It was a quiet NYE for us as well.

Today, i keep thinking it's sunday.
All decorations put away,and had a good clean up.
Fridge has been done,ready for shopping being delivered tomorrow.

Plant my DD and SIL3 are in their 30's and were in bed by 10.30 last night. Seeing in the new year isn't for everyone.

It does feel like Sunday doesn't it.
I was in bed by 11 , didn't hear any fireworks at all around us.

MIL is back to normal mostly , she has a carer going in twice a week to help her in and out of the bath ,
She has a bath lift. But not confident using it herself,
She also has a cleaner once a week to change her bed and do some heavy work like window cleaning ,
But she's doing her own shopping again ,
We still do her meals though.

It's so cold and wet at the moment.

The weather is so mild here but wet, I would rather have it cold and frosty. I gather we are expecting some colder weather. GD’s throat infection is getting better.

Oma, your Mil is amazing, after being so poorly she has bounced back to do her own shopping.

Nanto, I sorted out my fridge yesterday, unfortunately Christmas stuff not used thrown away, froze what I could. Lettuce soup anyone?

Oh dear, this talk of sorting fridges out has reminded me I must do ours tomorrow. We've been using the camping freezer as extra fridge space (you can set what ever temperature you want), and that needs cleaning and putting away as well.

I have totally lost track of what day it is and always find it confusing switching to a new calendar on 1st January.

It's been a horrible day, weather-wise, with high winds, rain and very little daylight. I took Eva out just after lunch, because it was already getting dark, and she crouched down to do a wee, stepping in a huge, very soft cow-pat in the process! I walked her through every puddle we saw and rang OH to ask him to greet us at the back door with a dog towel. I hope stepping in a cow-pat is supposed to be lucky.

Plant, some food items just can't be rescued, can they! I hate throwing food away though. Pleased to hear GD's throat infection is getting better.

Oma, your MIL is very resilient. There was a point when it was touch and go as to whether she'd be able to cope in her own home, and now look at her.

Gem, I think when you have small children like your DD3 and SIL you need your sleep more - you never know when you're going to get a disturbed night.

We are hoping to get the lights off the tree this morning.
Apparently it's going to be cold but sunny today.

Shopping being delivered between 9 and 10.

No golf for OH, the course is closed due to waterlogging .

Good Thursday morning. It's cold and a bit frosty, but we've just had a beautiful sunrise.

Lots to do today - everything from taking decorations down, cleaning up, and piles and piles of washing. What fun!

Nanto, looking at the weather forecast it might be the best day to get your lights off the tree.

Our lights are still out it's to cold at the moment maybe later in the day it will warm up enough.

Not a lot on today , Dog walker coming at 10 then we will go see to cats while he's on his walk .
I have about 5 items to iron I will get them done but if I don't nothing waiting for.

Housing are ringing me back about next door when the estate manager gets in the office lord knows what time that will be .
They have a duty of care for all the neighbours not just their tenants , I will be pushing for the Anti social behaviour team to get involved .
She's quiet this morning but I don't expect it to last.

Lovely and sunny atm, I am going to take the opportunity to go to John Lewis to change or return an item. I will probably grab some lunch or just a scone and coffee.

Oma, I hope you get some response to your call to the Housing. Your family are lucky that they can go away and know you will be looking after their animals. How are you and B, have you shaken off the virus.

Gem, have a lovely day with little E, he loves to come to you, especially now you have the kittens. Do they scratch much, they have such sharp claws.

Good morning and a Happy New Year to you all.

we had a very nice Christmas, everyone kept well and it was so good to get together which is rare these days. I also went to DDs NYE and we had a takeaway which was delicious, although I didn’t stay late and was in bed by midnight. I could hear the fireworks although they didn’t go on for too long thankfully.

its a lovely sunny day today after all the stormy weather, and I ve had all the windows open for a while. Just heard from DGD she arrived in Sri Lanka this morning for a two week holiday and was very excited about it. We are pleased she has gone with her friend as she is a keen solo traveller but the two girls together will have fun, and we are happier she is with someone.

im lost with the days also, have to think each morning what day is it and I’ve just updated my new calendar, seems like this last year has simply flown by.

i,hope everyone is well, and that we all have a healthy 2025

DS1 and GD2 came for dinner today,they've both just gone.

I have had a clearout today, well a cupboard has,not me.
We stll had the router from early 90's when the internet started
Also had a router from when WI-FI started.
And another router when they upgraded us to the one we have now.
Well they have gone for recycling now.

Its been very cold but sunny today.

A belated Happy New Year to all Grans! Apologies for being a day late.......and me being Scottish should have been posting at 00.o1 on the first! But better late than never!

I had the family round for our traditional New Year's meal of Steak Pie! Sadly I think I overdid it with getting everything ready and paid for it with a very painful hip/thigh! However, several glasses of fizz ensured I had a good night's sleep without the use of painkillers! Took a while to get started this morning, but I couldn't miss out on the beautiful sunshine so I went out for a walk. Made sure it was all on the level as my hip doesn't like walking uphill yet! After the doom and gloom of the past few days, it felt so good to be out in the fresh air even if it took twice as long and I had my crutch!

Still some pie etc left so that's tonight's dinner sorted and part 2 of the final Vera is on, so that's my viewing sorted too.

Have appointment with my consultant on Monday, so I'm hoping he's pleased with my progress and advises what I need to do next. This is followed by a physio appointment on Tuesday and again I'm hoping for advice from her re strengthening muscles etc.

We are both fine now thank you for asking ,
I didn't think a few weeks ago we would be.
Now Martin has it and he's been in bed 2 days can't lift his arms and the cough has pulled a chest muscle so he's in agony.

4 police officers and a mental health worker turned up after lunch ,
Took her away to the Drs to get her meds then brought her back.
B was outside taking the lights down so they had a chat and B told them basically what had been happening and the abuse , he said that's why they were there, due to my phone calls and my neighbours email to the housing boss,
The housing officer for this area is ringing me on Monday when she's in the office.
I rang again this afternoon and told them I wasn't letting it slide .
She is one of their tenants and they must take responsibility.

That was a good clear out you had. B sorted through a big box of cables he had last night , why he keeps them I don't know 🫤

I bet GD has a wonderful time but it is a worry young girls going traveling .
We had no fireworks this year for some reason .

We have been to see to the cats it's freezing out ,
DD is back late tomorrow night so we will put the heating on tomorrow,
They have had a brilliant time , lots of snow boarding ice skating sledging etc
Lots of laughter and falling but nothing broken thank goodness,
DD said SIL was brilliant at ice skating very fast but didn't know how to stop so just had to crash into the side 🤣🤣
