We had a lovely day at home yesterday with DS1 and family staying overnight. They left just before lunch today to go over and see GD2 and say 'happy birthday' to her. We took Eva for a good walk and then went on to see the birthday girl. Her other grandparents had just arrived too, so it was a bit chaotic, but we had birthday cake and GD2 blew out all her candles! She was so excited and kept showing everyone her "I am 5" badge! Her main birthday present was a bike and she was so excited.

Tomorrow we're going up to DS1's for another "Christmas Day'" with DIL's parents, brother and his family. We're staying overnight and coming back Saturday morning, hoepfully to give me time to get ready for New Year's Eve! Next week, I'm hoping for a rest.

Oma I hope that you & B are feeling a bit better. Best wishes to all the other poorly people on here too. Well we've all had a good Christmas by the sound of it.😊

Our Boxing Day was really good. Just adults so we had chance of a good natter. Went to YWP today then dropped DD1 + her boys off back home. Had tea then immediately fell asleep. Off to bed now so I hope I can climb up the stairs. Night all.

Good morning all. Getting back to normal now. Sorry you're not feeling well Oma, hope you and Brian are on the mend soon.

We are going to the funeral of our next door neighbour later, so a sad day here. I have said to DH that I will go on my own if he doesn’t feel up to it but he wants to come too. Not looking forward to it but we must go, she was such a lovely lady.

Counting the days until our DGD comes home, it will be so lovely to see her again, She had no internet contact over Christmas as she was on Frazier Island just off the coast of Australia camping with her new young man, but we will hear all about it I am sure, They are not ones for posting lots of pics on social media but I know she’ll,have lots to show us when she’s back here.

Hope everyone is keeping well and recovering from the festivies. I am on salad and fruit, ate far too much so am trying to,detox a little bit. Still a few chocs left though. P started his second lot of chemo yesterday, so fingers crossed that goes OK. He had hardly any reaction from the first lot but they’ve reassured us that doesn’t mean it’s not working, he was just lucky, so we shall see.

Have a good day everyone 🌞

                Oma,hope you feel better soon.

Feels like another mild day here.

I'll be glad when things are back to normal. Getting fed up of the decorations now.
Just want new year to come and go.

                Off to in laws soon.

                  Good morning ladies.

What a busy time for your family Daisy. All the Christmas celebrations, and a family birthday too!
Sorry Nan2, you're right it was Mimi with the Alexa light bulb!
That's sad, a funeral to go to Enfys. I hope the chemo is kind to your OH. As the Drs say chemo affects people in different ways, and avoiding the worst side effects is a bonus, not a sign that it isn't working well
Please take care of yourself Oma, and feel better soon xx

                  Nothing planned today, so far.

Good morning from me. I'm feeling a little jaded from all the celebrations, but today we're off to DS1's for even more! I need to get my skates on! OH has got a sore throat, so I hope he's not sickening for something. It's our bin collection day today and I'm horrified by the amount of rubbish we and all our neighbours are putting out!

Oma - take it easy, love and look after yourself as well as B. Sending hugs.

Enfys, a sad day for you. xx I do hope P has no side effects from the tablets. Not long now till your GD gets home, so that's something to look forward to. xx

I'll hopefully get back on here tonight. Take care of yourselves today, everyone. xxx

Morning all. It's not the day I had planned, we were to have 'all' the family here today but with two DS not on speaking terms and added to the fact that DD can't get here till Sunday today has gone a little flat! DD, SIL and two youngest GC will be here on Sunday but eldest DS is working and DIL and DS will be away, looks like the year will end with bad feeling

Oma how are you and B

Daisy enjoy your day with DS1

Enfys how is P this morning

Has anyone still got lots of festive food left, we've hardly touched anything, there are Christmas puddings, cake, yule log and mince pies not even touched, All this weeks shopping will be a fresh loaf of bread, Calgon for the washing machine, toilet cleaner and orange juice...... Mr Tesco isn't going to make much money off me this week.

                      Have a good day everyone

Daisy what a lovely family time you have been having and still having.

Enfys, Hope your OH is going to be free from bad side effects this time too. I am sure you are getting excited to be seeing your GD soon, she will have lots to tell you.

I am still feeling very tired mainly in my bones, late getting up again. I might pop out today, perhaps the fresh air will do me good. Very excited I saw a member of the tit family looking into my bird box, it was a present from my GS1 and Dil last Christmas, he has positioned it so I can see it from my SR. Oh by the way GD1 has a boyfriend, she met him at work and he has been joining us over Christmas, he is easy to get on with, not at all shy being thrown into our crazy lot. He is quite a bit older than her but I remind the family that their father and grandfather was 19 years older than me.

Oma, I hope you and B will be feeling better soon, we could do with some frosty weather to kill all these germs off, or is that an old wives tale.

Grauntie, if you are looking in, I will try and play my turn on Word Chums today.

Not really got time to catch up properly but hope any poorlies are recovering .I felt a bit ropey on Boxing Day but a bit better now. We had a slow journey here yesterday courtesy of DS1. He deserves a medal. The traffic was horrendous. He is off to meet friends in London today but will return to have Sunday lunch with us before returning to Wales.
Enjoy Whatever you’re up to today ladies..

Well, our nothing planned day seems to be nearly over!

We went out to do various things. Check on the house of friends who are away for a month and start their cars up, go to Sainsbury's to buy a few things for New Year's eve (and cut price crackers, cards and wrap) put petrol in OH's car and then on to buy our 3 annual fireworks for New Year.
Not long after we got back our neighbour arrived to thank us for the cat feeding and ask us about another weekend. She sort of walked in when OH opened the door, and stayed ages chatting

Plant, plenty of rest and a bit of fresh air and you will soon feel less tired I'm sure.
Mimi, I'm sorry today hasn't turned out as planned.
Hi Clover, I'm glad you are feeling better.
Oma, how are you and B feeling?

Feeling quite drained now. The funeral was very sad but some lovely things were said and our neighbour had chosen the music and reading herself apparently, that finished me off when we were told that. It was all lovely though, her poor son took it very hard, he’s a lovely young man, so sad. What surprised me and upset me the most was how upset DH was, he said it was because it was too close for comfort, he and our neighbour used to meet sometimes at chemo and they could sit and chat to each other. He was ok once we got home but it was very distressing.

He is now talking about sorting out the loft and taking stuff to the dump so has bounced back as he usually does, nothing keeps him down for long.....he is amazing.
