Haven't been on for a few days but have been lurking!
Clover : sorry to hear that things aren't going too well at the moment with OH and the roof. Hopefully roof can get sorted before we have any more rain.Sending hugs x
Gem : take it easy after your physio session yesterday and don't overdo it. You won't be any good to anybody if you can't get around. IF the exercises aren't helping or are causing you pain elsewhere, phone the physios and tell them. They should be able to adapt the exercise to help rather than hinder. Pleased too that DD has been given the all clear.
Plant : hope your AF gets sorted out quickly. Can't be a very nice feeling for you. Our surgery is under temporary management because of a threat to patient safety. So we're lucky if we can get to see anybody there. Seems it's staffed by locums at the moment and people are being referred to another clinic which is only accessible by car! Not much good if you don't drive.
Nana : pleases you're reducing the number of clinics you've been visiting! Hope your health continues to improve.
Daisy: hope that OH's sight isn't causing too many problems. I think he's very brave having the injections, but if it's helping to save his sight then it has to be done. A friend of mine, a retired GP has the same thing, but she's been told by NHS that her sight isn't bad enough to warrant regular injections. She knows herself that she needs them more often than NHS recommend so she goes privately and has them done.
Anyone that I've not mentioned, I am thinking about you and hoping all is well with you and your families xxBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

Hello all.
Congratulations Oma , lovely news. There is something heartwarming about the news of a new baby .
Well the old cystitis came back with a vengeance today. I went to the chemist to see what they suggested and I was advised it was best to ring my GP. To be fair after I rang and explained to the receptionist the problem a dr soon phoned me back and he sent a prescription to the chemist I had just previously come from. I now have a 5 day course of antibiotics to take and hopefully they will kick in soon .
Also today I noticed that when I have my glasses on I could see something in the corner of my one eye. It was the tiny screw in the arm of my glasses. When I took the glasses off I couldn’t see it but I could feel in with my fingers.
I asked OH could he see it, now he couldn’t see it with his glasses on but he could when he took them off !!
Now imagine the scene, OH had got his shaving mirror with the magnifying side focused on the arm of the glasses trying to screw down but with his fat fingers he couldn’t hold the small screwdriver so I had a go. I put on a very old pair of my glasses on in the vain hope that I would be able to see better , I could at a pinch but I couldn’t hold the screwdriver also because of the arthritis in my fingers. Honestly, you couldn’t make it up, we must have looked ridiculous. Anyway we have sort of fixed it until I can get to town and pop into Specsavers.
Clover sending you lots of hugs.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Congratulations Oma and family! A new baby, always cause for celebration
Mimi, I had to smile! Not about the awful cystitis though, I hope the antibiotics kick in really soon. I feel for you.
My OH kindly did all my Mum's shopping for me as I didn't think I could manage. I just went straight to mums and she brought the shopping along later and stayed for a cuppa with us.
I hope to be able to bring down mums Christmas boxes next time I go.I am cancelling my January appointment with that physiotherapist, I'm not going through this again!
OH has left for her golf club Christmas dinner. I have salmon and a baked potato in the oven, Pinto Grigio chilling in the fridge.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Clover - no wonder you're feeling stressed and fed up with everything. You've got a lot of responsibility on your shoulder and no proper support. It sounds as though you're at the stage of not having energy for anything and you really need some help. I'm sure we've talked about this before, but is there any support in the community, say a day care centre G could go to sometimes. Even one day a week would give you a break and chance to ease the burden. I know you love him but you can't cope night and day, 7 days a week. Also it's important to take care of your own health, and it's hard to do that when you're so worn out. How I wish we were closer! Sending you a very big hug. xxx

Oma, congratulations to all the family.
Clover, i'm not surprised you are feeling as you do.
You've got a lot on your plate. Will you be seeing your family again soon.
Like Daisy, i wish i lived near you. We couldn't change things, but we could be a shoulder to cry on.
Gem good og OH to do mums shopping for you.
Hope she enjoys her dinner out.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma - many congratulations you Great-Aunt, you! I hope mum and son are doing well. Will you get to see him for a cuddle at some time? I wonder how long things can carry on like this with your neighbour. It's awful for you and the elderly neighbours the other side, and also dreadful for the woman herself and her family.
Mimi - thank goodness you've got anti-biotics for the vengeful cystitis. I'm sure you don't feel much like laughing but I had to giggle at the thought of your and your OH trying to combine your faculties to put a tiny screw in your glasses! One of my OH's best buys last year was a magnifying lens with a very bright light on a stand to leave your hands free. It won't help with fat fingers or arthritis, but it helps you to see the near-invisible!
Gem - how kind of S to do your Mum's shopping. Have a nice relaxing evening with your dinner and Pino Grigio. xx
Wee Granny - my OH is very lucky that the AMD isn't bad enough to affect his sight, and the vision in his other eye is very good. I wonder if your retired GP friend is a victim of Post Code Lottery as far as treatment is concerned.
Plant - the new doctor you've seen sounds very thorough. I do hope a change of tablets will stop the AF. It must be a horrible sensation. xx
Lizzie - I bet you're looking forward to Monday night with your GDs. It will certainly be a busy day - everything happens at once, doesn't it. Do the two girls get on well together?
I'm enjoying a glass of Merlot and sole control of the remote this evening - and there's nothing much I want to watch. Typical.

Well what a lot has happened since I last looked on here earlier today. Congrats to you Oma, new Mummy & all the family. New baby ... ooooo💕 Gem sorry about you feeling so rotten. You sound in a right state. Mimi the big spec laugh sounds as though it was a booster for how yuk you're feeling. Hope all you poorlies get better soon.
Clover, you sound really exhausted. I'm so sorry you feel so low & in such a dark place. Sometimes anti-deps need revising. Maybe call in to see your GP? Like others have said, it's a pity that we don't live closer. Sending love.xx"Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Clover it does sound as if you need some support, do you talk to your family about your problems.
Oma, Congratulations to you Gt Nephew and his wife, lovely name Archie.
It does sound as if the physio has stirred up another problem Gemini. Perhaps you should let them know why you have cancelled the next session.
On my Facebook it says it is Qwerty's birthday. Have I missed it?
I have been to a social evening with my neighbours who live in the road. We met in the village hall, they are a friendly crowd, not everyone attended. We have a committee and meet once a year to discuss any problems. We pay an annual subscription to pay insurance and maintenance of the road. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
