Funny old day today, just had thunder and a heavy shower and now the sun is back out. Still very windy and decidedly cooler that it has been.Been out for walk with dog and he's now asleep......wish I could drop off like him!

Getting new carpets laid next week so trying to get things cleared out rather than have a last minute panic the night before the fitters are due. Trouble is I get waylaid by things e.g. magazines, pictures etc!

Clover....well done you! Love your handiwork! Our village show is in September and I might be tempted to put some stuff in as I haven't done anything for the past few years.

Daisy.....have a safe trip oop North! I hope you manage to get things sorted out with your cousin's estate. I'm sure Eva will have a lovely time with Cooper and the girls.

We too have travellers in the village, on a piece of land that you wouldn't know was there if you didn't live in the area. They must case the area before moving in. They're already causing problems with stuff being taken from outside sheds of neighbouring houses. I dread to think what mess they'll leave behind.

They must be the ones who were causing trouble in this area WG, did your DD have any trouble? Residents were guarding Holmer Green's green and they have put barriers up around our common. Police have been turfing them off from all around here, even had the police dogs out up at Handy Cross Park and Ride. Every open space has been a target for them, if target areas are gated they just cut the locks and claim they were already broken. There have been reports that they are walking into supermarkets and just boldly walking out with items without paying.

Do you know,it makes my blood boil how travellers seem to be above the law.

Nothing planned as such , we don't have Storm today ,DD working from home GS1 came home from holiday with his friends family at 2am this morning so a lie in for them all ,

Dull here but dry atm. Bowls for me this afternoon, bed stripping and remaking this morning. Bowls this afternoon and Embroidery group this evening. I must get a move on.

Morning all hope today finds you well, I am a bit more rested we just have eldest g/d last night for sleepover and all day today. Started putting bits in cases last wash in for this week hopefully , ironed tomorrow when no children are about, pick up of selection of children Friday am for 3 pm flight that means McDonald’s for lunch at airport , so trying to eek out food for this week

Hope everyone’s plans for the day work out successfully.

Like Plant I’ve got bed stripped and washing out. Mostly sunny here. I felt it was a bit cooler earlier on but warmed up now..

DD and family have just taken off from Heathrow to San Francisco for a road trip up the West coast. It’s an 11 hour flight. DD has had to plan and book 10 different places to stay. They’ll need a holiday when they get back.

I'm a bit worried about DD2's MIL today. Yesterday morning in Sainsbury's she had a suspected heart attack. At the hospital they couldn't decide whether she had or not, and later that day, against medical advice she discharged herself. I presume she must have been feeling OK to have done that. This morning she went back, for results of whatever tests they ran yesterday. Her OH recently had surgery for prostate cancer ( which was successful) so they are having a bit of a rough time. I do hope she is OK. DD is keeping me posted.

She is home now. The results seem unclear as to whether she had had an attack. They said get back in touch if it happens again. SIL is going over to see her after work, and DD says they will have them over this week and see if they can find out if this was a one off, or it has happened before and MIL hasn't told anyone. I'm relieved she is home anyway.

Busy morning for me, we’ve runout of marmalade so I’ve got the Seville Oranges from the freezer and started the preparation which includes soaking the pips/pith and the peel, ready for cooking on Wednesday.

Oma, hope the diabetic sceening went well.
Clover,we know what those 11 hour flights are like, thats how long it takes to Las Vegas.
The last hour of the flight,feels like 4 hours.
