Nanto - let's hope the weather is better next Saturday than it's been today.

Gem - what a pity you didn't make it to the cinema, but as you say, there's not much incentive to go out on a cold winter night when you can stay in the warmth with a glass of your favourite tipple or (and) a box of chocolates.

Fingers crossed for the wedding day next Saturday. It's a terrible night out tonight, but I think it's set to improve from Monday.

          Good morning all.
          Happy pets there Nan2

Today we will go to see my mum, and take up the soggy sunroom carpet.
We have to be at DD3's for 6ish. Something to eat and wedding planning! Lots of us in their small house so seats will be at a premuim. Maybe I should take my own

          Have a good day everyone.

            Nanto happy graphic

Not much to do today , had my shower and will pop to Morrisons soon
B wants to go to DIY store for something for his latest project ,
He's turning one of my kitchen drawers into a spice draw and making compartments for them , so I have had to juggle around other spaces to get what was in that draw somewhere else

Its bright but cold out , have a good day ladies xxx

Sunny here but I expect it is cold, Might throw some clothes on and go and tidy up a border, didn't get around to cutting back the plants in the Autumn.

Nanto Your OH back to his boot sales, we don't have them around here except one quite large one in the summer.

That sounds like a good idea Oma, my spices are always in a jumbled up mess and the one I want is always at the back.

Good luck with the wedding planning Gemini, I do hope next Sat is a dry sunny day.

Good morning all. What a day yesterday, we had it all......sunshine, wind, rain, sleet! This morning it is sunny and dry, so a bonus although still a bit chilly.

Yesterday was better for DH, I found him a couple of little jobs...cleaning the silver (sounds very grand, just some sliver plated things I had from my grandparents) then he sorted out the drinks cupboard. We don’t really drink but always bought back something whenever we went abroad so goodness know how old some of the stuff was, so that’s gone.

I made a lemon drizzle cake, Mary Berry’s recipe, my goodness how delicious is that! It was also quite big so half has gone in the freezer.

This morning I’m going to have a good clear out upstairs in the Office/craft room/spare room. Trouble is, I get in there and get sidetracked, so I’ll see how it goes 😀

Good idea about the spice drawer, Oma. Well done, B. Hope the wedding planning goes well, Gem. Taking your own seat sounds like a good plan.

Have a good day everyone 🌞

Good morning all you early risers and all who pop in later.

Enfys - my OH saw the most amazing rainbow yesterday driving across the Forest, went to get his phone out to take a photo, but couldn't find it so we'll never see it! It's bright, sunny and a bit warmer this morning. Spring might be on the way.

I'm glad P is feeling better, and got a couple of useful jobs done. That lemon drizzle cake sounds fantastic. Good old Mary Berry! Good luck with your clearing out - I'm the same always get side-tracked.

Oma - the spice draw sounds a great idea. I've got mine in a little cupboard by the hob, but the one I want is always at the back!

Gem - after all the hard work of taking up your mum's soggy carpet, I'd definitely take a fold up chair to your DD's tonight. I hope all the planning goes well.

Nanto - I hope your OH doesn't get carried away with the excitement of a car boot sale after having a break from them. My OH needs to take loads of stuff to one, but it's difficult on your own, and I hate going but no doubt I'll have to when the weather improves!

Plant - if it stays dry I'm going to do some gardening as well this morning. OH has to go over to DS2's soon, so I've suggested he rings me when he's leaving and Eva and I will meet him at the paddock so she can have a good run round, then we've got visitors this afternoon - just for a cuppa, I haven't got to start baking or anything.

                  Have a good day, everyone.

It might be bright but its so cold the wind is making it colder than it should be ,

We got the bits he wanted for the spice draw , our spices are in a basket in the very top of the kitchen cupboard , if I want any I have to get the step ladders out and there is always some that get stuck behind forgotten about till we take them down and check the date , this way we can get to them and see what needs replacing

There are several boot sales around us we sometimes have a look around mostly for soft toys for Storm , I buy a bag full and wash them , don't know why as he pulls the limbs off and stuffing out in 5 minutes flat

Nanto will he be buying or selling ?

Enfys at least it keeps P busy , I love lemon drizzle ,
B making a Apple Streusel cake today ,
I love as I call proper cake , im not a great lover of cream cakes although I will eat them .

Plant its cold out so wrap up well while in the garden , the sun is deceiving xx

Managed to get the border tidied, cut out all last years dead stalks, it looks much better now. I felt very tired and a bit wobbly, it's the bending over, so I am doing nothing else today. I can now sit and admire it. Lovely sunshine, hope it stays all day and no more hail.

Lemon drizzle cake is one of my favourites too, I have used the Mary Berry recipe too.

Just had a look at the recipe for an Apple Streusel cake Oma, it sounds delicious.

Plant how is your tummy? Have rest after all that bending.
Lemon Drizzle and Apple Struesel Enfys and Oma, lovely!
As I will be the second oldest there tonight (OH being a month older!) I'm sure we will get a seat

Gem - I certainly hope you will get a seat!

All this talk of delicious cakes is making me hungry.

It's still sunny but quite a chill wind has got up. I met OH at the paddock and we gave Eva a good run round before lunch, and then when I got back I went straight into the garden and did a bit of clearing up while OH made a sandwich. There's so much to do, I don't know where to start!

Plant - you've definitely earned a rest this afternoon. You've worked very hard, but it's satisfying when the border looks better, isn't it.

I wonder how Enfys's clearing out is going?

Nanto - did hubby buy anything at the car boot?

Oma - no wonder you needed to make a place for your spices. I would get very fed up if I had to get the stool out every time I needed to reach for mine.

Hubby didn't buy anything at the car boot. A couple of tools he wanted but didn't see any.
Just how many tools does a man need. he's got everything in duplicate.
He's happy though, because he has been pottering in the garden, tidying up.

Oma, spice drawer sounds handy if you have quite a few.
Iv'e seen quite a few spice drawers on facebook.
                            I don't have a lot,just the usual. Ginger,nutmeg,mixed spice,and cinnamon.
They live in a plastic box in my baking cupboard.

Enfys,we like lemon drizzle cake as well. Last time i made one,i put half of it in the freezer.

Gem, maybe a good idea to take your own seat.

Plant, hope you are feeling a bit better.

I would like a spice drawer.

Very very soggy carpet, plus carpet tiles which we beneath that all taken up from Mum's sunroom. Carpet cut up and put in her bin for collection on Friday. We are leaving the carpet tiles outside to dry out, but I doubt they can be salvaged really. The carpet was smelly after being wet all week, and was already old and quite grubby.
Mum was grumpy because now she only has a (painted) concrete floor out there. Give me strength. When the floor dries out fully we will sort something out.

Nice sunny day here. Off to DD's in an hour or so.

Gem - You have my sympathy. I would have thought your mum would be pleased to have got the soggy flooring taken out. Will she have a new carpet do you think, or a hard flooring of some kind?
