Sorry Nan2 and Oma, I didn't notice your posts before I posted!

Good Saturday morning, everyone.
Nanto, I hope you get all your shopping done. I know you are well-organised with your Christmas preparations, so it will be lovely to sit down with your DS2 to exchange presents. Does that mean you won't see him at Christmas?
Oma, I wonder what caused your back to go again. You have all my sympathy because back pain affects every move you make. Keep going with the heat pad and pills. Poor B. This cough seems to be affecting a lot of people and it's horrible, especially at night when it keep you (and everyone else) awake. Sending hugs to both of you.
Gem, you must be very relieved the cystitis calmed down. I wonder if it was just that one cup of coffee that made it flare up again. Enjoy your lunch with Auntie G. I see she shares her birthday with my GD2!
I have just watched a beautiful pink sunrise and the forecast is for some sun today. Everywhere looks so much better when the weather's nice, even if it is chilly. There was a commotion in our garden this morning - lots of birds milling around chasing each other away, then I remembered I hadn't put any food out for them! We get flocks of goldfinches on the feeders, and some very tame blackbirds milling round, but then the pigeons, crows and magpies come zooming in and cause chaos.
Thank you, Gem. Yes I did sleep well but woke up about 7 o'clock so got up and the house smelled like a curry house so I opened windows and lit candles before the heating got going properly. I never seem to remember to open the kitchen windows while I cook!
Plant, how is the move going?
I hope everyone under the weather has a restful day and starts feeling a bit better.

Hope aunty G has a lovely day ,I bet she really looks forward to her little trips out with you.
Daisy
Even with Windows open the smell of curry lingers, mind you I don't mind the smell ,its meat cooking I can't stand.
Them birds were making sure that you heard their protest, not filling the feeders. 😁
I woke about 2 am with the pain Daisy so no idea , to be honest I'm sick of hearing myself moan about things ,I'm just fed up with feeling unwell lately , one thing after another gets a bit much .
Like everything though it does pass 😁Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning everyone, still cold, but, expect it in the winter!
Gem, I do remember Lowella's Wheelie Beast, I stayed at her house one weekend when we all met up in York, long ago! I do hope your cystitis has gone, I used to get it so often, the strange thing is, after the operation that never worked, 2 years ago, I haven't had cystitis. Enjoy the lunch with your auntie.
I was chatting to a neighbour and mentioned the mobility scooter ban, she said the fire prevention are coming to look at the flat in January as it isn't allowed to leave the scooters in a public place. We got chatting about it as one of the ladies here crashed into another lady while entering the flat yesterday, the other lady fell out of the scooter, she is 86 years old! At the same time she banged the entrance door, that isn't working now, I didn't know all this but got in touch with the cooperation etc yesterday to report it, I expect it will be Monday now before it is repaired. The lady in question isn't safe on her scooter, it isn't the first time she has had trouble with the scooter! I have just had a check on Mr. Google and the authorities are right. What the solution is I do not know.
I was going on the bike to Delft but cold drizzle at the moment.
I am meeting an old neighbour tomorrow in Rotterdam, have I mentioned this? She is coming with a friend on P&O, just the one day in Rotterdam, we haven't seen each other for many a year! I guess 55 years!
I was chatting to a man at the gym, he was doing the exercises I do for my knee, he was saying he has arthritis in his knee's as well as his feet, I told him I have exactly the same, I told him how good the new soles are with carbon under so I can't bend my toes, he was saying he got new soles a few months ago but his feet still hurt so he went to a special clinic, they told him it was arthritis and to wear strong shoes etc etc. He has the same podo therapist as I have so is making an appointment so that they can put the carbon under his "new" soles. Nice and chatty we are at the gym!

Lizzie it's a sign of getting older when we are discussing our ailments with people
Oma, no wonder you are fed up of
feeling under the weather, it gets you down, When B is poorly too its even worse xx
It's a sunny morning here too Daisy.
Funny thing about Auntie Gs birthday.
She was the 7th of 8 children. Born on December 27th. Her father went along and registered her birth as 29th. So, her official birthday is December 29th, but she celebrates on the 27th the day she was actually born!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Oma, I felt like I was never going to be free of pain and then a cold, I hope you and B will be better soon.
Daisy, I don’t have a sense of smell so wouldn’t know if my house smelt of my meals, family don’t comment.
Gemini, I am sure your auntie enjoyed your visit. I expect your GC are getting excited about Christmas.
Busy couple of days here furniture moving. GD1 and her OH’s furniture is now out of my garage so I can now put my car in there. Their furniture is now in the cabin replacing GD2’s furniture. My poor Sil, he must be exhausted moving furniture.
Lizzie have a lovely day with your old friend, I will imagine you will have a lot catching upWhat is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant, I have to smile. Lots of people play, or have played musical chairs, your family do it on a grand scale and play musical houses with real furniture. Very impressive. There's certainly no chance to get bored in your family, but your poor SIL must be exhausted. I think I've mentioned my GD1 has no sense of smell, so when she gets home from school DS2 always makes a point of telling her what he's cooking.
Lizzie, how amazing to see a friend after so long. It's amazing after so much time how you can just pick up where you left off, so to speak. Have a wonderful day with her. I'm hoping to meet up with a friend who I haven't seen for nearly 60 years in the summer. She worked in the Diplomatic service and is now retired. Her OH is German and they live over there, but is coming to the UK this summer. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time with your old friend tomorrow. I'm intrigued by the carbon under the soles of shoes. Does it help arthritis?
Oma, no wonder you're fed up - it's been one thing after another for you just lately. Once Christmas and New Year are over we can start the countdown to Spring. Everyone will feel better then.
I think it would help in the house if I remembered to close the door into the hallway when I'm cooking, but I never seem to think about it until it's too late. Of course I reheated the Dhaal today, so we're back to square one.
Gem, I hope you've had a good time with your Auntie G. I wonder if her Dad got "what for" when he registered her birthdate wrongly. It's not the best of times to have a birthday, is it. My niece/Goddaughter's birthday is the 28th and she says she can never get together with friends because they are always busy with family at that time of year. DS2 and DIL always try and keep Christmas and GD2's birthday entirely separate, but it's not easy.
We've had a lovely afternoon with our niece and her OH. Her OH, T, is a petrol head, so he and my OH went off for a drive in the kit car before lunch. It was really sunny then so they had the roof down. Niece and I chatted over a couple of glasses of wine while I finished getting lunch ready - I was so glad I'd done most of it last night. I'm shattered now, but must just take Eva out for a quick walk before I collapse in front of the television.

