      Morning ladies

      Gem
We felt the same with my parents , but they were unfortunately buried in sperate plots due to a mix up ,
It was discovered that my father's plot had been previously used so no one else could be buried there
We ended up with plaques instead of head stones .

That's the thing with shoes tied together,
When we took MIL I asked the assistant to cut the elastic so she could try them ,

      Nanto
Our area of the north east has been cold and wet,
      Enjoy the sun 😁

We are off to IKEA this morning for napkins,
I only want them so B will stay in the car and I will pop in.

My twin niece is in Spain for two weeks and on Monday she fell and the hospital said she had sprained her shoulder and put it in a sling , yesterday the pain was so bad she fainted cracked her head open and had to go back to hospital where they glued the cut,
This time they x-rayed her shoulder to discover it was broken.
They sent her out with painkillers and a stronger sling and said go home to your own hospital😱
So now they are trying to get flights home and she is dreading the flight.

        Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, it's currently 14C here and very sunny but there's a yellow warning for rain and/or wind tomorrow. What a lovely view you have.

Gem, yes, it's half term for our GD1 next week, but GD2 is off this week and next week! It seems a bit premature to have a two-week half term but I suppose they have their reasons. I do hope GS1 is up for his family get together on Sunday. Finger crossed. It's hopeless trying on shoes that are tied together. I can understand why stores like M&S do that, but they must get a lot of returns. I hope you can find exactly the right memorial for your Mum and Dad's ashes plot. Both my parents' ashes were scattered at the crematorium, and their names are in a Memorial book. My mum's family had a grave in a cemetery in Stoke, and I can remember going with my mum to put flowers on it. I feel sometimes when we're up there I would like to try and find it, but I imagine it must be totally neglected now.

Oma, enjoy your browse round IKEA, and don't forget the napkins. Your poor niece. What an awful thing to happen. One injury would be bad enough, but two is dreadful. I hope the pain killers will help her get through the journey home. Will she ask for airport assistance at both ends? That would help a little.

Well, I'm feeling very young and sprightly today! Why? Because I've ordered a pair of pinking shears from a well-known hobby site and the courier can't hand them over to me unless I show ID!!! I understand why, but I had to laugh. I don't know whether to show him my birth certificate or just stand there and ask him if he thinks I'm old enough to be let loose with such a dangerous weapon.

          Oh your poor niece Oma.

Daisy, my GD has a two week half term too, this is her second week. Her autumn term starts at the end of August though, which is far too early.
Be careful with those dangerous pinking shears!!

I have had a busy day!
Aqua, coffee with my friends then I took the shoes back to M&S for a refund.
OH was in town for lunch with a friend, so I picked her up afterwards and we went to the stone masons. The headstone is chosen and I paid a 50% deposit. It won't be ready for four to five months, so plenty of time before the balance has to be paid. The man we saw was lovely. He would be so comforting if you were ordering at the newly bereaved stage as most customers will be.
OH is baking a cake, it smells lovely

After all the warnings and follow up text messages about needing ID to have the pinking shears delivered, this is what happened. My next door neighbour rang to say could I look after Missy, her dog. Her two year old GS had been taken to hospital after several febrile seizures and turning blue. My neighbour wanted to go to the hospital to give her DD (toddler's Mum) support. Of course I said yes, but keeping in mind that the dog is still recovering from cruciate ligament surgery and needs to take it easy. Missy doesn't see the need for this, of course, and neither does Eva! So when the delivery driver rang the bell it was pandemonium. I shut Eva in the living room, barking her head off, but Missy was convinced it was my neighbour. I didn't dare open the front door as she would have hurled herself at some strange person who may have been terrified of dogs. So I went out of the back door, round to the front and by that time the driver had gone! So he didn't get the chance to admire my driving licence after all!

The toddler has been kept in hospital tonight. His temperature is down slightly - it was 38.1C - but they want to keep an eye on him. Fingers crossed he will be ok.

Apart from some washing and a few odd jobs I got nothing much done today, apart from fussing first one dog then another. It's been a nice day until this evening when the rain started.

Gem, you have had a busy day. The stone mason sounds a lovely chap, and just the sort of person anyone would need when they are newly bereaved. What kind of cake did OH make? I mixed the cold tea, sugar and fruit ready to make bara brith tomorrow. I haven't done any baking for ages.

Oma, have you heard if your niece is home yet, or when she will be coming home?

Good morning, Daisy, a similar situation as your scissors, I broke my jaw whilst ski-ing,, it must be 22 years ago now, my dentist worked wonders, I have no bother only I never eat an apple without cutting it into pieces, hence I always have a penknife with me in my bag, guess who they stopped at the customs in Hull??? Had my bags scanned and asked why I had the, very small, penknife with me!!! I wasn't even allowed to get it out of the bag myself, the customs had to do that! I was allowed to keep it!

Daisy, I do hope that the toddler is improving and soon home again.

I went for the scan yesterday, there is one massive cyst the full width of my knee cavity, that is causing the pain, the young girl said that she could understand how much pain it causes. They are only allowed to empty them once every 3 months, it has to do with the medicine they place in it after the suction, so, I have to wait another 4 weeks before the next scan then they will make an appointment to empty it again!!! I have heard of people having the "bag" removed, she said that they do that but not very often and this one wouldn't be easy to remove.

Gem, you have been busy at the stone mason etc.

Oma, I hope that your niece travels home without too much pain, I broke my shoulder years ago, again, whilst ski-ing!

                      Morning ladies
                      Nanto
                      Safe journey home,

                      Lizzie
It sounds like that knee is going to be a constant problem doesn't it.
I hope when they drain it next time they can offer some kind of treatment.

                      Daisy
                      What a day you had,
Poor baby, it's so scary when that happens,
My DS started having childhood epileptic fits at about 18 month and they carried on till he was 9.
The first one was very scary and he was in hospital for a week but we became used to them.
Any fit in a child frightens the life out of you , is there any news yet how he is?

MIL was taken back into hospital last night as her Oxygen levels had dropped and she was a bit wobbly and out of breath,
The ambulance came and she had a right toddler tantrum, she thought just the district nurses were coming out,
Screaming at the ambulance drivers swearing and refusing to let them test her,
I'm not going into hospital you can't make me, I'm going to bed , get out etc,
At the finish B lost his temper something he never does but she was going on ridiculous,

Anyway she shut up and let them do their job and went into hospital.
I think she was shocked B actually shouted,
Normally he's firm but doesn't raise his voice but he was right sometimes it's the only way to get through to her.

We are waiting to see what ward they transferred her too,
His sister went with her last night but left at 12 when they had settled her.

Good morning all, a wet one here!

                        Safe travels home Nan2.

                        Chaos there then Daisy
I hope that baby is OK today.

Oh Lizzie, that cyst sounds awful, and what pain (literally) that it keeps filling up again.

I hope MIL is feeling better, and calmer now!

Boys day today. Little E as usual, then GS2 from school, today instead of tomorrow. I don't know which of them will be more excited about little E being with me for school pick up
GS1 was due to come here from 6.30 until about 9.30 tonight while his mum goes out. However yesterday DD said he had a cold so she won't send him. We will see how he is today I suppose.
Golf for OH but they may not play. I would just meet up got coffee instead if it were me!
