Enfys - I'm sure the surgery were fine about you missing the appointment - they would know you don't make a habit of it, and some poor overworked doctor was probably glad to have an extra 10 minutes. I hope all goes well tomorrow.

I don't know why fish and chip shops serve up such large portions. We usually get two fish, two peas and one portion of chips.

Gem - so glad your mum and sister were both ok today. It must be a relief for you on both counts. Relax and enjoy your night away, even if the weather forecast is pretty awful.

Clover, I know it isn't what you'd choose but you are getting to be an expert at these DIY jobs. Well done. Mind that poorly toe tonight if you do a bathroom trip in the dark.

Nanto - enjoy your new car. I'm loving mine.

Plant - did you do the dusting?

OH had another eye injection today, Oma. It went as well as it ever does. It seems to wipe him out for the rest of the day and the next as well. He's been dozing in the chair since we got back, although he did have a rude awakening when Eva came flying in from the garden and jumped on his lap for a cuddle - it was pouring with rain and she was soaked! LOL The roads were incredibly quiet today - it was so unusual!

My back's been fine - I cut the lawn again this afternoon, just before the rain started and did a bit of weeding.

Nanto - your comment didn't sound mean. I think it must be hard when you know you can get called on at any time, and a bit of 'you' time must feel very precious.

It didn't sound mean Nan2, Daisy is right. Those of us with older relatives dependant on us know that dread of the phone ringing, and never fully knowing we have a day to ourselves. It's not that we don't love them, or that we resent them, it's just we need and deserve some time to ourselves.
        Poor OH Daisy
Clover, I hope the toe is a bit less painful.

Yesterday the GP asked how my carpel tunnel pain was. I told her it was better after the injection, but not gone. I said I knew I could have another injection, but it wasn't at that stage yet. Talk about speaking too soon. Today it has been so painful I have winced a couple of times, and driving wasn't comfortable. Left wrist, left knee, left breast, most of my ibs pain on the left. I think the left hand side of me needs rubbing out and redrawing!!
On that cheerful note I will say goodnight
        Sleep well ladies

Oma -I thought you might have a giggle over Eva! We (ie the rest of the family) have been trying to get J to get a better phone. His is so decrepit that you can't use things like Google Contacts on it. He saves contacts to the phone, so if he loses it or breaks it he'll lose all of them. He can't send photos on it, it's really tiny and fiddly, and he says nobody ever rings him so there's no point in switching it on!! Oh, and he hates texting. DS1 tried very hard at the week-end to get him to see how illogical it all is, but he still clings to it! I wouldn't mind but he gives my phone number out to all and sundry because his doesn't work very well. B's new phone sounds amazing.

Oma I have a Samsung Galaxy which is about 3yrs old. I really like it. To change the size of the writing this is what I do, not sure if it's the same on yours.

Good morning all. As forecast ,it’s raining here, has been most of the night.

We went to town yesterday to buy myself and OH some new clothes for the up and coming Wedding next month and what a waste of time that was. OH did manage to get a shirt from TKMaxx but that’s all.
I wanted some trousers to go with my purple top but every shop we went in didn’t have any in my size .
When we came home I was able to get OH a jacket and trousers and trousers from Debenhams on line and a pair of sandals and a bra from M and S on line .
Not doing a lot today as my toes were so painful last night from all the walking yesterday, just waiting for Tesco grocery and a general potter about to keep moving as sitting too long only makes things worse.

Enfys it’s understandable how you could forget your appointment, you have a lot on your mind, I’m sure your GP understands.

Oma I like the sound of B’s new phone, it’s the reverse in our house, OH has a basic phone which , as the same as Daisy’s OH , he hardly ever uses it as he says no one ever rings him.... no one ever rings him because he won’t answer it.... !
I don’t use my phone much for internet browsing but I do ask it to phone family, taxi etc, it’s quicker than scrolling through the list of contacts. Also my camera on it is far superior than my actual camera .
It is 3years + and is showing signs of needing replacing but I am putting off getting a new one till it completely dies on me as a new phone is so flipping expensive

                Have a nice day everyone

Good morning one and all. We've had some much needed rain overnight, and much as I hate to say it, it's looking autumnal today! The conker tree outside our house is already losing its leaves, and several parts of the garden are beginning to look a bit tired.

