Good morning everyone, soooo cold here again. In some parts of the Netherlands they are skating on nature ice! It will be short lived as warm weather forecast from Wednesday.

DIL has taken the girls and BF to the Efteling, theme park, she usually takes the around GD 2's birthday, she will be 16 a week today. They often go to McDonalds on their way home, I just phoned DS1 to ask if they were going to go as I have promised the girls a meal out and said I would pay, he said it was very sweet of me but with the four of them it would be too expensive on top of the theme park entrance charges so the 3 of them make a bake tray yesterday all ready to put in the oven when they are almost home, DS1 will do that so they will appreciate that. He told me what it would cost for the McDonalds.

Daisy, you would have a nice weekend, especially with the delicious roast dinner as a bonus.

You are right about the life insurance, no premium been paid for 24 years so there isn't much to receive. I forgot to mention on other post, the help desk asked if I had also given R my bank account number? No, I didn't do that. I wonder if they would have given me all the same information if I had phoned? He was very official giving the name of the organisation etc.

Gemini, How nice for you to spend an evening unexpectedly free to relax at home.

Daisy your weekend sounded good for everyone. Your GS will have an enjoyable time restoring his dad’s car with the help of his Grandad. I bet Eva was pleased to see you although I am sure she had a nice time with DS’s family

Oma, what a nuisance and expense everything giving up on you. I hate having to make decisions about large purchases.

Nanto, I just fancy a jacket potato now, I must buy some large potatoes.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant I love jacket potatoes too. I sometimes have one with tuna for my lunch, when I am tired of sandwiches or soup.

        Oma, blackcurrant what a mess!

Cold here too Lizzie, but not that cold!

I had coffee after aqua with the one friend who was there today. This afternoon OH and I dropped my car off then went out for a late lunch before going back for the car. We are told the tyre rim was slightly rusted so leaking air, so he has sealed that. Another £25!

Oma, that sounds like a big power cut. When I was at DIL's yesterday her mum came round, and she had had a power cut about 10 am, and it was due to be restored about 2.30. Nicely covering the time when a lot of people are cooking their Sunday dinners. It just shows how much we depend on electricity.

Oma, I bet you were cross when that blackcurrent drink went flying! It's not the easiest stain to get out of things, is it.

Gem, Let's hope your car tyre will be ok now. There's always something, isn't there, but not as bad as white goods and tvs packing up.

Lizzie, I hope your GDs have enjoyed the theme park and their McDonalds.

I did jacket potatoes for dinner today, with trout fillets and a load of vegetables. OH is going out about 6.15 so I'll have to go and make us a quick sandwich before he goes.

I've just taken Eva round to a friend's to pick up their post while they are on holiday. I left her in the front garden while I dealt with it all, and when I turned round she was shivering! We didn't go any further.

Poor Eva, she must have been really cold.
Apparantly, its going to be milder on thursday.

Hubby's pal has seen the doctor today, and he thinks pal has got an infection thats gone into his bloodstream.
He's waiting for results of his blood test now.

Oma, i bet that blackcurrant made a bit of a mess.

Lizzie,i thought it was cold here, but your neck of the woods sounds colder.

It even got inside the drawers it was everywhere.
That won't happen again , I will make sure my water bottle is clean.

Been to the post office, and it's bitterly cold.

My friend M was there and we must have been chatting nearly half an hour. We were in the shop though, too cold to stand outside.

Don't suppose much is happening today for us.

They are begging for coppers at the shop, we have got about £10 so hubby is going to bag them up and take them.

At hubby's request dinner is chips, egg and peas.

Good morning, it is cold here as well Nanto, -4 when I biked to the gym. They like loose change here in the shops as hardly anyone pays with cash anymore.

It is both my DIL's birthdays today, GD1 just phoned, I am eating there tonight, that isn't why she phoned, she is having her nails done in Zoetermeer and could I take her, I have looked on the map and it isn't in the centre so I will take her.

I have just phoned the surgery as the shingles are playing up again, they were all clear up to yesterday (stress?????). I did read that is it doesn't blister it keeps returning. We don't have to wait on the phone, they will phone me back at 9-50am.

                    Good morning ladies.

Oma, poor Eva , I hope she soon got warmed up.

Enjoy the egg and chips etc Nan2

I hope you have a nice meal Lizzie. Shingles can keep recurring can't it, but you have only just recovered from the last bout!

Library this morning. I am having GSs I and 2 today. GS2 is coming with me. GS1 may , or may stay here his mum says. If he won't come I will probably stay less time at the library.
Free health check for the kittens at our local vets this afternoon. Also hopefully they will remove Poppy's stitches. She manages to chase around madly and climb trees with them in, so she's certainly recovered

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. We've got sunshine, but it ws frosty overnight and the "feels like" temperature is -2C.

