      Good morning ladies

It must be quiet without the family Plant. You will enjoy going to DS and DIL tomorrow.
Oma, I hope B finds the right car soon. Car buying is not my favourite thing either!
Daisy, Housework Can Wait should be the hot weather motto! As long as it's hygienic -loos, kitchen surfaces etc clean, and washing done, the dust can just wait!
Nan2, its cooler here too, which is welcome! It is forecast to be hot but not as hot as yesterday. I'm glad as I will be in the library this afternoon!
A family meal, something to look forward to

OH survived the heat of the golf course and in fact seemed less hot and bothered than I was staying at home! GS1 loved running in and out of the sprinkler getting soaked. Apart from that and his meals, he spent most of the day inside in the shade. I helped him with his online maths. It was hard! I was little help Back to school for him today.
DD and SIL3 arrived just before 6 and dried their massive tent out in our garden whilst we chatted and ate. It was lovely to spend an evening in the garden with them.

Just library duty for me this afternoon, and golf for OH.

      Have a good day everyone.

Oma and Plant I didn't notice your posts!
It was a hot night indeed, all windows flung open again.
The WI talk sounds interesting Plant.

Good morning, another hot day on its way. I am going round to my friends for coffee this morning. She is recovering from cataract surgery on Monday so will be good to catch up.

No housework here, a quick hoover yesterday, kitchen and bathroom kept clean but that’s it. It’s hard work just trying to keep cool.

Plant, our WI have had a couple of outdoor meetings. Luckily there is a large field next to our usual venue, lots of big trees for shade so it’s perfect. Enjoy your meeting. Have you ever done any of the Denman courses? I keep looking at them.

Just heard from DS, South Australia are now in lockdown, they’ve had 1 new case overnight! But their vaccination rate is extremely low, about 3% I think.

Have a good day everyone, stay cool 😎.

            Good Wednesday morning everyone.

Nanto - definitely Summer Time but your cute little birds look happy in their new home. It's difficult to fit social things into everyone's complicated work patterns these days. Glad you've managed to find a date.

Plant, hopefully it will be nice and cool at the golf club for your WI meeting. How lovely to be getting together again.

Enfys - I hope your friend is recovering well from her op. The worst thing is remembering to put drops in 4 times a day. I'm still thinking about joining our local WI - I just wish it was a day-time one, but it's not. I belonged many years ago and enjoyed it. What courses are you thinking of doing? I do hope your DS is ok. They do police their lockdowns very hard, don't they. I wonder why their vaccination rate is so low?

Oma - Storm is spoilt rotten! I'm sure your washing id already dry, even if the sun isn't out yet.

Gem - I can just picture your GS enjoying the sprinkler - it's great fun. I hope he's happy going back to school. It's so unsettling for them, and not long now till they break up. I bet DDs's tent dried in no time!

I've just got back from walking Eva before it got too warm, but by the time we got home just before 9 it was already hot for her.

We should have been having our first post-Covid meet with OH's pensioners' club, but we've cried off. The room has very little ventilation and social distancing would be impossible, plus you help yourself to coffee so everyone would be handling the coffee pot etc. Much as we'd like to see people, it's one step too far at present, plus the heat which isn't good for OH's COPD. I think OH thinks he 'ought' to go, but I've said I'm definitely not.

It's our GS2's school leaving Prom tonight. He's really excited and looking forward to it after all the self-isolations he's had to endure this year. He's got a very smart DJ for the occasion and looks so grown up all at once.

I hope we all have a cool and relaxing day. xx

Good morning, I have hung the screen up on the balcony this morning and have just trimmed the olive trees and scrubbed (half) the balcony. I won't be doing much the rest of the day, the lift will be out of order this afternoon for a service MOT.

The friends on the 3rd floor phoned me at tea time, they hadn't seem me for a few days and were worried. I went down for a drink, they asked me to stay for a meal but mine was already prepared. Nice of them to think of me, my leg has been playing up and I don't venture out much when it is, plus the heat! My leg feel a lot better at the moment.

Plant, it will be an interesting talk on the flying doctors, I have just read a book about them.

Enfys, enjoy coffee with your friend, I hope her eye is healing.

Daisy, Eva would be warm if it is anything like it is here.

Nan2, you will all enjoy the meal, it is never easy to get a date that fits into everyones busy lives.

Gem, GS1 would enjoy the sprinkler, GD2 is going to the local pool today with friends, they have an outdoor pool in their village. We used to have one. You would enjoy the chat with DD3 and SIL, are they house hunting yet?
Oma, I expect your washing will soon dry, and, you spoil Storm!!

Outdoor pool would be lovely Lizzie. The nearest to here is Harrogate. I wish your leg would stop playing up for you!
Do you remember the underfloor leak DD and SIL3 had earlier this year? Well they had to have so much done to rectify that downstairs is almost unlivable in at the moment. Hence all house move plans put on hold as they can't sell theirs until this is all sorted out.

Daisy, GS1 was happy to be returning to school today. He missed his new friend William, and it's only for 2 and half days as they finish at midday on Friday
I hope your GS2 enjoys his prom. Nice that they are having that at least.

