Oma, whatever happened to you? I hope your rest day has helped. Have you been left with any ear pain? I bet you gave each other a fright. Take care lovely.

My brother's friend's dad died this afternoon. I wrote about him being admitted into hospital somewhere on here I'm sure. He's been ill some time but admitted to hospital on Sunday. He was tested negative for the virus but the only place they had for him was on a Coronavirus ICU. At least it was quick at the end & I think his son (my brother's friend) was able to be with him. I don't know if him being a priest made any difference.

Myself & DD2's family took part in the virtual Grand National race today. It was televised & I think monies went to the NHS. My DD won but mine came about 7th. A bit of fun.

I'm off to the garden section on here now to see if I can get some help with a gardening problem, before I go out in the garden tomoro.

      Good morning all.
I think the forecast is good today.

Daisy and Nana, an alarm worn around the neck is on order. It was arranged by the OT when she brought the commode and bed guard and arranged the key box (coming tomorrow) and morning visits.
The alarm will only get someone to call me though, so eases my burden none.
This morning I have a virtual meeting with my 3 daughters about mum. OH and I are doing all the physical work, and going back and forth, and worrying. If they can take some of the official things, phone round etc, off my hands that will be great. We all feel mum is neither safe nor happy at home now. Much as I love her my life cannot go on like this. Even if there was no lockdown we couldn't go out for day now. Apart from the morning help, all mum's food, drink, toileting and other requirements are met by me and OH. Even getting her up off the sofa and onto the commode and back is a mammoth task. We need help.

I hope your Sunday treats you well ladies.

Good morning, a very sunny day, I could get a bike ride in before the cycle paths get too busy. You are being kept busy with your mum Gem, I do hope that there is more help soon. It is fine getting older as long as you can cope, I see it often at the place I do voluntary work at, they are fine when being able to do what they are used to. My neighbour from the first floor, 97 years old, still does his own shopping, I saw him going to the Lidl yesterday, he doesn't cook, someone does that for him or he buys ready meals from the butcher. He does get out every day for his exercise which he does enjoy. I must get myself dressed.

            Good sunny Sunday morning everyone.

It looks as though several of us are heading for the garden today. I'm just hoping I can persuade OH to help with some of the heavier jobs - gardening isn't his 'thing'!

Gem - I do hope your DDs can take some of the burden off your shoulders. You really can't go on like this, and your mum needs professional care. It sounds as though she realises this as well. I hope a solution can be found in the next few days for everyone's sake. Sending hugs and love. xxx

Good morning all. It's a sunny day here so I plan to do a bit of gardening but we have to be very careful out there. We have noticed that there are few butterflies about and according to our youngest GS , aged 4, caterpillars turn into butterflies and they then turn into lions 😯, I wouldn't want one of those landing on my head !

I'm cooking roast beef with all the trimmings for lunch today .

We were talking today about birthdays and wedding anniversary and the fact that present giving is going to be difficult. I did think I would give eldest GS who will be 19 a Visa card which has money preloaded on it, but then we are encouraged not to buy unnecessary things on line ,its difficult isn't it. OH has said he was hoping for some new blades for the lawn mower for his birthday. Living the dream than man !

We have noticed that there are several cars parked on the road by us , none of them belong to residents here so we can only assume that some around here have got visitors. Unbelievable, when will people take notice of what is going on not only here but around the world. My SIL is a key worker at our hospital and she says that although staff are trying to be upbeat and positive about it they are actually exhausted. Makes me so angry.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Gemini, what a worry and tiring time for you. One of our local hospitals, used mainly as a clinic now, have opened a ward there for elderly patients, a guiding friend of mine was falling etc just like your mother and they arranged for her to go in there. Sometimes the old cottage hospitals have wards for the elderly. I do hope something can be arranged to take the strain off you both. I thought the other day that if the Coronavirus hadn't stopped you from going on holiday, the situation of your mothers's health would have prevented you from going. At least you still have it to look forward to.

Gem I used to have to go backwards and forwards to dads flat and as you say you love your mum but you can't go on like this , it is physically and emotionally exhausting.

The key safe is a great help , the district nurse was able to let herself in when needed but sadly she wasn't too much help as she would insist on moving his tablets that I had placed around his flat. As he was blind he knew that the tablets in the kitchen were his morning dose, the ones on the side board were his after noon dose and the ones on the side board near the door were his evening dose . She would keep pushing them just out of his reach. Her excuse was leaving tablets around like that was dangerous, any one could take them by mistake. Dad lived on his own. !

I hope you get all the help you so desperately need. Sending you hugs

Dad had a fall today outside. So we had to go round and see to him.
He's grazed the side of his face and scraped the skin off his hands.
Both mam and dad have asked me to start going round like i did before the lockdown started.
I'm happy to it and hubby is happy for me to do it.
No housework has been done,so i dare say there will be a bit of catching up to do.
They haven't had a proper meal for 2 weeks. they've just been bitting and batting,as we say in Yorkshire.
I've got some cottage pies in the freezer,so i'll take one round with me tomorrow.

Just rung to see how dad is. Wanted to make sure he hasn't had any headache.
                                He said he's ok.

Off to write up in what i did today thread.
