Gem - it sounds as though you had a lovely time. It's nice to get out in this good weather (it's good here, anyway).

Mimi - I hope your OH has enjoyed his birthday.

Plant - it's a chore chopping up prunings, isn't it, but you can get lots more in if you chop them up really small. I ended up today with a big bag of weeds I'd rather not put on the compost, so I'll have to bag them up tomorrow. Boo hoo! I hope your blood test goes ok.

Daisy, yes it was lovely to be out. It was cloudy, and we needed to wear light fleeces. Far from cold though and fine , which was the main thing.

If it was still Sunday it would have been Mum's 103rd birthday. 33yrs ago the same day OH's Mum died, so funny sort of day really. Mimi I hope your OH enjoyed his day.

Good to catch up with all your news everyone. Good to see you're all Covid free. Keep safe.

Sun is shining. not sure what is on the agenda today.

Had a bad night with mam, didn't get home till about 1.30 this morning.
Took me ages to get off to sleep.
She has degenerative scoliosis, and her spine is is in a very pronounced curve.
It was giving her a lot of pain.
There's nothing you can do really, just be there.
I did give her some paracetamol, but they don't do much.
We've asked the doctor in the past,if he can give her something stronger, but he said no,because of other tablets she takes.
She kept saying i want to last for next couple of days.
It's their 75th anniversary tomorrow. Will ring later and see how she is.

So, its an easy dinner for us. Everything in slow cooker for a beef casserole.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oh poor MIL and poor you Nan2. Some people do get to the stage when they feel they have had enough.
I have scoliosis but not a pronounced curve, it does cause me pain though and sometimes with that and my arthritis in my knee hurting at the same time I feel like saying I don't want to be here! What it must feel like for an old lady who is just at home with nothing much to district her I cant imagine.
I hope she is in less pain soon and enjoys the day tomorrow.
                  Take it easy today Nan2.

Nanto your poor Mil, she is suffering but still determined to celebrate their 75 wedding anniversary.

Although I have my own health problems, I am so pleased I don't suffer from arthritis pain. Can't stop now, will report in later.

Good morning everyone. It's a day for pretty graphics - I love them.

WeeGranny - you and I can share trifles any day - no jelly and lots of sherry is perfection!

Nanto - poor you and poor mum-in-law, too. It's so hard when someone's in pain. I hope you can have a rest this afternoon - you must be exhausted.

Gem - having pain is awful, but when it's in two places it must wear you out.

I've a feeling it might be one of those days today. OH woke at 6 am in agony from cramp in his leg. I shot out of bed to help and went all light-headed. Eva was panic-stricken, because she didn't understand what was happening. Eventually we all calmed down and I didn't wake up till 9 am. I range my friend M to wish her happy birthday - only to find she was upset. Her sister-in-law's dad had died last night - at home. Her mum has dementia so they now need to find a care home for her quickly. This is the brother and SIL who have an adult DD with severe special needs. M is upset and feeling helpless because she can't go up to Yorkshire and help. 'Happy birthday' didn't seem appropriate any more.

I'll drop M's present off when we take Eva to the paddock, but I must post some other birthday cards before then. The post can be collected as early as 9 am but the postie usually does it after he's delivered round our road, so hopefully it will be ok. But I must get on, get showered and dressed and go down to the post box.

                        I'll be back later.

That was a bad start to your day Daisy, I hope it gets better. Can I be included in that trifle please, definitely sherry and no jelly. I like my trifle to be a bit loose is you know what I mean.

Drove to surgery, to find in the car part several small marques, everyone there stood around the car park until their name was called for their blood test. Of course there was one man who arrived stood near to the marque and expected to go straight in, don't know what he thought we were all standing around for. The nurse doing the blood tests was wearing a lovely jazzy pair of trousers and top, she said a friend had made it for her. I have to go back in a fortnight for my injection.

Nan2 so sorry to hear about your mum also sending you hugs x

Just to let everyone know , we have finished off the last of the trifle, regretting now though, I think I have eaten too much .

It's a lovely sunny day here , it's taken ages to get any gardening done as people keep stopping for a chat, whilst keeping the 2 meter distance. Our neighbour says he is looking forward to their son going back to school in June while the other neighbour says she isn't sending her son back until she really has to.
We are so pleased that we don't have to make that agonising decision for our lot. All 4 of our GC have either left school or , as with the two youngest they live in Wales and the youngest doesn't start school till September and the other one isn't in the age range the government has focused on .

                              Keep yourselves safe everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I rung mam earlier and she is feeling a lot better.
Said she felt better after she had a shower this morning.
