Morning. Plant I'm thinking about you. Hopefully it's nearly done. Thinking about all you ladies with medical appointments too. If ever I get an 'urgent' appointment & it comes back months away I ring back & ask to be put on the cancellation list. Not all places do it but it's worth a try.

Finger's crossed the storm isn't too bad as we're planning to have GD's belated tea party here on Saturday & OH has to drive to collect DD1 & her boys. Hope you all have a good day today.

Nana, my friend who works at the hospital suggested the cancellation list tactic for me regarding my knee.
As I am not very flexible with all my childcare commitments, and I in fact don't want my injection any earlier so it's effective for my holiday, it's not for me. Good idea for those it works for though.

I have been having a really bad ibs flare up this last couple of days. I hope it passes soon as it is very painful and makes me feel very washed out. It's lucky I have a free day today and can rest.

Take care Gem. IBS isn't nice & underrated in my opinion.

Back from the dentist, felt very nervous this time which isn't like me. I really didn't feel the injections and didn't feel the tooth coming out. Worth every penny, he was a specialist dentist. Quite pleased my DD came with me. I am not allowed anything hot and only mushy food for 24 hours. Brandy is a mushy food isn't it?

Well done, Plant, glad it’s over.

Nurse said my ECG looked absolutely fine but the doctor will look at it and get in touch if he feels I need any more investigation. I have been much better these last few days so fingers crossed.

WG, as you say goodness how long it would have taken for non urgent appointment.

Enfys,it's good that the nurse thought your results were fine.Hopefully the doctor will say the same.

Plant, brandy is definately a mushy food.

Gem,hope you feel better soon, and the same to anyone feeling under the weather.

                      That's good Enfys.
Oma and Nan2 thanks. Oma, no I usually know what the trigger is but not this time. I haven't had so bad a bout for years.I have spent this afternoon on the sofa with a hot water bottle. I was in pain most of the night but did get some sleep when the cramps eased off.

Thanks Oma. I feel so fortunate that I had an easy day. Friday is usually my busiest, but because DD needed to change the day to Monday this week, it meant I could rest.

Hello everyone. We're back home and I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to go online while we were up in Leek. It was very busy. I'll write about it in my Journal.

I've just spent an enjoyable half hour catching up with all your news this week!

Oma - I'm so glad your DD is fine, but as you say, better to check and be told by the doctor that it's ok.

Plant - your dentist sounds very professional, and I'm sure you were also very brave. I'm sure brandy would count as a mushy food, but it probably isn't great on cornflakes for breakfast tomorrow!

Gem - how disappointing that the Alan Aykbourn play was boring, especially as S had gone with you. I wonder if your IBS has been triggered by your cold and sore throat, plus coping with the pain in your knee. I always feel a bit queasy and 'not quite right' in the tummy department if I get a cold, but if you suffer from IBS like you do maybe it can trigger that. I hope you're soon feeling better though. xx

Clover - I'm glad you're able to pop in from time to time, and quite understand you don't feel much like chatting. Sending love and hugs.

Enfys - I'm sure the nurse wouldn't have said she thought your ECG looked fine if she had any doubts, but it will be good to have her opinions confirmed. xx It's a busy week-end for you with two birthdays to celebrate. I hope storm Dennis doesn't spoil any of your plans for Saturday.

WeeGranny - yes, definitely better to wait for warmer weather for your trip to the West Country. I'm pleased your OH's blood were good, but what a long time to wait for an 'urgent' eye appointment. Did he get this by being referred by his GP? When my OH was diagnosed with vascular AMD it was by the opticians. He had the routine check up on the Thursday lunch-time, and got a phone call on the Friday for an appointment at the Eye Clinic on the Monday morning. I'm not sure what your OH's check up is for but I'd definitely query it with the hospital. Three months is a long time to wait.

Nana - we've found it's useful to phone and ask for a cancellation as well - good advice. I do hope the weather doesn't spoil your plans for GD birthday party. She would be very disappointed, and I'm sure you will have done a lot of work in preparation.
