Good morning. Bright and dry here today. Nothing planned today, but DD will be over sometime with my shopping delivery. Feeling better, everyday gets easier although my ribs are very painful if I cough, hopefully that won’t last long.

just posted about a phone scam I’ve just had, we still have to be so careful. Very clever this one especially in light of my latest “adventure”!!

Bit brighter here today, hope it lasts. An injured small fox was asleep on my outside mat under cover when I got up but it has wandered off now. Not much anyone could do really. I. Am hoping to go with GD to fetch H from school later, just for an outing, might call at M&S Foodhall on the way back. Still in pain but I feel I must get out.

Hello, internet is down and I see from the local FB page that it's widespread here. I am connected via my phones 4g, hopefully normal service will resume at some point!

All OK at the dentist, so not too expensive.

Plant, I hope getting out did you good. Do you feel there is any improvement to your pain?

I think the ribs will ease each day Enfys.

I hope you got to dog training on time Daisy

WG I hope you are OK today.

Been a better day weatherwise, had a glimmer of sun and some blue skies.

Plant, hope you feel better for having a little outing.
Lizzie, hope you will be well enough for your boat trip.

Made the chicken stew this morning.
I'll have to cut down on the homemade ready meals, not got much space in either freezer now.

          Not had any visitors today.

Nanto, it's such a treat to have a better day weather-wise. I'd love to be invisible when your OH and his friend are chatting - I wonder what they talk about. I'm currently running down my chest freezer because it was getting so I couldn't fit anything else in. I haven't even ordered dog food this month, but I can get top up supplies fairly locally if needed. We had a chicken curry out of the freezer tonight.

Lizzie, did you manage to take your boat trip>. It looks lovely, and as Oma says, gives you a different perspective. We said the same thing about the Isle of Wight coach trip on Friday - you could see over lots of hedges and walls, and saw some lovely gardens.

Gem, glad the dentists wasn't too much of an ordeal. Such a nuisance when the internet goes down. We haven't got great phone reception which makes it worse. Four G is a luxury!! How did S get on with her hearing aids check?

Plant, I hope you managed the trip out to fetch H from school - she would be so excited to see you. Sometimes you have to push through the pain, I know, but I hope you have taken everything very gently.

Enfys, you are making a good recovery thank goodness, but I can imagine how painful it is when you cough. Take care.

WeeGranny, how are you today? I hope you slept ok last night, and I'm sure it was more comfortable than a hospital bed. Small consolation I know, when you've still got the op to go though.

Oma, are you pleased with your hair cut and colour? B's hand is healing up very quickly! It must be down to the good nursing he's getting at home.

OH's eye is still red where the injection went in, and there is bruising round the eye socket, but it will all heal up in a day or two - it's just uncomfortable at the moment. Gem, that's an interesting thought about eye colour, but OH's eyes are brown. But he's always been very sensitive about eyes. When I wore contact lenses he couldn't even watch me put them in! Although he often helped me to look for them when I dropped them!

The neighbour who asked me to go round this morning wanted some help with choosing plants for a new border in the garden. I have explained that I'm no expert!!! He showed me online the plants he really liked - and they were all Daphnes. Now I've tried growing them - several different varieties - in every garden I've ever had with no success! I clearly wasn't in a position to give advice, except maybe don't grow Daphnes.

There were only 5 of us at dog training this afternoon - 4 old timers and one newbie. We had a different set up for flyball today, and all the dogs made a complete hash of it! It just shows how things can become a habit.

Well Daisy, today was going quite well and I was feeling a bit more positive until the consultant's secretary rang. How are you ? she asked. Feeling better today than I was yesterday, I replied. She went on to say she was the bearer of bad news! Seems my consultant has had a family emergency which involves him travelling overseas and having to cancel all his appointments for October. She offered two dates and I said I had to speak to my children as DS had to rearrange flights etc. Anyway, spoke to them, both agreed to go for the earlier date so that's what I've done. Only problem is the one I've gone for on 1st November isn't at the local hospital but a bit further away. A bit of a pain, but the next date was 26th November and as I said to the secretary, I don't think I could last that long! So fingers and everything else crossed that nothing else changes before then. Now I expect I'll have to go through all the rigmarole of pre=op assessments and doing all the anti MRSA washing and swabbing again! At least I've got my crutches and toilet seat as well as all the other bits and pieces!

On the plus side it means I can go to the Ladies Group lunch, get my hair done and not have to rush around sorting things out!

Been to book club which was in a house just across the road, so not far to walk! I think we chat more about other things and set the world to rights than we do about the book we've read! It's a nice easy meeting!

Anyway, I'm off to bed and hope I sleep as well as I did last night.....mind you that might have been down to the strong painkillers!!!

              Nigh night ladies xx

                Good morning.