Good evening.
We had a good day in town and managed to get what we wanted.
Oma,sorry to hear you are unwell again.
Daisy, not sure if we will see DS2 and DIL over Christmas.
Both of them only have a couple of days off,so i think they are planning on staying home and relaxing.
We will definately see DS1.
Gem and Lizzie, whats the story about Lowella's Wheelie Beast.
You have mentioned it a couple of times.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I rang 111 about B tonight he's really not well being sick and not eating on top of everything else.
They got a Dr to ring back said within a hour but it was only 5 minutes,
Chatted with B and got all his symptoms and said it sounds like flu rather than a cold or virus,
Unfortunately there were no appointments anywhere to see a Dr face to face as they are swamped with people being ill.
All he could suggest was going to the drop in centre at the hospital.
He didn't want to prescribe anything over the phone said B really should see a Dr in person.
DD is taking him in the morning as he hasn't the energy to go tonight.
DD isn't well herself but she would walk on coal for her Dad ,
DG's is on a pub crawl (12 pubs of Christmas) with his friends so won't be able to drive tomorrow.

Oma, poor B, he must be feeling dreadful. If he can't see a doctor tomorrow would it be possible for him to get an appointment with a private doctor? He could be sitting waiting in the drop in centre for ages, and that's the last thing you need when you're feeling ill. Sending hugs to both of you. xxx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Poor B to feel so ill Oma
I hope he can get some help tomorrow . Private GP appointment a good idea too.
Nan2, Lizzie and I met on a slimming forum. There was a lady with ME who used a mobility scooter and always referred to it as her Wheelie Beast. Her forum name was Lowella, and we mostly called her Low. She was quite a character wasn't she Lizzie!?
That sounds a nice evening Daisy.
We had a nice time with Auntie G. Drive out for a pub lunch then back to hers for tea and mince pies. I have seen her social calendar for the next couple of weeks. She has more going on than I do
I have made a pharmacist appointment for tomorrow. They can prescribe antibiotics for cystitis and utis now. It clearly says for women aged 16 to 64 so I may well be refused when I get there. We shall see
Good night everyone xx“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning.
Oma, hope B can be seen by a doctor today.
Gem, hope you can get some antibiotics.
No plans for us today. Oh forgot, hubby wants to tidy something in the garden.
I'll just potter, make sure everything is clean and tidy.
Weatherman just said it will be milder today.
Dinner is chicken and bacon lattice, mash, veg and gravy.
I must remember to add something to our next Asda order.

Good morning Nan2. Good morning everyone.
Thinking of Oma, B and all poorly ones this morning.
My DDs 1 and 3 are both under the weather too.
Apart from the pharmacist appointment I have no other plans. Today will be present wrapping day, and I will gradually add a few decorations to the Christmas tree when the kittens aren't looking

Good Sunday morning everyone. It's a bit damp and drizzly here, but not cold.
Nanto, hello to your green friend, as well. Your chicken and bacon lattice pie always sounds delicious. I think it will be salmon or trout for us today.
Oma, I woke up wondering how B is this morning. I do hope he can get to see a doctor today. I don't suppose either of you got much sleep, but I hope you're ok. How is your DD as well?
Gem, I'm sorry to hear two of your DDs are also under the weather. I hope the pharmacist can give you antibiotics. Are the kittens curious about the Christmas tree - have they climbed into it? I remember DIL's kitten doing that the first Christmas - she thought it was just for her. I bet the kittens will be helping with wrapping presents as well.
I do hope all those who are feeling poorly are getting better. It always seems that everyone goes down with horrible bugs in December.
We're going to do decorations today, and OH will re-clean the landing carpet. The machine leaked the other day and left a tide mark at the top of the stairs, but we had run out of cleaning fluid. We've got some more now so OH will do it when we've got the decorations out of the loft.
I must get the Christmas cards finished today. This last week seems to have been very busy!
