Plant she is very keen to choose her colour! When she had an operation on the other hand for osteo arthritis, they had run out of colour. She was most disappointed to be plain white! When my DD3 broke her wrist aged 17 she chose purple. very nice it looked.

Thank you for the birthday card 😊! We’re off to Sheringham in Norfolk in the Motorhome this morning for the weekend. Had a nice afternoon at Hotel du Vin in Cambridge for afternoon tea with champagne courtesy of Son Number 2 yesterday which was very enjoyable. Hope you all have a good weekend! X

we are looking forward to our week away, not long now, we both really need the break. DD and GD between them have planned the menus for the week and have ordered a big supermarket delivery after we arrive. DG is chef and DD and I will be sous and commi 😀. We have agreed the men can be kitchen porters and washers up....they don’t know that yet!

we have also booked a few days away in June for my birthday, making the most of the fact that DH feels really well at the moment.

Good morning, everyone.

It's sunny here, too and a bit chilly, but I haven't had time to check it out properly yet. I didn't wake up till nearly 9 am and then had to rush round putting the bins out. It's OH's job usually but he was still asleep and I didn't want to disturb him after yesterday.

Goodness, Oma - you're right - what a lot of poorly and injured people at the moment. I think we're all at a low ebb after the winter. We need some warmth and sunshine to buck us up a bit.

OH's eye was really painful last night, but he slept well and although it's very red and weepy it's not so painful today. I hope he's ok to go out tonight, but I'll offer to drive him there and back.

I've got plenty of jobs lined up for today, so I'll see how I get on. While the sun's out I'll get bedding done so it can dry outside. The GDs might be having a sleepover on Monday and their beds have been used as pirate ships, dens, Eva's favoured spot to bask in the sun and goodness knows what else so they could do with a good wash!

Avo - enjoy your week-end. I hope the weather is kind to you.

Enfys - it's nice to look out of your window and see a nice sparkling deck. It's lovely to get away for a while, and you definitely will feel better for it. It's great you've got an in-house chef as well - what a lovely family you've got. I'm sure the men will step up to the plate with their kitchen duties.

Good afternoon all, it’s a lovely sunny day here, so nice in fact I put on my new jacket and went for a walk but after about 10mins I suddenly thought “ Have I shut the bathroom window “? It was no good I had to hastily return home and yes you guessed it, it was shut !

Well we had an unexpected day doing childminding.
We had our nephews 9 year old daughter all afternoon.
She certainly keeps you entertained. She had been in hospital last week for her tonsils out.
Ice cream and chocolate helps her throat to feel less sore, as she kept reminding us.

I got most of the washing dried outside, so not bad, as the sun disappeared about lunch-time. I didn't get much else done as I ended up helping someone with a problem (not one of us grannies), but OH felt well enough to drive himself tonight - he was only going into the village and could even have walked, but it is rather dark and we haven't got proper pavements - just mud paths next to ditches! So he drove and has just got back safely.

Gem - I hope OH sleeps well again tonight. Sleep is a good healer.

Time for an early-ish night for me - it's been a busy week again!

I was very tired last night and was in bed by 9pm slept very well till I woke at 5.10 this morning, a full 8 hours peaceful sleep

Rest of day is mine till we go to our friends for afternoon Tea about 3ish

It's a beautiful sunny morning but still chilly. Still the washing machine's on and it's not due to rain. Perhaps i shouldn't tempt fate by saying that!

Gem - GS2 obviously loved his birthday party. It's good that kitty has relaxed and seems content. I hope you slept well - you needed it after this week. I hope OH is not in pain with her wrist.

Not a lot planned for us today. OH needs to go to the Post Office, so we'll go into the village and get a few odds and ends - we always seem to be running out of bananas - and then go on to the paddock to give Eva a good run. She's rather missed out this week with one thing and another. The trouble with doing loads of washing is it creates work for the hot hissy thing, so I might have to tackle the growing pile later on today.
