Oma, DD cant have the Hickman so its a less invasive PICC in the arm. For now at least.
GD and GS2 know, appropriate to their different ages. I'm not sure what GS1 has been told.

I have had a sore throat on and off for a few days. I hope yours goes away soon xx

Gem, hope all goes well for DD today.
Not doing the school run will hopefully make things a bit esier for you.
Our nephew has the Hickman line in a couple of tmes a year, for certain drugs for cystic fibrosis.
The drugs won't work as they should with a PICC line.

Oma and Nan2, I am doing the school run
I don't need to any Friday at the moment, and DD2 has collected him herself and come here with him to visit the last two weeks.
I said I would do it today, to make things a bit more normal. Good that I knew it's ok whenever I can't though.

          Good Friday morning, everyone.

Gem, I'm so glad you are managing to get to your Aqua class. Relax and enjoy as best you can. Your school run arrangements sound very sensible, while keeping things as normal as possible for your GS. I'm sure he will be delighted to see you there today. It's difficult to know how to explain to children, and as you say, dependent on their ages and levels of understanding.

Yes, we are trying to pace ourselves, but I'm itching to get out in the garden.

Nanto, you're right about the weather! We had a lot of rain in the night - again. Enjoy your KFC.

Oma, you must be relieved MIL doesn't want to do her own shopping today. I hope the stair lift is ok now b has taped over the Off button. I hope your sore throat is soon better.

No particular plans for us today. Sainsburys are due 1-2, but that's all. I want to start the pruning in the garden, but need to let the water drain away first. There's more rain forecast this afternoon, and it coincides with high tide so that always slows the drainage.

When we got to MILs our Martin was there so lovely to see him 😁

It was much quicker and easier to get around the supermarket,
We know exactly what she buys so didn't have to second guess,

I checked her fridge before I went and had to throw several things out,
Potato salad from January, cooked beef I said not to buy last week but she insisted she wanted it , it was out of date ,
Pork pie out of date 🙄,

I know Gem had the same with her mother always having to throw stuff out.

            Daisy
It's still lashing down and very windy here,
Good luck getting the pruning done.

When we got home the delivery men had left some parcels behind the plant pots out front ,
Luckily we were back about 5 minutes after they left or they would have been very wet.

Oma, the rain started earlier than expected, but I did at least walk Eva before it started, and I cut back plants in a couple of pots. Not much, but a start.

What nice surprise to see Martin at your MIL's. I don't suppose she checks dates on food very carefully, and I think some things can be a couple of days "out" but still perfectly ok provided they look ok and smell ok. But I wouldn't take a chance on something like a pork pie or cooked meat.

DD and SIL3 came back to pick up little E and had lunch here. DD1 turned up with cake for us all.
It was lovely to collect GS2 from school. DD2 came early to pick him up, so we got time for a cuppa and chat.
We decided to order a KFC from Deliveroo for our tea once DD and GS left.

Oma, yes that was happening with my mum a lot. In the end I had to check the fridge each week to check what was needed and throw out anything out of date.
                Nice surprise to see Martin

I'm glad you did Eva's walk before the rain Daisy. It hasn't really stopped all day here.

She is wasting so much food lately.

                      Good morning ladies.

I hope it stays dry for your trip to town Nan2.

Oma rest up and try to get better xxx
We did enjoy the KFC (and no cooking!)
DD was a bit sore but OK, very tired too.
They gave her a couple of sleeves to cover the line and she has ordered some fancier ones online.

We are going to the supermarket for a few things soon. No other plans today.

                        Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Nanto, enjoy your trip out. It's always harder to organise get togethers when people have to work week-ends.

Oma, I'm sorry to hear you have caught a cold. You've been exhausting yourself but haven't had time to rest and regain your energy, so I'm glad you're going to have a lazy day and get some proper rest. Sending hugs.

Gem, how lovely to have your KFC delivered. Nobody delivers takeaways here. No wonder your DD was tired. It must have been a long day. I hope she slept well last night and is feeling a bit better today. Good for you having a quiet ay as well.

I'm just going to put a load of towels in the wash, then sort out the chest freezer and put the dog food in that's just arrived. There's nothing exciting happening, but at least it's not raining.

                          Evening ladies,
                          I haven't done a lot today ,
Felt yuk so just sat around ,

Mil was taken back into hospital this morning,
She didn't feel well so carers just phoned an ambulance,
No one told any of us it was MIL who rang B to say ambulance was there,

They are supposed to ring one of his sisters.

I rang hospital at lunch time to see what was happening ,
They had no record of an admission,
Kept getting put through to different departments,
All saying the same she wasn't there.

So I rang another hospital, that MIL has been in before, , spoke to a lovely helpful lady, she took all MILs details and found her straight away on the system
She was definitely at our Hospital even gave us the time she was admitted and what ward they had taken her too.

So I rang back to our hospital ,
Told them what I had found out ,
They put me through to the ward and yes she was there.

She has an infection so on antibiotics and her stats were a bit all over the place,

She was fine yesterday, but with someone her age it can change very quickly .

We can't go down , I'm full of cold and can't be bothered anyway,
So SIL2 is going in tomorrow, ward said not to bother tonight and SIL1 going Monday .
Then we will see from there.

It rained while were in town, infact its rained most of the day.
Everyone we spoke to in town said how fed up of the rain they are.
                            Didn't meet DS2,he was working until 3.

Oma, sorry to hear MIL is back in hospital. Hope you feel better soon.

Nanto, the rain is getting a lot of people down. It seems endless. I hope you didn't get wet.

Oma, how kind of the lady at the other hospital to 'find' your MIL. I wonder why the hospital who admitted her couldn't do that. No, you are definitely not fit to go visiting at the moment, irrespective of not wanting to pass your cold on to others. Stay home and get better, it's not as though your MIL won't have any visitors, and if she's feeling poorly with the infection she perhaps won't have energy for them anyway.

I seem to have had a fairly busy day. I sorted out the freezer and put the dog food away then did Eva's physio exercises with her. She thinks it's all a game and loves the treats. But I think she was tired afterwards and really snuggled down with me on the sofa while I put a cold pack on her knee. I took her for a little walk after lunch and ran into some neighbours who have just lost their much-loved elderly spaniel. It's hard to know what to say, but they made a fuss of Eva and said they'd look after her any time. I ended up having to walk back along the main road because the pathway was under water. I should have worn wellies!

I managed half an hour in the garden as well, and pruned the apple trees. We've only got 3 cordon-trained, so it's not hard. I'll do the pears another day. OH was feeling very tired today, so I made dinner. I hope he feels better tomorrow.

Not raining at the moment, hooray.

Daisy, glad Eva doesn't mind doing the exercises, do you think they are making a difference?

No plans for today, up to now anyway.
