Yesterday got taken up with family and Rugby, although England were rubbish. It was nice to see my son, he came to watch the rugby with Sil and Sil’s brother. Dil often pops in, she had a go at my jigsaw. We are expecting GS2 and his wife today, DD’s birthday is lasting several days. GD1 persuaded me to get on my rollacre
(well not ride it) and go with her to the town. We shopped and had lunch in M&S, bought things for our growing baby and a dress for her DD.

Oma, I hope you had an enjoyable lunch with your family and friends. I can imagine Storm spotting you and thinking “I hope she has my sweetie tub”

Gemini, what a disappointment about the sofa, I hope it will arrive soon.

      Good Sunday morning everyone.

Nanto, You must be very pleased that your DS2 is enjoying his new job. Changing jobs is always a bit of a gamble, isn't it. Thank you for the flowery picture. I think flowers are always relaxing.

Oma, I hope the fog has cleared. It's dull, damp and chilly here. I hope you've enjoyed your breakfast get together. I bet Storm was excited, especially when he saw his sweeties.

Gem, I hope you and DD3 have enjoyed your walk in the nature reserve, and you little get together for lunch. I expect DD3 will be ready for a rest by the time they go home. I hope it's stayed dry for you.

We can't do the jobs we'd planned this morning - it's too damp and cold, and the garden is too wet again. I suppose I could do some housework, but I probably won't.

        Good mrning. Cloudy this morning.

Daisy, what a shame you couldn't get your planned jobs done beacause of the weather.

No plans for me today. I know hubby wants to move something in the garden.

DS1 wants some new fencing,so him and hubby might be sorting that out today.

          Good morning ladies.
I have read back and caught up with you all.

It's very cloudy and dreary looking here too Nan2.

I hope you enjoyed brunch and get together Oma.

Daisy it did stay dry and we walked right round the lake. There are plenty of seats so we sat a couple of times. DD spotted a lot of things she recognised from her foraging courses.
Little E was very happy to have lunch with us, and I took him into the play area there while we waited for our lunch to be brought to the table.

Aqua this morning, coffee after, no other plans as far as I know.

Jobs like fences always need doing in the spring don't they,
MILs needs doing , I think Martin is sorting that.

We off to IKEA I need a few things and some packing boxes for when the kitchen gets done ,
The cupboards will need clearing , so thought we may as well get them now while we are there,

              Good Monday morning everyone.

Nanto, hubby wanting to move something in the garden sounds as though it may be a big job. I hope DS's fencing isn't a big job as well.

Gem, I'm sure the walk yesterday did you and DD3 good. Time to just stroll, rest and take in the views and wildlife. It was lovely for little E to spend time in the play area as well. One of those days you treasure for simple pleasures.

Oma, IKEA - wooppeee. I bet B is so excited. (Not!). I hope it's not too busy and you can get everything you want.

It's foggy and chilly here. I don't think there's much chance OH will be able to finished the summerhouse doors. It needs to be dry for the sealant/hardner to set properly. I've got plenty of house work to do, more's the pity.

I have an appt. With the surgery nurse for an injection later this morning. Well it is a blood test first then injection after the results. House full yesterday, they were still celebrating DD’s birthday. All the children, their children and me GGma.

Oma, enjoy your trip to IKEA, be kind to Brian.

Daisy, if you are helping to move something with OH do be careful.

Plant, it must have been very busy yesterday with all your family celebrating your DD's birthday. All the best birthdays last for days! Were you tired afterwards? It's Nanto whose OH is moving something in the garden.

It's been too damp for OH to work on the summer house this morning but hopefully will be better this afternoon.

Oma, did you get everything you wanted at IKEA?

Well the day didn't go to plan,
We went to IKEA to get packing boxes for when SIL does the flooring and we have to empty the side board and a double cupboard under my breakfast bar work top...

                    Got home and SIl rang,
Could they come and screed the floors today,,
Then do the flooring over the next two days once the screed has dried.

The big office job they had on that was supposed to take a week was cancelled due to a major fire and water damage ..
So he thought he mayAs well get mine done this week.

So we are sitting with the fridge-freezer, the double base unit, all three doors throughout the kitchen utility and toilet , all the stuff out of the cupboard and all the boxes of flooring ,
Plus the. Kettle and everything you need for a cupper ,

The washing machine and tumble dryer are under tarpaulin in the garden ,
                    It's an absolute tip
                    But I can't complain it's getting done 3 weeks earlier than I thought ,
The IKEA boxes are unused behind the sofa , we didn't have time to put them together.

That was the original idea Gem,
We were going to book into our local Premier in, then it was all done at a rush.
We went out for tea and we have been to Sainsbury's and bought cakes to treat ourselves 😁

Just had a phone call from one of Bs cousins,

On Wednesday when we were at the funeral his other Cousin, brother of the deceased told us the day after his brother died , he had a mild stroke but was ok no lasting effects ,

We have just learned that the sister of these two had a massive stroke at the wake ,

She's ok but her speech is effected as is her left arm and leg,
How unlucky are they, one sibling died and two had strokes ,

Poor lady she has just got the all clear from womb cancer and her husband has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's,
She's one of the good people in life , always nice and ready too help anyone who needs it ,
Life isn't kind to some is it.

I know things are in a mess, but it will be worth it when its all finished.

Thats awful Oma, for two of them to have a stroke.

Bereavement can increase the risk of a stroke, particularly in the first 30 days following the death of a partner or close loved one, with studies showing a potentially doubled risk for people over 60. Intense grief causes acute stress, raising blood pressure, heart rate, and blood clotting, while also disrupting sleep and daily medication routines.
