Oma, your MIL is amazing, and doing very well. Is it too much to hope she has also mellowed a bit. Although, to be honest, I would miss the tales of her comments and "eccentricities". I'm glad she's got an alarm and is using it though, and also has a key safe. I think they are such a useful invention. I hope you can find her a mobile hairdresser who does perms.

Plant, poor you feeling poorly again. As you say, never a dull moment in your house. Are GD and family moving in for the foreseeable future or is it just a temporary measure?

Gem, I'd forgotten about the fun of playing cars and garages! Both my DSs loved cars and they had loads of Matchbox toy vehicles. We got a garage and some cars for both GSs to play with at our house and they enjoyed them, and so did both GDs! Our surgery had stopped doing any blood tests, but seem to have started again for selected ailments, but other still done by the phlebotomists at the hospital. OH was in and out in just a few minutes.

OH's eye is still a bit red and still bruised round the socket, but it's less uncomfortable and OH was happy to drive this morning. We've been gardening all afternoon a d enjoying relatively nice weather. I'm tired and aching now though, but must go and get us some dinner.

Gosh doesn't a bit of sunshine make everything feel better ? It's clouded over a bit now but it's been lovely.

Drove to the out of town Next earlier just to have a look around. Stock was very low and needless to say they didn't have any jeans in a short length. I can't be the only one with little legs can I ? Strangely enough, my hip doesn't hurt when I'm driving! Now going to check if they've got what I want on line! I then went to Waitrose which is in the same area and stocked upon a few bits and pieces for the next few days. I was pleased I'd taken a trolley as it was handy to lean on as I was going around!

Oma I hadn't realised that MiL was back home again! Hope she settles quickly and doesn't go back to her old ways!

Plant, sorry to hear you're still in pain, hope the painkillers help. I didn't realise either that GD1 and family were moving back. I take it living with FiL hasn't worked out? Must be a busy place round yours. Are GD2 and partner still there too? Your GS1's home office is coming on. I can see the roof from my bedroom now!

DS has a very accommodating boss re him changing flights etc. Luckily he can work from home and as long he can be contacted she seems quite happy for him to come back. They do seem to be family orientated out there.

Have a good evening ladies xx

            Good morning.
Hope the weather is as good today as it was yesterday.

No plans for today as yet. Hubby out with his meet up with his pal, I'll have a couple of hours to myself.
Glad we got the gardening done yesterday.

Just sorted things for dinner, gammon and pineapple, baby potatoes and veg.

            Have a good day ladies.

              Morning Nanto / ladies.

              Nanto
A few hours on your own is something we all need now and again isn’t it,
Will you get on with things you can’t while he’s around 😁

              Plant
              How are you today?
having GD and H there is lovely but make sure they don’t tire you out,
Has living with FIL not worked out for them.

              WG
maybe the way you sit to drive takes the pressure off your hip that’s why it’s not painful then.
We went to Next a few weeks ago looking for a jacket for B it was poorly stocked as was Roman when I went in to look for a top,

              Gem
I bet E had a lovely time with the cars and grandma pulling him around the garden,
Not easy now he’s growing 😁

I am waiting for the dog to arrive,
B off for his flu jab and see the Dr at 9 then the same Dr is ringing me at 9.30 for telephone consultation 🙄

                Good morning everyone.

Gammon is something we haven't had for a long time Nan2. I must put some on the shopping list!

Sunshine definitely does make things seem better WG. I hope you get through the next few weeks without too much pain.

Our hairdresser is due at 10. Just the usual trims for us both. GS1 is coming for a while this morning too.
GS2 after school, and I will post my Vinted sales.
I have just hung out some washing. Sunny, dry but cold outside at the moment.
                Happy Friday everyone.

Good Friday morning, everyone. We have sunshine as well. It's lovely, even though a bit of a chill in the air.

We've just put away the Sainsburys order, put the bins out and now waiting for Missy (next door neighbour's dog) who is spending the day with us. She's here now - back later!

Lovely and sunny here again, wish I could say the same about my pain. GS2, the phsio is coming this weekend, not that he can do much for me. Goodness knows where he is going to sleep, there is no room at the inn here. To answer your question Oma about the present arrangements, there was a slight falling out but their landlord needed the space for his own family. Long story. GD1 is doing my housework this morning.

WG, I hope the building my GS is constructing in his garden isn’t too intrusive, my Sil is there at the moment helping him. They need the room he has been using as an office for baby No3. Good job you are not shopping at Next this morning as there has been a major traffic accident on the by-pass.

Gemini have a lovely time with GS2 after school and GS1 this morning.

GD1 is doing my cleaning this morning, I have to mover or I will be sprayed, she loves a spray.

Good morning. Plant, sorry you’re still in pain, not funny is it. Weather ok here, dry and. It cold. Ut I still have t been out anywhere. Not been feeling too great, I think I o redid it when I thought I was ok and now I’m paying the price. So I’ve decided to take it really slow and I’m not going to my groups until I feel 100%. I’ve got a bad cough and not sleeping well so that’s. It helping.

