A busy day for you Gem.

Good news that you had a good sleep Nanto

Very dark here this morning. Not conducive to getting going but I must get a move on and have a good tidy round.

Hope the day goes as well as it can for everyone .

      Morning ladies ,
Gem these plaster board walls are a nightmare to get things to fix to them , I have lost count how many times our Curtain poles have had to be re fixed even with the right Plaster board fixings , several times the holes have had to be plastered over and re drilled

A dark grey day hear too hate these kind of days it never gets light does it ,

I have stripped the bed its washed and in the dryer , darks are in then a small load of lights to do ,
Washed my paintworks down and general housework although not a lot to do really except kitchen cupboard doors they always have dirty finger marks on them but apparently no one will take the blame ,
Must be those gremlins with the same size hands as OH & GS1 either that or Storm has developed hands instead of paws

Hope Enfys & P had a reasonable night xxx

        Good morning everyone.

Nanto - I'm sure you feel better for some unbroken sleep. I've used gluten-free Just Roll pastry (I find it hard to make) and it's really very good, but I haven't used the ordinary shortcrust yet - I'll have to give it a go.

Gem - you are going to be busy. Your OH sounds a bit like mine - DIY has to be DIY Done to Perfection.

The forecast sunshine hasn't appeared here yet, but it's not raining. I hope the ground will be dry enough in an hour or so to start work on clearing leaves, bringing in a couple more tender plants and clearing the tomato plants out of the trough. I've done one trough but the other was still producing tomatoes, and then I got busy with other things. I also want to put up the rest of the bird feeders ready for the cold snap. I've only got one nyger feeder and one of sunflower hearts so far, but this morning I watched two beautiful gold finches tucking in, plus a couple of blue tits.

Sending hugs to those who need them. xxx

Lovely and sunny here atm. Not sure what I am going to do today, have a sore lumpy feeling throat. Very cross with myself, I was at JL yesterday and forgot to collect a parcel from there so need another trip. We have a Home Bargains nearby next to Dunelm so I popped in and found a couple of things I use very much cheaper. Lots of sweets and crisps, didn't like the look of their meat.

Pleased you had a good night Nanto, you will feel much better for that.

Good afternoon. I am only going to talk about DH’s problems on the other thread so this is my ‘get away from it all’ place 🙂. Thank you for all your good wishes.

This morning I went to my family history meeting, trying to get back to normal. It was very good and nice to have a chat with everyone. Lots of discussion and an interesting new project proposed. Next week I am going to the knit and natter group held at the library too.

very sunny here but chilly, need to sweep the leaves up outside if I get chance, otherwise relaxing.

Lovely day here. Daisy I do enjoy my choir, we practice twice a month. December is a busy time for us as we are asked to sing at various local events. We’re singing in two pubs, at a village tea party and a local Baptist church Christmas entertainment evening. We are a Community Choir rather than a church choir but we do sing some carols at Christmas as well as other Christmas songs. We did a concert last Sunday for rememberance day. Son and family have popped in for a cuppa this afternoon and we’re off to a pub for dinner this evening.... happy days!

The Chelsea Buns were a great success, but the machine only makes the dough you have to add the fruit, roll them, cut them, and bake in the oven and the ice them. Well worth th effort.

AVO I'm a fan of Chelsea buns too in fact any kind of bun or cake with fruit in , yours sound delicious can almost smell them 😊

Enfys very sensible keep a place to chat about everything else means your not always having to explain anything you don't want to talk about if you get my meaning .

Qwerty are you not going out for your Anniversary tomorrow ?

GS1 turned up after football this morning starving hungry as usual , not expecting him so had nothing ready so had to raid the freezer to feed him ,
Grandad making him a Gaming computer for Christmas so he wanted to come and help , would have stayed the night but was going out for tea then he has a match early in the morning

Enfys - it's good to have places to go, whether virtual or real, and I'm sure everyone will respect your choice to keep a separate thread for your DH.

I'm intrigued by the family history project - what it is about? The idea of knit and natter sounds good, but I don't think I'd be much good - it's hard to talk when you've got your tongue stuck out while you concentrate on the purls.

We got a bit of sun in the end, but hopefully more tomorrow.

Qwerty - it's easy to forget all these appointment when there are GCs around. My brain goes into meltdown. I hope you can catch up on your sleep, and DD's cold doesn't get any worse.

Avo - you are certainly going to be busy with your choir, but it sounds as though you really enjoy it and it must bring a lot of pleasure to a lot of people. Dinner at the pub is a good idea. I'm glad the Chelsea buns came out so well. I think making the dough is the hardest part anyway, with having to let it rise and everything, so it's probably still worth using the machine. You mentioned yours was a new one. Can I ask what sort you got? I'll have to replace ours soon - it needs a new pan and paddle and the nut dispenser doesn't work - it's about 10-15 years old, but has been a really good machine.

I managed to get some work done in the garden - or rather the greenhouse. I put our new Karcher window cleaner to good use on the inside, planted broad beans for next spring, filled up all the bird feeders, and took in the last of the geraniums. After lunch I went out again and did a bit of dead heading and pulled out a few weeds, but didn't feel like doing any more. My back survived, so I didn't want to push my luck.

I'm just off to upgrade the OS on my computer - I hope it goes ok!

Enfys, although you are free to talk about whatever you like, wherever you like, I think your decision is a very good one.
That was my thinking behind the Positive Thread (which I must revive!) as we all at times need somewhere where we can forget troubles and negative stuff.
We have a Knit and Natter group at our library (or Stitch and Bitch as one of my fellow committee members jokingly calls it!)

Plant take care of your sore throat, and don't overdo things if you don'l feel well. How is your tooth now?

Qwerty, I bet you are exhausted! (I wouldn't have bought an Advent calendar for your DIL 😈)

Avo, it must be lovely to belong to a choir, especially at Christmas time. You are making me want a Chelsea bun!

Oma I wish I had your GS here, I am sure he could help us with Minecraft! GS1 persuaded me to put it on my tablet last week. None of us really know what we are doing and we are currently stuck down a hole with no way of getting out! We think GD will know so I will ask her next week.

You have been a busy bee Daisy. I'm glad your back isn't suffering.

We went to our friends house and OH did the jobs, and I relaxed with a cuppa
We picked up all parcels from the various places, had lunch at Sainsbury's and bought a few things with the double points vouchers.
We were all shopped out and couldn't face Home Bargains, LOL. We will go there on Monday.

Avo I can’t sing for toffee it must be very uplifting when you sing a very pleasant hobby to have , but a busy time too
I had a call from my friend’s OH Clare who died 2 yrs ago tomorrow asking me and my other friend out for lunch in December , I thought that was lovely so awaiting arrangements will be good to talk to him
