Mum was on good form today, which was lovely for us both.
We are hoping restrictions will ease before the end of summer so we can take her to the seaside. We will know more after 19th.

Daisy I think DD and SIL must be going away for the night. I know no more and nor does she. SIL has arranged it. All I know is the children will be here around midday tomorrow for about 24 hours!
Nan2, I favour easy to cook meals too!

Gem - I hope you will be able to take you mum out to the seaside as well, but lovely that she was cheery today. I hope your DD and SIL have a great time, whatever they're doing.

Nanto - the easier the better!

So we're organised for the week-end - catching up with chores, phone calls, emails etc, etc tomorrow. Off to DIL1's mother's 80th birthday party on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to ourselves, out for lunch with friends on Wednesday, hospital on Thursday .... Then the phone rang. It was the hospital changing OH's appointment to tomorrow morning! In lots of ways it's good, because OH hasn't got so long to think about it, but I don't know whether he'll feel up to going to the party on Sunday. We'll have to see.

I'm just waiting for Sainsbury's then I'll get dinner and start on my emails tonight. I also realise I need to get some more birthday cards - I thought I'd got all July's sorted, but I've missed a couple. It's a busy month.

About 6.30 it came really dark,looked like we were in for a storm.

Good morning everyone, a dull one here.

That's a bright butterfly Nan2. I heard on the radio yesterday there is going to be a butterfly watch this month, like the annual bird one.

GD and GS2 are coming today for an overnight stay. Just the sofa bed to put down for GD and sheets and pillowcases to put on both beds. GS will bring his own duvet, and the other duvet has a clean cover on as our cat sitter brought her own when she stayed.

I don't think the forecast is great where we are. I hope everyone has a good day and especially Plant on holiday

Dull here to and raining but that fine damp type that sinks in without you realising ,

B got Tonsillitis came on last night , We did Covid tests yesterday so know its not that , he tends to get them every summer ,
Already has AB in so has started taking them .

Not a lot on today I have been around and washed paintworks etc , did my usual dusting and hoovering so its all clean I might clean the insides of the windows later then again I might not see how I feel

Hello - too late for a 'good morning'! It's dull and wet here - I think you'd describe the rain as 'persistent'!!!

We're back from the hospital after OH's injection and he's 'watching' television with his eyes closed. We'll have to see how he feels tomorrow before deciding about going to the party - it's 150 mile round trip. We could stay at DS1's but if OH isn't feeling well he'd much rather sleep in his own bed! We'll just have to wait and see.

Oma - I do hope B is ok. Thank goodness you've got ABs in to start on immediately. If I were you I'd leave the windows - the rain on the outside will hide any tiny marks inside!

Nanto - lovely butterflies, and Gem's right. There's a three-week Big Butterfly Count starting on 16th July.

Plant - I hope you're escaping the rain.

Gem - enjoy your day with GD and GS2. Have they put their orders in for their favourite tea?

Daisy poor J I hope he is ok for the party tomorrow , its a long drive for you though.

I didn't do the windows , we ended up going for mirrors ,
I put one each side of my bed above my lamps just small ones but I wanted larger ones .
B said best go for them today as he might not feel like going the next few days if it gets any worse

Found some I liked at a decent price cheap and cheerful they are now up ,
must remember they are there or we will frighten the life out of ourselves during the night if we get up
Put a little pic on not the best Im not good at pictures cant get the angle to see good but you can see what I mean

The sun is out now I hope where Plant is its sunny , seems such a long time since any of us could say we have been away ,
Gem's was the first I think I hope we don't go into another lock down after the football so more can get away ,

Cant go wrong with Lego its brilliant stuff for young and old

We ordered Fish & chips for tea haven't had any for a long long time , we both ended up eating most of the fish and just a few chips the rest got binned ,
They were lovely but far too much and B had trouble swallowing as his throat is sore .

Oma - I do hope B feels better soon. It must be making him feel tired and it's hard work eating when your throat is so sore. Does he have anything like honey and lemon to sooth it? Your mirrors look nice. What a good idea to have them over the bedside tables - they will reflect the light from the bedside lamps as well - very 'designer'. It's very satisfying when something turns out how you'd planned, isn't it.

Gem - it sounds as though you've had a good day with GD and GS2 - isn't Lego wonderful!

OH's eye is feeling sore and scratchy at the moment. He's slept on and off all day - in between nursey waking him up for drinks, eye gel and food. The decision about tomorrow's party has been shelved. It was to have been in DIL1's Dad's garden but he has been taken ill - suspected kidney stones, and DIL had to take him to A&E this afternoon. Poor chap - kidney stones are so painful, aren't they.

I haven't done much since we got home, apart from nursing services! I went into the village for some cards I needed - lots of visitors around - and then took Eva for a walk round the block. She was tired after her busy day on Thursday, plus having the excitement of visitors.

Eventually the sun came out and it was quite nice this afternoon.

I hope it's good weather for Plant and her family.

I hope OH's eye is a bit more comfortable today Daisy. It does sound miserable for him each time. My auntie never has any after pains or soreness so I wonder if your OH is one of the unlucky ones?

GS and I are up, but not dressed. OH and GD asleep!
Big day for sports fans today, Wimbledon final and England vs Italy match.
No plans today. GC here until midday or thereabouts, plenty of sport for OH. I doubt there will be time for much else. if the day stays nice I may be in the garden with my book this afternoon