Oh dear WG another delay. Hopefully, you'll be up and about for Christmas.

Oma, hope MIL is settling back in at home.

No plans so far for us today.

Dinner will be fish in some form or other.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

WG, oh what bad luck! I'm so sorry for you. You just want it over so you get recover and get on with your life.

Daisy , that blows my blue eyes feel more pain theory out of the water! I hope OH's eye is less sore today.

How did MIL's transfer to home go Oma?

Little E day today, golf for OH.
It's fine so I will get some washing on the line.

                    Morning ladies
                    Crisp but bright.

Off for Flu jab in a moment then to Sainsburys for MILs shopping and then take it over.
SIL text earlier MIL had slept well and was still in bed but seemed settled,

B printed and laminated a sign to go on her front door to ask people who knock to give her time to answer ,
We will put that up while we are there.

I will pop back on here later and catch up on the news 😁

Good Thursday morning everyone. We have sunshine. It's a bit watery, but I'm not complaining.

WeeGranny, oh, how I feel for you. That is so frustrating and puts your life on hold for another month, to say nothing of the pain. I'm glad there are some plus sides to the delay, even if they are relatively minor to suffering more pain. Sending hugs. xxx

Oma, I hope MIL is ok. It's a good idea to warn visitors that she needs time to answer the door. Does she have one of those kay safes for family use or emergencies?

Gem, enjoy your day with little E. Good luck with getting the washing dry. It's hit and miss at this time of year, isn't it.

Nato, could fish be fish and chips from the chippy to give you a day off from the kitchen?

OH has gone to the local hospital for a blood test. Our surgery seem to do some tests themselves and others are at the hospital. He's going to do the farm shop shopping on the way back. I'm going to get on with some gardening when the lawn's dried out a bit.

                        Afternoon ladies,

                        Daisy
It got out warm and sunny here, I hope you managed to get into the garden,

                        Gem
                        Its a nice drying day,
Have you any plans with baby today. S will be pleased the weather is fine .

                        Nanto
I bought Salmon yesterday and some Cod .
We we’re going to have the cod with chips today but B fancied beef casserole with veg,
Veg yes but I will only eat a little of the beef.

                        WG
                        What a disappointment,
Not good for your DS also having to change his plans .
These things happen but not good for you is it , chin up hopefully no delays next time.

                        MIL was in fine form,
We took enough meals to last her 3 weeks her freezer is full. Everytime we made a meal while she was in hospital we froze one for her.

She had slept 9 hours last night in her own bed and looked better for it.
The carers we’re just leaving when we got there, they had bathed her and she felt refreshed.

They have put in every aid she needs nothing been spared.
She is also wearing her alarm so that’s a good thing.

Her walker downstairs is fitted with a tray so she can put a plate or cup on .

SIL said she did the washing up after tea herself and put her own clothes away when she emptied her hospital bag ,
When we left she was going to make herself a bacon sandwich and watch afternoon telly.

Carer going in again later and other SIL staying tonight ,
After that she doesn’t want anyone staying , she feels confident enough to be alone.

                        Daisy
Yes she has a key box had one for a few years now.

Daisy our Drs surgery has stopped doing blood tests. For myself I don't mind. OH and I much prefer the NHS blood taking service at the stadium (attached to the sports centre where I go for aquafit) It's their job and they are much better than the practice nurses at blood taking! I feel for older people with no transport who can't get there or to the hospital however.

Wow Oma, MIL is doing really well My mum's friend has a walker with a tray she finds it so useful.

                          Lovely and sunny here

I brought the car garage out this morning as GS3 is into cars now. He was so excited! We have a box full of cars so he played for ages.

Wee Granny, what a disappointment for you to have to postpone your op. I hope you will not be in too much pain.

We have sunshine too, quite warm and cheerful. I went out with GD yesterday to pick up a few bits from M&S Foodhall and now I am in more pain again, just as I felt it was improving so back on the stronger painkillers.

GD1, her OH and H have now moved in with us and their furniture is in my garage. Never a dull moment here.

Oma Mil is managing so well with the family help. How is the hairstyle?

Gemini, enjoy your day with your GS, he sounds a little sweetie and loves his time with you and S

She needs another perm so I’m going to ask around and see if anyone knows a mobile hairdresser that still do perms at home when she’s feeling a bit stronger .

Plant, it's a pity moving about increases the pain but hopefully with painkillers and rest it will settle down.

Plant, little GS3 does love being here, and he certainly brings a lot of joy to us. He and I did some garden work this afternoon
I pushed him around the lawn on his trike with push handle. We both filled the carrier at the back of the bike with fallen apples, then I pushed him to our green garden waste bin and he watched me throw them in. We did this 3 or 4 times. Resting my back now!