Mimi - we should get our OHs to ring each other! We're the same - I have the smart phone, the 'big' computer etc and OH avoids all tech stuff as much as he can. I hope your toes are feeling less painful this morning. A feet up day for you, today, young lady.

Gem - ouch - it sounds as though all down your left side is painful. Have you been overdoing things? I hope it doesn't spoil your night away.

Clover - how is your toe?

OH is still half asleep, so I don't know how is eye is yet - it's often quite painful the first morning after an injection. I took him a cup of tea about half an hour ago, and I'll go and get Eva to sit on his chest in a minute - that usually wakes him up quite well.

I'm glad I got the lawn cut yesterday. I've got a few errands to do this morning and then I hope to go to GD1's performance this afternoon. She's done a week of circus skills and performance and they're doing a show for a local care home this morning and then family and friends this afternoon. She's had a wonderful week.

                    Good morning everyone.

It sounds as though most of us have this wet weather.
Mimi, try to keep off your sore toes today!
Daisy, I think it's just that coincidentally everything wrong is the left side. The breast cancer, the knee and the carpel tunnel! I will survive, I am often in pain and try not to moan much, but sometimes you have to - and then get on!
I hope you enjoy your GDs show and, even more importantly that she does!

DD2 is still in Greece, so no GC today. Today we are going to Halifax again, having been with friends last Sunday to Shibden Hall. We decided that it needed more time than we have on this trip to fit that in too (and we are very glad we did as today is wet) OH wants to see the Piece Hall in Halifax, so that is where we are headed. New to me too as all I know in Halifax is the wonderful children's museum Eureka.
Then on to Ilkley where we are staying the night, next to a gin lounge (I will be having one for Zizi) Tomorrow we will spend time in Ilkley. Just a short trip, originally planned for our anniversary 4 months ago.

                    Happy Friday everyone.

Sounds like an interesting trip Gemini, have a lovely time.

Hope your OH's eye isn't feeling too painful daisy, how many more injections does he have to have.

I am still finding out what my new phone can do Mimi but I doubt I will use barely a quarter of what it offers. I would hate it to ring when I am out so I keep it on silent most of the time. I consider it is for me to use not other people.

We seem to have had a lot of rain during the night but it is sunny now. tummy and back muscles a bit painful from gardening yesterday, pleased did it in time for the rain. GD2 and I are going on a few errands today, she has a day off and her partner is in Edinburgh.

                        Clover, how is the toe?

Poured with rain all night and it’s very cool this morning. I didn’t forget my appointment Oma, left myself a note by the kettle 🙂. My cholesterol has come down quite a lot so I’ll stay on the tablets. She also had a look at my shoulder and agreed that it was probably a trapped nerve. It’s much better so she told me to gently exercise it so it doesn’t stiffen up.

How is OHs eye this morning Daisy?

Not much planned for today but DH fancies going out somewhere so that’s what we’ll do. Otherwise, nothing planned. Have a good day everyone 🌞

Oma, in laws were ok today. 2 days to charge my batteries before i go again.

                            Gem,enjoy your little break.

Nanto - I'm sure I'd near more than 2 days to recharge my batteries if I had the care responsibilities you and Gem have.

Enfys - it's been showery and blustery here this morning, but quite warm in the sun. I went for a routine blood test and just as I came out of the hospital the heavens opened - and I'd left the roof open on my car! What a drip!!!

Gem - I'm sure you're going to make the most of your short break - it all sounds fun. Have a G&T for me as well to toast (Zizi).

Oma - we've got toy from our children's childhood as well. We keep threatening to take them to their houses and put them in their lofts because every time we say we'll get rid of them they plead with us to keep them!

Plant - take it easy today. It will be lovely to have some time with GD1 on her day off. Are you going out for lunch together?

Thanks for asking, ladies - OH's eye isn't too bad today. It's difficult to get him to take it easy though, because it feels ok. Men!

We had a nice trip to Halifax Piece Hall and are now in Ilkley. In our lovely room with rolll top bath..The Gin Lounge next door is owned by the ladies who own this place. We shall visit there before we go to dinner.
                                We were so lucky today.Despite
the awful forecast there was only one downpour which sheltered from. Sunny the rest of the time.
