Been shopping with OH......need a large G&T now! He just about drove me to despair, but we did get everything he needs for our trip. Unfortunately, I didn't! May try and pop into town after my hospital appointment tomorrow.

Torrential rain through night and this morning but sun shining now and I've hung some washing out which should dry in this wind.

Hope all went well with Clover, Plant and Gem's OH at their check ups.x

Back from dentist, one hour in chair, I now have a temporary crown and a frozen face and tongue. Would love a cup of tea but dare not risk it yet. Bedroom furniture now scattered between garage, spare room and my bed is in the sitting room in place of the dining table and chairs which are in the garage. Vertical blinds are in the bath and the curtains waiting to be washed. Decorator coming tomorrow morning, I shall be pleased to get away to Birmingham.

There re seems to be a lot of you or your OH's having tests, hope all the results are good. Pleased to hear Enfys you have someone qualified to give you support.

The news is is full of Thomas Cook and Boris.

Enfy's I'm glad you and OH enjoyed spending time with the cousins.
            Good news about B Oma.
WG, my OH's check up is on Thursday, but she nipped into Asda for her blood taking today.
Plant, wise to give the hot drinks a miss until the numbness wears off!
Rhubarb crumbles are very popular in our house Nan2.

OH played 4 holes before the whistle went to take everyone off the course. She was like a drowned rat!
I drove through lashing rain to collect GS, but by the time I parked to walk up to school, it had stopped.

Tiring day for me today.Work this morning but I left early to have a quick bite to eat and get changed before hospital trip.Usual long wait, clinic running way behind . Bloods more or less steady but my spleen is larger so I’m to have a scan. If my haemoglobin goes any lower the dreaded chemo is on the cards. The only good thing is the next appointment will be another 4 months.Must try to put it all to the back of my mind until I have to think about it!

Gem I really hope all goes well for S at her check up on Thursday.

Plant I hope you had a reasonable time at the dentist. At least it’s done now.

Being lazy I’ve just popped a pizza in the oven.Too tired to do anything else.

                    Evening All.
We have just been to see Downton Abbey. Most enjoyable. O H decided we should go on the bus! I have no idea why. This in itself was illuminating! Coming home, we had to sit at the back next to a young man who had his feet on the opposite seat. I pointed out to him that someone would have to sit there and he should take his feet off. He grunted and took them off eventually. The lady next to me was trying hard to contain her laughter. It made me wonder how he behaves at home! What with him and the young lady speaking very loudly on her phone for the whole journey I don’t think we will go by bus again for a while.
I hope everyones scans and tests are ok, I have a few coming my way in the next few weeks.
The diet is already slipping, too bad!
If I don’t get back, have a lovely time in Brum ladies.

Oma - don't worry about wine for Brum - I've got it organised and with travelling by car carrying it won't be a problem. The wine glasses would be great if you can fit them into your case. I'll also bring nibbles etc.

I have spent the day feeling worn out and with my temperature going up and down, so I didn't take Eva to training tonight and I'm off to bed.

Clover - I know you can't help worrying about things - we're all the same. Putting it to the back of your mind is the best thing, but I've just had a quick Google search to see if there's any dietary advice to help the spleen and found this: it might be worth checking with your Consultant to see what he/she thinks.

Sesame, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, legumes, kidney beans, lightly cooked vegetables, small amounts of lean meats, figs, coconuts, grapes, cherries, dates, potatoes, sweet potatoes, brown rice, oats, rice, ginger, spring onions and pu'er tea are among the best
                      foods

Well, it aint raining, not cold either.

Plant,we can manage without or spleen. One of our neighbours had hers removed years ago.
Grauntie, that was an eventful bus ride.
Daisy, hope you are feeling better today.

In laws this morning, then an appointment with Tui this afternoon.

                              Nice cheerful picture Nan2 .

Its been raining most of the night and it doesn’t look as if it’s going to stop anytime soon.

My appointment at the drs didn’t go quite as I expected. I assumed he would just review my meds and wave me on my way but I just happened to mention my painful fingers and pins and needles when things got serious.
At first he was going to book me in for a blood test but he decided to take the blood himself as I would have to wait at least 3 weeks to see the nurse. He will ring me if I show positive for rheumatoid arthritis. I have also got to have an X-ray on my hands as he is unsure about the swelling on my one finger although most of them are now misshapen and painful.
When I got outside I rang for a taxi to take me home but I was informed that as the ‘school run’ was on there was no available cars for at least half an hour. I can walk home in 20 mins so that’s what I decided to do . Well that was a huge mistake. My arthritic toes decided to play up , the pain was almost unbearable, heaven only knows what I must have looked like hobbling home.
It was my own fault I suppose as the boots I was wearing was completely unsuitable for my needs now. Anyway, they are now consigned to the charity bag and I have ordered a pair of Hobbs black boots , wide fitting with a rounded toe , so no more squashed toes. Theses unglamorous boots don’t come cheap do they, what with the dentist Monday and boots yesterday my purse is looking rather empty!

Daisy how are you feeling today

Clover try not to dwell too much on your news . Hopefully your haemoglobin improves.

I don’t know much about the spleen but I do recall that a cousin of OH’s was in a traffic accident when she was a teenager and she had her spleen removed. She is now a fit 40+ year old. She was in the army for about 20 years .

Grauntie was the film good. I would like to see it but if I go with OH I know for certain would fall asleep in the cinema. I might well wait till it comes on Sky or Amazon Prime. If it’s out on Netflix then I am stuck.
You were brave telling that idiot to take his feet off the seat, with some of the weirdos we get on the busses here you daren't look them in the eye let alone speak to them.

I really must get some washing done to day, the wash basket is overflowing, there are only the two of us here, I do wonder where it all comes from.

Have a a restful day ladies.

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

                                Good morning grannies.

Mimi .I’m glad you remembered to mention your additional symptoms and the doctor took notice. That walk home sounded excruciating. It must have felt twice as long when you were in pain.

                                Daisy I hope you’re feeling better after a good ( I hope) night’s sleep.

Nanto I hope Tui can sort out your holiday. They’ve had a few days to work something out.

GD had a ridiculously early , 3.45 a.m start to a school trip to Iceland of all places It’s supposed o be a Geography/Geology trip but GD isn’t even taking these subjects With the list of warm clothes she had to take you would think she was off to the Arctic, well I suppose she is heading that way. It’s amazing where schools take the pupils these days and L is fortunate that her parents can afford them.

Just had a letter to say my bowel screening test was fine so that’s a relief.

Sun is shining here.A welcome sight after yesterday’s torrents. Might not last but it’s a start.
Must change a light bulb now before I forget and only remember when it goes dark tonight. Also Tesco delivery soon

                                Have a good day.
