Oma, poor Clare, B will really understand how she is feeling. Good idea to turn back when it was so bad.
Lizzie good to hear the wind blew your son safely back!
I hope your mouth is less sore now Plant. It is a great shame you cannot take ibuprofen as for me that is the only drug which worked for dental pain.
We had a lovely afternoon with my auntie. Out for a pub lunch, which was excellent, about 15 minutes drive from her. Then we went back to auntie's and stayed until about 5.30. She is very well, and socialising well with other residents.
We have another date for lunch with her before our holiday.
The weather wasn't bad at all, just a bit of wind and rain - until part way through our drive home when it got wilder. Large trees and dark winding roads almost all the way back, so that made us a bit nervous. We are back safe and sound now .“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning everyone.
Nan2, when we went to the theatre last week the river was halfway up the street. It must be much worse now.
It was raining hard all night here. It does seem calmer now.
My only plan is to go to my mum's today, popping into a supermarket on the way. If the weather gets too bad I won't go but will just phone her.
Have a good day everyone. Avoid the bad weather if you can!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning everyone. It sounds as though Storm Dennis is making his presence felt around the country, but, shhhhhh ....., so far it's calm here. It's raining and our garden is under water again, but virtually no wind. I hope it stays that way, and I hope all our grannies stay safe. Indoors sounds the best place to be.
It's worrying for those who are getting heavy rain and are already close to flooding.
I do hope Clover is ok - there are red warnings for south Wales, and I know she has to get buses to visit G in hospital. Take care, Clover dear. xxx
Lizzie - I'm glad your DS got home safely, and in record time!
Gem - I'm glad you managed to meet up with your auntie, and she sounds very happy in her new home. The drive home sounded scary.
Plant - I hope your mouth is less sore today. I can't take Ibuprofen either so I sympathise.
No particular plans for us today, apart from preparing some training treats for Eva, and <sigh> I suppose I could do some of the ironing.
Stay safe and warm everyone. xx

Good morning. My goodness, what a windy night and pouring with rain non stop. Still raining here but less windy. We have a leak in the garage but DH can’t get round to find out where it is, another job on the list.
Had a nice day yesterday, met up with some ladies from an online knitting group. There are a few of us who live locally so we meet up every now and then for coffee, knitting and chat. 7 of us yesterday and we enjoyed meeting up again. I missed the last one so it was nice to catch up.
Then yesterday evening we had a takeaway with DD etc for SIL, DH and DG’s birthdays. I was going to cook a meal but took the easy way out and ordered a Chinese, and very nice it was too.
Hope everyone is warm and dry and no storm damage. I think more is on its way so take care ☔️"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Good morning ladies ,
its dry hear after a wet night , no wind though thank goodness ,
Gem don't go far you never know how it might turn xx
Nanto I hope your not too effected by all this rain are you in a flood area ?
We were going for Sunday morning coffee with our friends today but James has come down with this awful cold , hes had it since Tuesday thought it might have gone by now but he has been coughing all night , plus we want to avoid it if we can .
So I have put a dark wash on and had a general flick through with a duster and hoover , had a shower and there isn't much to do apart from wash the floors and I will do them after tea .
Im going to put my chopping boards in a bucket of bleach and let them soak for a hour , I find these hard plastic anti bac ones stink after a while no matter how well you wash them after use .
How are we all today ?
Clover & WG how's it going ?
Enfys how is P today too .
Lizzie have you spoke to your DS since he got home is he ok x
Daisy has any trees come down in the forest that J can get for his wood turning ? I suppose the foresters wont have been out yet with the high winds they wont want to put themselves in danger .
Have a good day ladies xxxIm not fat just 6ft too small

Very calm here, we had wind and rain during the afternoon and evening but think we must have missed the worst of the storm. Sil must have rescued the fence because it is still standing.
I hope lovely York survived the worst of the storm and the flooding. Feel so sorry for those who have been flooded twice already.
Mouth still painful, kept me awake, I shall be taking painkillers and doing nothing apart from a bit of knitting again today. Don't feel much like posting, will catch up later.

I hope you find something nicer than ironing to do today Daisy!
Chinese takeaway night sounds lovely Enfys
Oh Plant, I do feel for you. Please don't worry about trying to post when you don't feel up to it. You are one of our stalwarts (the rest of you know who you are!) who keep this forum alive. Take as much time as you need. Maybe if the pain is no better tomorrow phone your dentist though?
Oma, don't worry mum only lives 3 miles away so I won't be going far.
We had a heavy rainstorm an hour or so ago but all calm again now. More rain has come through the bay window roof, so we have old towels on the sill. They said they would be able to do it in the next week or so.
OH has requested some reflexology so I will do that today. We have new washing machine arriving tomorrow, so I suppose we will have to get the other one out today as well!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Lizzie yes tried that and salt & lemon etc , I think its the anti bac coating it holds onto the smells , I try to change them every year or so but in mean time I dip them in bleach and it seems to help
Plant I agree with Gem if you remember I had a infection in mine after only 2 days , always best to check rather than be in pain xx
