Pouring with rain here. We have flood warnings for South Yorkshire.
Where we are,we are higher up than a lot of areas,so we should be ok.

Enfys, thinking of you and P today.

Good morning Nan2, Oma and everyone else.

Thinking of Enfys, WG and anyone waiting for results and sending all best wishes.

Here it is very wet. I don't know if OH will get onto the golf course this afternoon.
I will be at my mums all afternoon. Her new gas fire is due to be fitted sometime from 1. I will need to be there before that. Once it is in and mum settled in front of it, I will go and do her shopping for her.

Good morning everyone from the sunny south (at the moment). Nanto - I do hope the rain stops soon. It must be awful sitting wondering if your home is about to be flooded and there's nothing you can do about it. Glad you are on higher ground. xx

Enfys sending love, hugs and hope. xx

WG - any news yet on when your OH might get his results? It must be horrendous having to keep waiting and waiting. xx

Gem - I do hope your mum's happy with her new gas fire this afternoon.

We've got friends coming for dinner tonight so I think most of my day will be in the kitchen. I'm making beef in beer with herby dumplings. OH bought some potatoes for mashing yesterday that I'd never heard of. I'll report back when I find out what they're like. I can't remember the variety! I've got apples ready prepared in the freezer so I'm doing an apple and blackberry tart with custard for pudding, plus a birthday cake as it's one of our friend's birthday. I'm going to use the last of my home-grown melons for a starter with smoked salmon and prawns. I hope I've chosen some of the birthday boy's favourites.

Oma, I put the photo on my media last night, for those not on FB or Instagram. Yes, I was glad I wasn't the one driving home last night! We were happy to get in.
Lizzie, I agree, Daisy's menu sounds delicious

No, Its OK. I just prefer media as you can choose who sees them, anyone can see them in this section. Not that we are undercover spies or anything though

                    Morning all.

Overcast this morning but not actually raining !

We might go to the “oldies” cinema this afternoon .It’s a science fiction which OH likes (but will forget the minute we step outside )Hopefully he’ll remember he enjoyed it. I do need a few things in town as well.

I hope it’s a good day for all especially those worrying and waiting xx

Gloomy old day here, but it's dry at the moment! May be forced to give the dining room a good clean, it's either that or the kitchen!!!

Hoping Enfys and OH get good news .

Daisy, DS's latest GF's mother develops new strains of melons. She has several green houses at home, but works in a lab. DS says there all sorts growing in the greenhouses! Different coloured flesh, flavours etc. Not a great melon lover myself, though I love it when on holiday especially when it's really fresh and juicy!

Daisy your menu sounds scrummy. Still raining here. All jobs done. Cleaned all downstairs. Bedding changed and washed. Bedrooms cleaned. Getting hungry now. Cottage pie in the oven for dinner.

I'm staying put, knitting. Hope to finish off GS3's HP jumper. Hope it's better news for Mr Enfys than he's expecting. Hope your OH gets his results soon WG. Wondering if Clover went to the cinema. A good way to stay warm & cosy on a day like we're having ... dull & drizzle. Still it is the Lakes. 😉Hope you're all having a good day.

                            Good afternoon all .
Well it’s been all go here. In the early hours of the morning we discovered that we had no water.
I looked on the Welsh Water site and it said the water will be back on by 9am .
Several hours later we are still with out water.
Apparently it’s proving to be a big problem. There are two big leaks and the pipes are very close to the electrical cables so it’s taking twice as long to repair. At the moment we are looking at late tonight or mid morning tomorrow before it will be repaired.
When we got early this morning so that OH could pop to the shop to buy some bottle water. I had to put on my wellies and get to the top of the garden to fill buckets from the water butt to ‘flush’ the toilet with.
Just after breakfast our neighbour knocked on the door with a bottle of water for us. She had gone the shops filling her shopping trolley with water bless her to give out to the neighbours.
Just now the young woman who lives a few door down also came to the door with a bottle of water . She had be to the Welsh Water bottle station set up at our local Tesco.
She said she was getting water for the young families and older people. No guessing what category we fit in .
It just shows that there are still some lovely people around.

We went to town this morning to do some shopping and we had lunch in town as it’s hard to cook without any water.
Also we can’t run the central heating, but we have an electric fire in the sitting room so we should be ok. Later I am going to get the electric convector heaters from out of the cupboard and give one to my neighbour as she hasn’t any other form of heating.

All this inconvenience is nothing compared to what Enfys and P and some of our other ladies and their families are dealing with right now. My heart goes out to each and every one of them x
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Daisy, we aren't worried about flooding.
