange date, some weeks ago when everyone could come. Then after a while the weather forecast looked appalling. Now it has improved a lot, but still cool and dull considering all the hot weather we have been having! We are all looking forward to it just the same

Good morning. So much cooler here today, lovely breeze out in the garden. I’ve been lucky and have slept ok during all the heat but will be so happy now it’s cooler during the daytime. I just couldn’t do anything whilst it was so hot. No real plans today, I Might potter in the garden but our green waste hasn’t been collected and the bin is full, might be room for a few bits though.

My hip has been playing up again so it will do me good to get moving a bit more, I seize up otherwise.

Heavy rain and storms forecast for tomorrow so I will make the most of being able to be outside. Have a good day everyone 🌞

Sorry to hear about your family member Oma, hope all goes well for her. What a worry.
