Thanks for your input on carpet removal.It’s not on the priority list just now though I would like it to be!

Getting rid of the car is top of the list at the moment, but somehow I can’t seem to face it. I know I”ll feel better when it’s done but I can’t summon up the motivation or energy for the time being.

We’ve just had a walk in bright sunshine to look at the sea from the castle. The beach looked beautiful.

Consultant left it to me. It will be my 3rd hernia op' & twice on the same one. I asked him if I could have a 6mth open appointment which he agreed to. Lunch at Morrison's & a trip to Costco. Not a bad day really. Sunny but chilly. No snow here.

Nana - I don't know whether it's better having to make the decision yourself or having the consultant make it for you. But at least time is on your side and you don't have to decide straight away.


Clover - it sounds as though getting rid of your car is hard for you (and I can understand why). You mentioned earlier that you don't think it's worth very much money. You can check the value by Googling something like "How much is my car worth now" . If the value is so low that you don't feel it's worth the hassle of selling it offer it to your local Technical college for trainee car mechanics to work on. If it's worth selling would one of your family do it for you? Also some large dearlerships have a 'buy any vehicle' policy - you can find local ones to you via Google. A dealer will offer you less than selling it yourself, but I imagine you don't want to have to go down the route of a private sale via Autotrader or local paper. If your local supermarket has a 'for sale' board you could try that.

Gem - how was your Aunty? Did you go carpet shopping?

I've pretty much wasted today, apart from catching up a bit on here. A bit frustrating, but on the other hand I haven't had to rush round doing things.

Good evening - far too much to respond to here today! I have read through though, you busy lot 🙂

I keep forgetting to ask DD or SIL about the heating. I used to be able to switch on the gas fire which kept the living room warm until the heating came on, but don't seem to be able to do it this winter.
We did go to see my auntie, Daisy. I phoned first and got her shopping list. Hopefully her son is coming this weekend. They will see vast improvement since they last saw her a month ago.

They are coming to measure up for stair carpet on Monday, then we will go back and look properly at samples once they.know the width.

Busy day tomorrow. AGM for my library group , shopping for my mum then going with her to visit my sister. I will get on here at some point 🙂

Very icy here and we are expecting more snow tomorrow evening, I have decided not to go to Aqua tomorrow, it will still be icy but hoping to go shopping later instead of Friday. Fed up with not being able to have my usual routine

My friend lives and hour from Chicago Nan2, it is awful. She lives alone in the countryside and all the pipes keep freezing up, she is having a terrible time. Nothing but mile upon mile of deep snow outside. DD3, however in Canada, weather not nearly as bad.

Very foggy here and frosty. Not a day to go out but I have no choice. Hopefully it will all improve as the day goes on though.
If not we won't be going to see my sister.
AGM for me this morning. This may be my last meeting as secretary if someone else is nominated and voted in. We need a new treasurer, let's hope someone volunteers!

Plant it is frustrating to have to miss aqua, but normal conditions will return!

Good morning, very thick frost here this morning, everything so white it looks like snow. Going out for lunch with friends today, should,be ok by then.

Had a bad night with a painful knee. Had to get up at 1.30 to take pain killers, and finally fell asleep sometime after 3.00. Up again at 6.30 to sort out P’s meds and breakfast, so will be taking it easy this morning. P said shall we cancel lunch, no way! It’s a real treat for me not to cook so,there’s no way I’m not going.

The weather looks dreadful in the US, hope your friend is OK Gem. Then the other side of the world, our son has been having temps in the 40’s in Adelaide. The weather is going mad 😱

A friend popped in for a cuppa on Tues., she had been shopping in our local Co-Op and all the veg shelves were almost empty, she managed to get one bag of potatoes. People stocking up because of the weather forecast. I am keeping an eye on the forecast, it keeps changing, but I hope to go to Waitrose later when the sun had done a bit of melting. I hope the weather in America doesn't come our way.

Morning all it’s baltic here, we are hopefully meeting friends for lunch in a lovely garden centre but we will have to wait till it melts a bit as the garden centre is in a lovely but remote village , hope you enjoy your lunch and a good catch up that is what we intend and OH is looking forward to it which is good

Morning all, it almost balmy here compared to Chicago, have you seen their weather, brrr we don't want any of that.
When I woke this morning we couldn't see out for the freezing fog, its lifted now but its very frosty with snow threatened for this afternoon/evening.

Enfys hope the knees are better today. Is a knee replacement on the cards? SIL has had both her knees replaced and she is pain free now . The only down side was that obviously they replaced the knee that needed the op first which healed really well but when the other knee was replaced it took longer to get over it. The surgeon explained that the 'good' knee had taken the weight of the bad knee for so long that by the time it was operated on it had deteriorated far more than they had expected. That's all behind her now and she is back at work a new woman !

Plant I hope the whole nation isn't going to go mad and stock pile food like they did last winter. Its time buying excessive amounts of one item. like 7 loaves of bread etc , was stopped at the supermarket tills. If everyone brought their normal grocery shopping there would be enough for everyone. I don't know about the rest of the country but here rain and warmer temperatures are forecast here for Saturday.

Oma summer is too hot over there! I have been there in summer and winter, and the winters are diabolical, even the normal ones, which this isn't. I have never envied her, I hate extremes of temperature!

I hope there isn't too much stockpiling, it creates problems of it's own.

Really foggy here still , but OH who has been to town for her mammogram says it is just around our village!
We have no treasurer now, so need to find one. Chair and I agreed to stand for another year.