Lizzie, lots of birthday celebrations in your family today! I hope both DILs have a lovely day. Does GD1 have very decorative nails done? What a nuisance about the shingles playing up again, but as you say, stress doesn't help. I hope you're feeling ok now.

Nanto, you're right about it being freezing. Everyone tells me it's supposed to get warmer later this week. I hope they're right. Good for your OH taking coppers to your local shop. My DS2 and DIL keep a float for their shop till, but sometimes some coins just seem to be in short supply - along with £5 notes. They like it when customers pay in cash though as the merchant charges for non-cash payments are so high these days.

No particular plans for me today, apart from portioning up dog food - I let it run down when OH was ill. The sun this morning is showing up the windows and I ought to start cleaning them.

Gem our posts crossed. You are going to have a busy day. I hope GS1 comes to the library with you as well - it's good for him to get out and he's got GS2 for company. It's good to hear Poppy is racing round and back to her normal self. Enjoy your busy day. xx

                          Morning ladies
My goodness it's brass monkey weather, absolutely freezing .

                          Nanto
Not a day to stand outside chatting is it.
Your graphic is very much like what it feels today.

                          Daisy
I bet your windows have Eva's kisses all over them😁

Enjoy your time with the boys ,
it would be good if GS1 came with you I bet GS2 would be thrilled to see him.
The kittens have made a swift recovery haven't they.

                          Lizzie
Hope you enjoy your meal and GD likes her nails,
At least you don't have to go into the town centre.

Shingles are a thing that can keep flaring up, so painful too,
I hope the Dr can do something to help x

We went to Boots this morning as MIL wanted some cream and I can only order it from boots,
We then went into Bon marche and I bought two pairs of trousers ,
Went into Sainsbury's and bought two PJ bottoms and a few bits ,
Came home taking my coat off B had gone into the kitchen and all I heard was oh Sh**

I went in and there was milk everywhere,
Somehow the new just opened this morning 4 pint bottle must have been squashed in the door it had split and the contents were all over the floor , the bottom of the fridge door was like a milk pool,
It had gone under the kick board under the drawers and sink ,so B had to take that off so we could clean under there,
Pull the fridge out to get the pool that was sitting under and empty the bottom of the fridge out.

What is it with us and liquids at the moment , first the blackcurrant then this.
Not what I was wanting but hey ho these things happen , just seems to be happening to us at the moment 🥴😁

Lizzie, sorry to hear your shingles has returned, nasty thing. Enjoy your time with GD, you are such a help to your GD’s

Oma, Oh my goodness what a mess to clear up when you were probably needing a sit down after shopping.

It is a lovely sunny day here, I have been busy this morning but I really should go out and get some fresh air. I think I will go up to the parade to take some things to the charity shop and get some petrol.

Nanto, sorry you are not having this sunny weather.

Gemini, I do hope your GS1 goes with you to the library, he seems to spend too much time indoors and not socialising with others.

Daisy, leave the windows, enjoy the sunshine, perhaps get your paints out. I hope your OH is feeling stronger.

Oma, goodness me all these spills are certainly keeping you busy cleaning!!

Plant getting out if the weather is good is a good idea.

Both GSs came with me to the library and we stayed almost two hours. GS1 was looking a little anxious towards the end so it was time to go. He did very well as it was a busy day. He's a quick shelver so did some of my shelving. I treated them both to a cake from the cafe. The librarian got out the Saturday Lego Club Lego and books out, so GS2 was very happy 😊

Kittens are running around the garden having had to stay in all morning.

Hallo everyone, you are in a wet state Oma, that would be a lot of milk, plus the fact if you miss any it will turn sour!

I enjoyed my trip out with GD1, it was easy to find and I waited whilst she got her nails done then we walked into the old village street and had lunch! The restaurant we went to is one where people with an intellectual disability work, it has been there for years as I remember going with DH years ago. They do all the cooking, serving etc and really enjoy being able to work. A treat day for me with eating there later, they are having pizza so will order me a salad.

Leaving Zoetermeer I took a turn off and said to GD1, I hope this isn't the one to Den Haag! It was, so my car has had a good warm up for a change.

The surgery phoned back and the doctor wants to see me so I have an appointment at 8am tomorrow.

You would enjoy having the GS's together at the library Gem.

Plant, it is lovely and sunny here as well, it was a nice walk into the village street.

GD1 loves her nails, they are quite plain Daisy, she isn't one for extras! I wonder who she gets that from?????? She is getting excited about Portugal, they will be there 10 days. I asked what for work experience they would be doing, helping teachers in junior schools, I asked her how they will cope with the language ? She replied "nan, we can use our hands"!!

They all enjoyed the theme park yesterday, it got chilly late afternoon but they managed to walk 20,000 steps, I asked her between the 4 of them, no, each!