Daisy how is your OHs eye, still improving I hope.

I think DD will pop in soon as she was getting a couple of things for me when she went to our local Home Bargains. I’m lucky that she is so near and helps out. I have a drawer in the kitchen that is driving me mad, it’s the drawer of doom!.,. Anything and everything gets shoved in there so that’s my next job….wish me luck, goodness knows what I’ll find!

We have a draw like that in the coffee table , I tidy it out and within a week it’s cluttered again 🙄

Its definitely a busy household for you all , shame about the fall out but these things happen .
Your DD & SIL must feel they are just getting free of them when they come home again 😁
In a way it’s lovely that they feel they can come home to Mum & Dad isn’t it.

                        Daisy
Im sure Missy and Eva will have a lovely day together,
How are the family doing, Is life getting back to a routine now?

How is E getting on at school is it any better?

Dr rang they are changing one of my BP tablets . The receptionist could have rang to tell me that but apparently the Dr had to get my permission to change them.
For goodness sake he is my Dr if he thinks they should be changed he doesn’t need my permission.

I meant to tell you a funny story yesterday.

We have a small freezer under the stairs and a little drinks fridge for Bs cans of pop on top.

Yesterday morning we took all MILs meals out of the freezer to take,
Last night about 8 pm I went under the stairs and on the top of the fridge was a leg of lamb ,
I looked at it for a few minutes , it wasn’t quite registering with me that it was a leg of lamb.
not what I was expecting to see.

I said to B why is there a leg of lamb on the fridge?

He said oh bugger I took it out of the freezer when getting mams food out, I forgot to put it back,
So the leg of lamb had to be cooked today as it defrosted 🙄

Can you imagine if we had gone away for a week and it was left there 😱😁

Honest talk about forgetful , it’s dumb and dumber in our house🤣🤣🤣

Hallo everyone, I have just had a quick read and had to laugh at leg of lamb Oma, a good thing Storm wasn't around!!

Plant, it must be so busy for you all.

Enfys, the fall will have shook you up more that you think, take it easy.

I have had a lovely morning + out on the boat, there were only 5 of us, holds 50! A beautiful town with so much history, fantastic architecture, Rotterdam was bombed flat during the was, Schiedam survived. It was and still is a distillery town, we passed all the old distilleries etc, most being turned into (expensive) apartments. We went under a few low bridges and had to lay low, how they do that when there are 50 of them I do not know. I enjoyed it and pleased I felt upto going.

I was on the underground when GD1 phoned, she was on her way to her work experience, at the child care in the school she attended, her front bike tyre was loose!!!!! How on earth did she manage that, I asked if it was punctured, she said she wasn't sure as she had met a man who helped her carry the bike to his front garden so it would be safe then she could walk further. I was just planning on getting the carrier on the car when I got a message from her, the man had sent her a message, he has mended the puncture for her and the bike is safe in their garden, what a nice thing to do!

Better than my experience on the metro, it was busy in Rotterdam, I was waiting for people to get off, I had a hold of the railing and young girl behind me saw 2 empty seats and almost pushed me under the train!!! I sat down next to her, she said the seat was for her boyfriend or brother, I asked her is she had no manners at all, she said she didn't speak Dutch, I told her that wasn't a problem, I can speak English!! I told her what she had done, she did apologise!

                          Comment

Boat trip sounds lovely Lizzie. Glad you were well enough to go.
How kind of the man to mend GD's bike.
Pleased the girl on the metro apologised to you.

I laughed at Oma's hubby leaving the leg of lamb out.
Just been laughing at my hubby.
While he was out this morning,i went in a drawer upstairs, but i couldn't close it.
Hubby had a look and said one of the runners had come off. Off he goes to the shed to get 2 screws.
I thought its taking a long time to get the screws. When he came back,he told me what had happened.
He knocked the jar of screws over into his rubbish bucket, then knocked the bucket over.
Ended up on the floor picking all his screws up that were mixed in with the rubbish.

Lovely weather again. Hope its the same tomorrow.

Nanto, Oh dear, I presume he was rushing.

Oma, Good job you found the leg of lamb before it went off. Busy household as you say but I think they are happier being here. H has just been out on her scooter, I sat in the sunshine watching her. Unfortunately we are running out of bedrooms, I don’t have a bed in my spare room.

Enfys, I think you are wise to take some time off to get some strength back. Have you some knitting on the go?

Gemini, did you have a visit from GS1? Has he settled in his new school?

Oma, whoops about the lamb! I have done the same but nothing so expensive.

                                Nan2, I can picture your OH's annoyance!

Lizzie, I'm glad you had a lovely trip Kind man to fix your GD's bike.

Enfys, you will know when you are ready for your groups, take things at your own pace.

I will update about GS1 on that thread at some point.

He arrived this morning and came with me to collect his cousin from school this afternoon, which was nice for both boys and gave DD1 a break.
I got my Vinted parcels dropped off OK.
