Hello everybody. Rather a late post from me, but it's been a non-stop day somehow.

Oma, I'm tempted to say it never rains but what it pours, but that might be too close to the truth for your DD's bathroom. It sounds really awful and not something that can be fixed quickly. I think your shower is going to be very well used! Water can cause so much damage.

MIL might well have kept you busy today, but I hope not. You and B need a break.

Nanto, did you get a lot of rain? At least Pooh Bear has the right idea.

We took Eva over to the vets this morning. They decided to do the X-ray under sedation rather than GA, which we were very thankful for, but it's shown a cranial cruciate ligament injury. Apparently it's like an ACL injury in people - a common knee injury and makes the knee unstable. In dogs it tends to come on gradually rather than being a sudden accident. Luckily her other back leg is ok, but she needs an operation on the bad leg.

She's feeling very sorry for herself this evening. She hasn't even shown any interest in her dinner. We're going to GS2's belated birthday party tomorrow, but I think Eva will be happier staying with DS2. They can't go as GD1 is working, so they're happy to look after her.

Last night I completely forgot to finish off the Sainsbury's order, so the cupboard/fridge will be rather bare tonight. Still, we won't starve. I've never done that before!

      Oh poor Eva Daisy.

A bathroom leak isn't what anyone wants Oma. I hope DD gets sorted soon.

      Rainy day here Nan2.

SIL3 is back with our fish and chips so I'd better go.

      Night everyone.

MIL is home after a bit of a struggle with her not understanding what they were telling her about the nebuliser,
B said she was talking over the nurse so not listening, he had to tell her to shut up and listen,
Then when he got her home he had to go through it all again.

Well DDs bathroom is worse than was thought ,
It was actually a cracked soil pipe that had leaked under the floor.

SIL said the smell was unbelievable,
The whole vanity unit has had to be ripped out along with the flooring right down to the joists ,

The plumber managed to re connect the toilet for now and he's going back on Wednesday after SIL has used heaters to dry it out, he's brought big air heaters home from the shop.

DD was ringing the insurance to see if it's worth claiming , it all depends on the excess.

        Daisy
Poor Eva , she will be feeling woozy no doubt ,
I think your right she's better off at your DSs tomorrow.

Daisy, so sorry to hear about Eva’s painful leg. Hope the vet can put it right for her.

Oma, water gets everywhere where you don’t want it.

Enjoy your fish and chips Gemini.

Gem, fish and chips are lovely, and even better, nobody has to cook. xxx. Night, night.

Oma, par for the course with your MIL. I hope she got the hang of the nebuliser eventually.

I can't imagine how awful the mess must be from the cracked soil pipe, and all the damage it must have done. I hope those big heaters dry everything out. Thank goodness the plumber was able to connect the toilet. I hope the insurance excess isn't too high so they can claim.

Eva's still quite sleepy, but she's had a small meal. She didn't even bark when Sainsbury's van arrived.

Good morning, Oma, your poor DD and family, it will have been such a mess and smell!! Those driers should have it dry in a few days, then the build up will start! I do hope that the insurance pays out.

I hope that your MIL listens to everyone and knows what to do now.

Daisy, I hope that Eva is feeling better today, that she can bark again!

I have bought an exercise bike, I have always had one but sold the last one, friends gave me it, it was so uncomfortable to ride, I do go to the gym, but, if it snows again I am stuck so decided to buy a new one, the only problem is that is comes in a box and has to be put together!! DS2 will do it for me, maybe before then I can find someone else, I have asked the DIY group where I do coffee but the best technical man has just stopped so they were looking to see if someone else can do it.

GD's are both coming for a meal tomorrow so I need to do some shopping.

Gem, I hope you enjoyed the fish and chips.xx

                  Good morning ladies.

We are going into town later, possibly meeting DS2.

Oma, hope MIL knows what to do now.

Daisy, hope Eva had a good night.

Lizzie, enjoy your meal with GD's.

                    Good Saturday morning everyone.

Lizzie, exercise bikes always look highly technical these days so I can imagine they're not easy to assemble. Have you decided what to cook for your GDs? I always dither when I'm cooking for someone else!

Nanto, good morning to your little sunny friend! I hope it's dry and not too cold for your trip into town.

Oma, I hope MIL is managing her meds and you have a peaceful day.

We're going to DIL1s today and I'm looking forward to seeing both GSs. We haven't seen them for ages with missing out on Christmas. We'll take Eva to DS2s first. She's still quite subdued but wolfed her breakfast down, thank goodness.

Daisy, it does look complicated to me!!! The GD's both prefer different food!!! I will do mash and veg with German sausage for GD2 then GD1 will have Taco's.

Enjoy your visit to GS's Daisy.

                        Morning ladies
                        It's very wet here,

                        Nanto
                        Enjoy your trip to town,
Hope you get to meet Ds.

My DD has a treadmill with all this computer stuff on ,
It came boxed and had to be assembled,
Easy when you know how and have the strength to do it.

I hope the girls enjoy their meal with you, what will you have?

                        Daisy
Eva will enjoy her day at DS's,
At least she was hungry this morning, that's a good sign the meds are out of her system or at least leaving her system 😀
Enjoy your day with the GSs

MIL rang about 9 last night , "I'm stuck the lift has stopped half way"

Brian said have you took your hand of the lever?

                        Yes,

well that's why put your hand back on ,
Oh it's going now she said 🙄

She must have managed this morning as no phone calls .

It's dark and miserable here ,
I have someone coming for my large larder cupboard,
We are selling it to make room for the fridge freezer,

It took ages to clear out there was so much kitchen equipment in there,
If nothing else it gave us an excuse to have a good clear out ,
Get rid of stuff we never use like the waffle maker , sandwich maker etc

We managed to clear a shelf under the stairs to put big stuff on.

                          Hello everyone.

It's a lovely dry sunny day here. Very different to yesterday, and more rain forecast tomorrow.
Little E and SIL have been to our local duck pond and the bakers,DD3 has a little walk around near the hospital.
SIL and little E are going to meet DD in the hospital Costa soon. We will go later, I expect she will be back on the ward then, though Costa is a nicer place to visit!
I will update YEO later or tomorrow.

We're back home after a lovely day celebrating GS2's 21st birthday. He had lots of cards and presents, and DIL1 had gone to a lot of trouble with birthday decorations. It was good to catch up with DIL's mum, step dad and step mother, who all live locally to them, plus some of GS's friends and a lovely neighbour who was very kind to me and OH when we stayed there when DS1 was in the hospice.

OH and I are both exhausted though! Night, night everyone.