I have damp dusted the bedrooms and cleaned the mirrors , then washed all the kitchen cupboard doors down while its still cool
It seems to be taking longer to get the energy at the moment so im doing things and having a rest before doing anything else .

Lizzie nice of your neighbours to care xx

Daisy I would feel the same about meeting in a small hall at the moment ,
Hope GS has a lovely night , no Proms here sadly , so GS1 not getting the experience

Gem poor DD all that work to be done they must be fed up with it all , will it take long ?

Enfys hope DS is safe , that's a low immunisation rate isn't it .

It's an unknown quantity how long it will take Oma. Not sure why, perhaps something to do with insurance?
It's hot no wonder things are taking you longer to do!

Here is a photo of GS1 yesterday. Sometimes he ran though the water, other time strolled through nonchalantly as if it wasn't cold!

Good Morning everyone so sorry I have not posted in the last few days even though my eye is much better I am still having blurred vision so finding it hard to see the keyboard ,I can read the posts by enlarging the text but the keyboard is difficult sometimes but hey-ho it will be better after all the treatment.

Everyone seems to be coping well with the heat as long as I'm in the shade I can cope I run my wrists under the cold tap for 3/4/mins several times a day and it cools down the body it certainly works for me.

Daisy I have pulled up my potato plants and got about 10kgs all decent sizes and very nice indeed I have treated neighbours to some I made a poiato salad out of some mixed with a touch of garlic and it was yummy.

These past few days I have done some online shopping and have been lucky to grab some cute bits and bobs for my 2 x GGCs C-------s boxes Next had some super winter jackets all less than half price I bought them the next size up that they are now so they will be sure to fit .

Oliver is keeping himself cool by laying in the marigolds at the bottom of the garden when I have watered the garden he is one clever cat.

On Monday I had an appointment for an x-ray on my back regarding the sciatica problem when I went into the room to be x-rayed the lady said "hop on the bed" me crippled in pain just laughed
at her !!! she said the staff where unable to offer help if there was difficulty getting on the bed but I managed after a while the crunch came when told to roll on my left side such agony but she said she had managed to get enough images I have to wait 10 days for the results.

It has just been announced that Liverpool has lost its World Heritage Status after a meeting held by Unesco they have said that the new developments being built has affected the history of the City its so sad as we have such beautiful Georgian buildings and docklands which hold so much history I'm sure it will not people from visiting this wonderful City.

Enjoy the day everyone and stay in the shade x

Glamm, I can just imagine you hopping onto the bed! I have done some on-line shopping with 70% off, I like a bargain now and again. I hope your eyes soon improve, we certainly need our eyes. What a shame about Liverpool, I have only visited once, as Gem remembers, it was a lovely city, my sister used to love going to Liverpool for a few days. You have done well with the potatoes, I have just found a strange plant in my hanging baskets, pulling it out I got stung, a lovely huge nettle.

A lovely photo Gem, they love water. What a shame about the house, I hope it all soon put right and that they can put it on the market.

Oma, yes, nice of the friends to care.

GD2 is one for the questions, she asked me, whilst in the car, if I was born when they filmed Grease and had I ever seen it? That could work out as a compliment.

Lizzie - I do feel for you with the heat, but what lovely neighbours you've got. I hope the lift is fixed in the time they expect. Lizzie - yes, I think you can take GD2's question as a compliment - unlike a friend of mine whose DD asked her what it was like to wear crinolines!

Glamm - I hope your eyes improve soon. It seems so silly that you couldn't have any help to get onto the x-ray table - what would they have done if you'd fallen over - left you there!! I've just read bout the World Heritage site story - it seems "They" don't like the plans for the new Everton stadium! Never mind, the rest of us still love Liverpool! I agree, there are so many reasons for people to visit the city I don't think it will make any difference. Cats are smart when it comes to their comfort, aren't they.

Gem - what fun, playing in the sprinkler. You should have joined him! I didn't realise your DD3 and her OH are still struggling with the water damage. That's awful for them. I do hope it will soon be sorted out because it just puts their life on hold, doesn't it.

Oma - you're still such a busy bee, even in this heat. OH didn't go to the coffee morning. I think he thought about what I'd said! It is in a hotel, but the room is double height with roof lights (very old) so it gets good light, but not ventilation. I'm wondering how many people went.

Daisy, I have planned an afternoon in! They should be finished by 4-30pm, no, asking what a crinoline was like woudn't be a compliment! They are good neighbours, a very friendly couple.

Reminds me when GS1 was small and asked B , Grandad when you were little were you a cave man

Gem i could do with that sprinkler , he looked so relaxed were you tempted to join him

Glamm fingers crossed your eyes slowly improve and your able to see without the blurring very soon , poor you .
That lady sounded like she was being awkward , those X ray beds lower down quite a bit for people to get on , you didn't need to struggle ,
                              Not very helpful was she

Storm is laying in the shade he has slept all morning apart from having his lunch , its horrible for the animals poor things .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Started off cloudy this morning,so we decided to do the garden.
I was about hald way round when the sun came out.
                                Anyway, got it all done.
Its warm, but i don't think its as intense as yesterday.
After a cold drink,i went straight in the shower.

Gem, that sprinkler looked very welcoming.

Glamma, i always thought those beds could be lowered as well.
Maybe she was having a bad day,and you copped it.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
