Good morning Grans, Grannies, Grandmas, Nanas, Nannies, and the rest

I'm glad you got the vouchers back Lizzie! Enjoy your meal with your GD,

We here have the nice sunny weather today. Blue skies too

I am so glad as my friend is finishing her mammoth fundraising for her friend today, with a garden party and auction. I lent her our gazebo in case of rain, and they borrowed another, but they won't need them. She has raised almost £14,000 already, before today's takings. Her friend is only in her early 30's. Long story but cancer which spread after treatment. NHS can do no more so this is to fund other treatments. My friend is an amazing friend to this lady. All my good wishes go to them, for today and moving forward.

We need some shopping today, and as we haven't set foot in Aldi since before lockdown we will go today - unless too crowded.
We are eating out with 2 friends tonight the ones we went to the pods with. The last day of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme.

      Happy Bank Holiday everyone.

Gemini, that is an amazing amount your friend has raised. Hope your visit to Aldi goes well, I have done two shops in Waitrose so far.

Lizzie, enjoy your lunch with you GD, pleased you have your vouchers.

You put me to shame Oma, you have cleaned windows and mirrors and I am not dressed yet but I suppose age does have it's privileges and it is a bank holiday.

No sunshine here but thank goodness no wind.

GGC and their parents came next door for a meal yesterday, it was lovely to see them. GGS is going for a half day to pre-school this week and GGD is going to a nursery for 45mins this week, hope she is okay, she is a mummy's girl atm. DD starts back tomorrow and Wed she starts looking after the GC. Not so easy now with the two and picking up GS from pre-school.

Good morning. Sunny here at the moment but haven’t out my nose out of doors yet. I confess, I am still in bed and only been awake for about 20 mins. I’ve had a reasonably good couple of days, managed to get grass cut and a few little gardening jobs done before the green bin is emptied tomorrow. I’m getting into a little routine now which seems to suit me at the moment but still resting and taking things as they come.

Felt proud of myself yesterday...the bottom hinge of one of the kitchen cupboard doors had shed a screw and was hanging loose. Went into garage to Ps work bench, found the correct screwdriver and was hunting around for the right screws. Low and behold there right on top of the freezer we keep out there was a brand new pack ... it was almost like someone (?) had put them there. So door back in nice and safely, my first real bit of DIY.

Nothing planned today, but have a good day everyone.

Well went to the Range and you have to order the unit for delivery and its £10 , on principle im not paying that , other stores ( But not this one ) you can order for delivery at store free ,
There is one down the road from Bs Mothers so we picking her up tomorrow i will go in there and see if they do it ,
I cant understand why you can click and collect in one store but not another same company its madness .

Glad i cleaned the windows this morning came back and the window cleaner was here , i thought he was due

Enfys P has put those screws there he's looking out for you , well done shows what you can do when you have too xxx

Well we survived Aldi and got a lot of bargains.
Everyone wore masks and mostly it was all fine. Just one group of two mothers with assorted children who filled the aisle with their two trolleys, dawdled and let the kids roam all over. I had to wail for a while until I could safely pass them and get into another aisle, and another woman coming in the other direction had to wait. No idea some people!
All shopping away now hands washed and we have had lunch.

Weather was sunny and warm this morning. Clouded over now.

Gem, i think you had everyone covered this morning, with the different names for us.

Oma, i have a feeling our window cleaner is due this week. Weather permitting.

Enfys, well done for fixing the cupboard door.

Wow, it looks like successful shopping day today, apart from poor Oma! I can't understand the logic of the Range with different rules for different products in different branches! I ordered a couple of throws from Dunelm this week, then realised you could only buy them in person or on click and collect. Why they can deliver one type of throw and not another I don't know! At least your windows are clean inside and out, Oma!

Enfys - well done. It's quite satisfying when you fix something like that, isn't it. I'm sure P is looking after you. xx

Plant - your little GGCs are growing up far too fast. I'm sure your GGD will settle fine - she's such a sunny natured little girl, and her smile will melt everyone's heart. I don't know why, but I always felt picking up from play group was quite hard work. It's ok if you know which coat they went in, if they had wellies, gloves or anything else, but I always found myself searching the coat racks trying to find the right garments.

Gem - it sounds as though Aldi were well organised, but you just can't legislate for some people, can you! I do hope your friend has a really good fundraising day today. She's done amazingly well.

We ended up with quite a warm sunny afternoon, but it's gone chilly again and it smells like autumn outside.

Enfys, well done on the door, take one day at a time, P would be proud of you!

In town yesterday GD1 had to return an item to a store, she said on the way she hoped she hadn't to wear a mask as she didn't have one with her, it was fine, no masks in the store.

Plant, it is a hectic life with children at play school etc. I often wonder how we coped when our children were small.

Gem, I hope your friend had a good fund raising day.

                        Oma, you house must sparkle!!

If I have missed a post, sorry!

I want to get the last curtains done today, they are all cut and ready to be hemmed. Then to the library in Delft at 10am, I see they are back to the normal opening times, which I prefer. I hope to get a good ride in this afternoon, my kind of weather! Not too warm. My leg is much better with having the stocking/sock on in bed.

In laws later. Thats all my plans for now.

Gem, your friend has done really well, with the fund raising.

                            Morning Nanto and Mrs Hen

Picking MIL up at 11 take her to SIL's shop see if we can get anything for rugs , i know it will be a waste of time .
She cant find any she likes so SIL said if she likes any of the carpets he will have them cut to size and the edges whipped to make the rugs
If she cant find any amongst the hundreds of carpet samples he has she will never find any

Will bring her back for lunch then back to Dunelm to search for curtains again , she wants plain Grey no linings no texture no shine not dark or light , god knows where we will find unlined or anything in her acceptable range then its the nightmare of new scatter cushions to fine .

Hope everyone is well today its going to be a nice day so they say weather wise xxx

                              Morning everyone.

Oma , MIL certainly knows what she wants and will take no substitutes! If you could find someone who is a whizz with a sewing machine they could make the curtains IF the right fabric could be found.I hope she can see some carpet she likes at least.

Tesco delivery for me this morning
                              .
Like the Daisy household the ironing has been quietly multiplying while my back’s been turned! I must try to put a stop to that today.😀

It’s certainly got an Autumnal feel in the air in the early morning and evening.I’ve been trying to get a few jobs done in the garden these last couple of sunny afternoons.

Enfys I’m sure P put those screws ready for you. I’ve had a few of those sort of moments when I’ve felt G has been around.

                              Have a good day Grannies.

Good morning ladies who got up early and all who follow.

Nanto - ooh, a nice fresh soft-boiled egg for breakfast would be a treat.

Oma - best of luck with the shopping - I've a feeling you'll need it!

Clover - my very house proud DIL has stopped ironing during lockdown! Perhaps we should follow suit.

Lizzie - I'm sure you'll be glad to get the last of those curtains done.

No particular plans for us again today, but the sun's shining even if it is a bit parky at the moment.

                                Have a good day, ladies.
