Enfys - hello, birthday girl. I'm sure today is one of mixed emotions but I'm so glad you've got things planned. How are your DS and family coping with Covid in Australia? It's certainly going to be a hot day today, but hopefully a bit quieter than yesterday. I heard that there were traffic jams tailing back to Winchester (on the M3, I suppose), all wanting to spend the day on Bournemouth beach.

Your garden sounds lovely, and your gardener is a real treasure.

Oma - yes, I suppose you do get used to traffic noise and I'm glad it doesn't bother you. Trees are good at absorbing noise, aren't they, but it's a pity the birds don't have a lie in!

Mimi - oh dear. I've tried using a strimmer for the lawn edges but I make such a mess of them it isn't worth it. What a good idea to plate up extra meals from a roast. It takes such a long time to prepare and then is eaten in minutes, but that way you do get extra meals for 'free'.

Back from hospital...again! Assessment done and chemo starts on Wednesday.

Another hot and sultry day here. I sat outside last night after dinner with the bats and hedgehogs for company! It was a constant procession of hedgehogs to their food and water bowls!

DD had to go to Bournemouth last week because they're having big problems finding staff down there. She said it was full of 'oldies'!!!

We had a day out at the coast on Saturday. Breakfast at the farm cafe and then on to Aldeburgh for a recce at the flat we've booked for later this Summer and down to Orford for some goodies from the fish shop. Their smoked salmon is delicious! Took OH's mind off what's to come in the next year!

Nothing planned for the rest of the day but I really need to get rid of some of the cobwebs which have appeared overnight. Trouble is they're full of those fluffy white seed heads from the willow trees, so you can't really ignore them!

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies x

WeeGrany - chemo isn't something to look forward to, but hopefully it will ensure your OH doesn't get any problems from the melanoma.

I can understand Bournemouth hotels being short of staff - in addition to staff not coming from overseas the Universities seem to be still doing distance/online working so there's no student workers either. Your day out on Saturday sounds lovely - and delicious. Did the flat look ok?

OH is an excellent lawn edger with a strimmer. Heaven knows what it would look like if I tried! I will mow the lawn but not edge it.

We had a lovely lunch and catch up with our friends, and they gave us both belated birthday presents

OH is off to mentor the newbies on the golf course now. I have to cook again as it will be too late when she gets in, but then that means I get two night off after this!

WG you just have to look at it as a positive it will keep the Melanoma from returning hopefully xx

Gem when we had real grass I was never allowed to use the strimmer I always took chunks out and he would have to re edge it

Cooking tonight and then two nights off is a fair swap

You have all been so busy and lots of news and lovely meet ups with friends,.

Daisy, it was just a nurse taking a blood sample to check if it okay for me to have an injection for my bones next week.

Very hot today, I hope you are all tasking care, and keeping in the shade if you can. I spent most of the day with GD1 and baby H, she will not be long before she will be crawling.

Lovely to hear from you Enfys, I hope you had a nice day.

Sil cuts the lawns and uses long handled shears for the edging,

I had a lovely time this morning by the pond feeing the ducks and ducklings, I took loads of bird food and they shared my flapjack I bought to go with my coffee, reluctant to leave but I had promised GD1 I would go and see her and baby H.

W, I hope your OH isn’t too poorly with the Chemo.

Plant - I bet the ducklings are very active by now - probably leading their poor parents a real dance. Everything changes once little H gets mobile. I hope your injection can go ahead next week. xx

Oma - I am useless with the strimmer too. I use long handled shears.

Gem - so glad you had a lovely time with your friends. Were they both ok?

Good morning early birds and those who drop in later.

It looks like another warm day here, so I'm taking Eva out first thing. It was too hot to take her out at all yesterday. We are having a cup of tea with some neighbours this afternoon. Other than that - no plans.

Enfys - did you have a nice day yesterday?

Thanks for that Oma. I saw the notification about the post but it had gone, so well done I have banned and deleted that poster.

Good morning, luckily I am feeling a lot better today, thanks, it is a lot cooler so that will help.

I have just read what we could be discarding the masks earlier than they planned. The supermarkets have already stopped disinfecting the trolleys and the baskets are back in use.

I have been to the shops as my friends mother will be 90 years old next week and I want to get her card posted, a lovely lady, DS1 always says she never looks her age, she doesn't either.

I heard yesterday that the lady that lives under me will most probably not be returning home, sad as she loved her house! She hasn't been well for a while now and always falling.

Good morning, thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day yesterday. Coffee with my friend in the morning, she had made me a cake with a candle on it, so nice. Long phone chat with DS and another friend popped round with card and present. Wine, choc and a garden voucher, so lovely. Dexter here for the afternoon then tea and drinks at DD’s. A lovely day, flowers and gifts, so lucky.

My gardener is here now, she is working hard in the sunshine so I keep her supplied with tea and refreshment. I’m so pleased I found her, makes life so much easier.

meeting an old friend tomorrow at our local garden centre. We haven’t seen each other for 18 months although we phone every week, but it will,be lovely to meet in real life.

Hope it cools down, I really can’t cope with the heat. Yesterday Dexter and I spent the afternoon inside with the fan on!

have a good day everyone 🌞
