Everywhere is really busy isn't it Daisy? DD1 and family had a few days in Whitby this week. It was so busy they only spent early mornings and evenings there, they had to drive to quieter spots for most of the days. I have been trying to find a cottage or similar for OH and I for a few days. There seems to be nothing much before November!
I suppose all those holiday makers (including us) who would normally be flying off somewhere are wanting some sort of break between lockdown and winter.

Sun is shining. Got a load of light colours in the washer.

Daisy, the supermarket was the busiest i have seen it for a few weeks.

Gem, i saw the photos o the internet of the house that got struck by lightning.
It must be devastating for them. Thankfully nobody was hurt.

Good Sunday morning, Nanto and all who call in later. I wondered if the supermarket would be busy - there seem to be more people around generally.

It's a lovely sunny morning, with the promise of being quite warm later, although the forecast doesn't agree with me. We're off to DS1's today to celebrate GS1's birthday. It will be lovely to see them.

Oma - I hope you're feeling a bit better - but you still need lots of rest and sleep!

Enfys, if you're looking in, you and P are in my thoughts. Sending hugs.

Clover - are you now able to see your sons under the Welsh restrictions? I do hope so. xx

        Have a good day everyone.

Oma, how lovely to go out to tea and no better place than your DD's house
We went to a lovely village called Newton On Ouse maybe 6 Miles or so away. Parked at the end of the village and walked to the river, had a nice walk then a long sit and picnic.

Thinking of Enfys and P too.
I echo Oma, anyone dropping by, say hello, we love to hear from everyone - it is never too late to just dip back in again!

I didn't hear any thunder in the night and it doesn't look like we have had any rain. Did a bit of gardening this morning then joined DD & Sil for a lovely ride and a pub lunch in the garden. We are back now, time for a cup of tea and a sit down with knitting. Invitation for us to go to DS and Dil for lunch tomorrow so all in all a lovely family weekend.

Gemini, enjoy your drive and picnic. so sorry for those people with a lightning strike.

Plums are still on the trees, Vics not ripe yet but I need to find homes for the purple ones this week. I think a friend of my DD's would like some.

Not so warm and humid today but still very pleasant.

That was quick for DD getting an offer and finding another house, Gemini. Hope it all goes smoothly for them.

Oma, you are not used to sleeping so much, enjoy it whilst it lasts. What effect did that gland have on your health?

I wrote that yesterday but didn't post it because I was interrupted.

Looking like another warm sunny day, DD, Sil and I are going to DS and Dil's for, I think, a BBQ. I might fit in some gardening before we go.

Have a lovely tea and cake at DD's Oma.

Daisy, have a lovely time celebrating your GS's birthday, is that the GS who likes to build electrical items. Is that gravel bank with water near to the Bulmer Lawn Hotel?

Good morning Nanto and later comers.

Not a lot to report from this neck of the woods.

I have accepted an estimate to have the house re-roofed. It’s a very large amount of money and I could have gone for a different option of just the front which takes the brunt of the weather being done,re-using the old tiles over new felt. However I thought it best to bite the bullet and get it all done with new tiles etc. I hope I hear soon when work can start. Due to the current situation (a good excuse I sometimes think) it’s been a slow process getting the surveyor first of all and then the estimate etc. I just want to get on with it now.

Someone? Daisy asked if my sons could visit indoors now. Yes at last it’s allowed and DS1 and partner came on Saturday. We had a lovely walk and general chat. It certainly made the day pass quickly, the time just flew by!

I’ve still been going for daily walks of varying distances depending on how I feel.

Enfys and P have been in my thoughts.

                          Oma do take it easy.

My GS ( of the broken arm) is still having trouble moving it fully due to it still hurting. I think he definitely needs physio but none has been offered or suggested. DD must chase something up. She sent photos of the scars on either side of his arm .It certainly was a big op!

Must get going now. Have a good day ladies and enjoy the sun if you get any. X

                            Good morning ladies

Nanto can’t beat a nice Jacket potato can you

Clover a very expensive job but then you have peace of mind for the future ,
Poor GS he is having a hard time of it isn’t he , he must be sick of it now .

Sun is out I don’t know for how long though haven’t looked at local forecast yet this morning .

We going to venture to Wilko at our shopping centre today , they open at 8 So get up for then and back quickly before it gets busy and while I have a little energy .

                              Good morning one and all.

We got back home too late to post last night, but I'll write about it in "what I did today' later.

Jacket potatoes and prawns - lovely! Enjoy, Nanto.

Plant - yes, you're absolutely right about the Beach being in Balmer Lawn Road! In fact the bungalow where OH was cutting the tree is also on that road, further up, and the cars were parked on both sides, and on the track that runs off into the forest! (It's a narrow Forest road, for those who don't know it)

Clover - I think you've made the right decision to have the whole roof done. It gives you peace of mind, and that's important, and you don't want to be wakening up to leaks next winter. Poor F - he must be so fed up with his arm hurting still. I hope he can get some physio to help. Yes, it was me who was asking about family visits. I'm so glad you've been able to see DS1 and his partner, and it's good you're getting out for a daily walk.

Oma - I hope your trip to Wilko is ok, but don't overdo things. It must have been great to see DD and family and spend time with them.

It's a beautiful sunny day here. My friend M is calling round for a coffee this morning - we haven't seen each other for 2 weeks, which is unheard of except during the early days of Lockdown! It will be great to catch up with her. This evening it's the weekly dog walk, which I'm looking forward to.

Take care ladies - thinking of all those who we know are going through difficult times. xx
