Nana I hope they can get to yours how is the snow situation your way its pretty deep hear causing a lot of problems on the roads although gritters have been out and about all day .
We had lightning too
Good morning all. Happy Groundhog Day........a favourite film of mine. π
Snow all gone but feels very chilly, need to sort some more cupboards out today for another trip to the charity shop. Butno errands to run so thatβs good. Im also going to make a casserole on the slow cooker and make some soup, so that's my day sorted. Keep warm everyone π₯

I like that film too Enfys!
Fingers crossed for all going smoothly for GD's party Nana.
DD got back fine thank you Daisy, in fact she said there was almost no snow at all en route between Birmingham and here! Little GS's face was a delight to see when she walked in as he was eating his tea. He is used to her working away and fine with daddy, but it's nice to see your mum after 2 days, especially when you are only 2
Today we plan to go into town to see the Ice Trail. It is an annual event, lots of ice sculptures around the city. It is free and always interesting. It has always been in December but this year they moved it to February. Wise move I think as we are always overrun with December tourists, good to have a reason to get people to the city in this first couple of dreary months of the year. 2 years ago it was so warm and the sculptures were melting
This will not be a problem this year. It snowed again overnight and froze over the remains of yesterdays snow.
Tonight is the final night of the pantomime. The last night is fun and anarchical, and always so popular that they have a draw for tickets. For the first time I am very glad that I didn't get one. I would have sold it if I had, it's too much for an emotional soul like me to be at Berwick's last night as Dame.
Be careful everyone. Stay cosy if you can!

Good morning all you early risers (or non-sleepers) and everyone else as well.
Nanto - that graphic is so pretty - perfect to cheer up a cold day. Although the sun is shining here. It must have frozen over night because there are tiny mounds of ice that were snow yesterday.
Nana - I do hope the roads are ok for your family. Have a lovely time. Does the cake have a theme?
Gem - glad DD2 had a good journey. Oh dear, you will miss your Dame at next year's panto. I hope his replacement become as well-loved as Berwick.
It's a day at home for us - lots of chores for me, paperwork for OH, but first I must get the freezer sorted out. Brrrrr ........
Have a good day everyone.

Morning ladies .
We have about 6/8 inches of snow it looks pretty but a pain in the bum
Both B and me were up most of night we were having hot drinks and chatting at 3.30 nice to have company to be honest π
Did two loads of washing while I was up so that is now dried ironed and put away , clean bedding ironed ready to go on its hanging over my banister so as not to crease .
Wall in spare bedroom painted waiting for it to dry , it only needed one coat .
Gem I bet the ice sculptures are amazingly good such talented artists around .
Enfys good luck with the clear out more room for more clutter π
Daisy don't envy you cleaning freezer out in this weather π―
Nanto what a lovely graphic it brightens the day up , it's the first thing I look at when I come on the forum π
Having 5 mins before I do anything else have a good day ladies xxx
No more snow for us, lovely and sunny thank goodness and most of the roads are clear. GD2 is here with boyfriend and GD1 isn't working this weekend so a houseful next door. I don't have any plans today except to watch the 6 nations rugby later today. I need some sewing bits from Hobbycraft but I think that can wait until next week.
Hope the family enjoy your cake Nana.
I would love to see the ice sculptures Gemini, York is an interesting place to live near. I bet GS2 was pleased to see his mummy.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Good morning all.
Oma this where you need to put your hands over your eyes...β¦. the small amount of snow we had has almost gone , just the odd little patch on the garden β¦β¦ Oma you can look again
I've had a sort out of some of the old books that are just collecting dust and they are in a bag ready to go to the charity shop when it opens on Monday. I have also put a dress that I have only worn once, two jumpers and my favourite cardy that no longer fits me after I accidently put on a hot wash so it shrank at least two sizes !
Tesco arriving today and then I want to get on and put the first early seed potatoes to chit, I ask myself, how do I survive all this non stop excitement ?
Gem that ice trail sounds lovely, are you able to take some photos for us all to see?
Plant I do truly appreciate living here. Even though apart from about 4 years I have lived here my whole life, I appreciate how lucky I am.
Mimi, we will try to remember to take photos

I've done the chest freezer and packed the newly delivered dog food at the bottom, with last month's left overs on top. It's amazing how much more room there is when everything is tidy!
I've daintily tripped around downstairs waving my little yellow flag thingy and then the sucky up thingy. Stripped the bed, done some washing, spent a long time on Whats App with DIL1, charting GS1's journey to France, starting at 4 am today in snow-bound Berkshire.
I'm now catching up with some bits of paper-work, but thought I'd have a break and a chat first.
Oma - I'm intrigued, wondering what on earth you and B talked about at 3 am! I'm sure OH and I would just grump at each other!!!
Mimi - chitting potatoes are on my programme of exciting events for this week-end, too.

We enjoyed the ice sculptures that we saw. There are 50, all over town, it was too cold to see all of them.
We warmed up with lunch partway through, and grabbed a couple of Bon Marche bargains too.
