The care home lost my mum's wedding ring

I have her engagement ring, as it got too big for her and the care home found it on the bathroom floor and I brought it home for safekeeping. Her wedding ring was too big also but she wore it on a gold chain around her neck. One day I noticed she wasn't wearing it. A big search was carried out but it was never found. Thank goodness by then mum wasn't with it enough to truly realise. The odd time she did realise she wasn't wearing it I said 'Don't worry mum it's fine. I'm keeping it safe at home for now.'

Oma, I hope you get more sleep tonight. It's so difficult with a cough.

It was freezing when I went out this morning but had risen to 2 degrees on my way home!
Aquafit was very vigorous today. I think she is getting us all fit for the festive season! Just one friend there but we stayed for coffee and a chat.

Plant, happy birthday to your GD1. How did the board games go today? Perhaps having the outside lights up will help to make you feel more Christmassy. It's still 3 weeks away, so plenty of time! You are still a bit under par but hopefully your energy will get better in time for Christmas Day.

Lots of people never take off their wedding rings it seems. I take mine off every night as my finger gets sore if I wear it non-stop. My mother wore hers all the time - but she did ask me to take it off before she passed away. I'm keeping it for GD1 as she shares her middle name with my mum, and I'd like GD2 to have my ring as my name is her second name. Gem, it must have been very upsetting when the care home lost your Mum's ring, but I'm glad she never knew the truth.

Oma, I'm sorry your sleep was disturbed, but hopefully you are on the mend - just don't start trying to do too much.

Nanto, your tree sounds lovely. Have you taken a photo of it all lit up?

Gem, I hope you're not aching tomorrow after such an active aqua class today.

OH did wrap up well today and they mostly worked in the garage. His COPD is mild but I still think he should take care! Eva and I both enjoyed class this afternoon. It was quite relaxed even though there were 7 dogs there. At least they all knew each other and were fairly relaxed. Apart from wolfing down her dinner, Eva has slept since we got home.

It's an early start in the Daisy household tomorrow. OH has an appointment for a hearing check up, and there are at least 3 and possibly 4 sets of temporary lights between here and Specsavers! It could be a slow journey. If I get back in time I'm meeting up with college friends for lunch, but I think I'm going down with a cold now! I won't go if I don't feel ok because I wouldn't want to pass it on to a couple of friends who are quite vulnerable.

We have decided which setting we are having it on, I'll try and remember to take a photo today.

No plans for us today, we'll just take the day as it comes.

Little GS3 today. We have no plans and will probably stay in. This time next year we will be doing all sorts of Christmassy things

How did games afternoon go ?

Well I didn't cough as much last night so that's a bonus.
Decided I would goto Aldi as I hadn't been out all week.

Big mistake got about half way and had to sit on a crate of beer , I was about to pass out.
One of the girls got me a glass of water then B got me back in the car.

I'm so glad it was just after 8 so nearly empty I felt such a fool.

I'm clearly not well enough yet but I tried.

Golf club dinner for OH, so salmon for tea and Encanto on Disney + for me this evening

Just had lunch with a lovely friend, we worked at the local school for years. We had a nice fish and chip lunch in a nice pub overlooking the village pond. Problem is that our village green and pond is like a car park, I think people leave their cars there and get the bus into town or to the station.
