Lizzie, as you know I remember this well. He and my DD3 are the same age and started different Yorkshire unis at the same time . It was shocking at the time and still is. He is so brave.

Plant, I'm sorry today wasn't so good. I hope you steer clear of the tummy bug.

Daisy, I hope you aren't feeling too rotten from your cold . How did the dog training go?

We did go to the coast in the end. The weather was bright and fine so from the farm shop we headed to Scarborough. We mostly stayed in the car but we did get out and take the sea air for a while. Auntie G loved every minute of it.
I think it's many years since she's been to the seaside. It brought back lots of memories for her. We wanted to take her in summer but the weather was never fine on the days we saw her.

Bedtime now. Good night everyone 😴

        Good morning.
The heavens opened last night and it's foggy this morning.

Plant, hope your day is a bit better than yesterday.

Lizzie, your poor nephew. What a rotten thing happened to him.
So pleased he has got his family that are always there for him.

Gem,glad you all enjoyed your trip to the seaside. Lovely of you to take Auntie.

Daisy, hope you're cold isn't too bad.

I've got some lovely slices of roast beef, so I think we will have them with mash, veg and gravy.

Shopping coming between 9 and 10, and hairdresser coming as well.

          Morning Nanto/ ladies that follow

Its so stormy here, lashing rain wind and very dark.

I have another eye pressure test at opticians at 9, not looking forwards to going out in that but we can park very close thankfully.

MIL was in a right mood last night , the hairdresser my niece had recommended had gone in and cut her hair yesterday,
MIL has had a tight curly perm for as long as I can remember,
Well this hairdresser ignored that completely and blow dried it flat with a fringe.

It was dreadful , badly cut too.
MIL said she had no mirror or hair spray , my SIL had sent her a picture of what MIL has but she ignored it ,

So she was fuming after hairdresser had gone and she managed to get into the bathroom to look.

I said it’s not as bad as you think it’s just your not used to it flat, but it was bad,
I managed to rough it up a bit and get the fringe off her face , once she wets it the curls will come back but she couldn’t be bothered last night.

My Twin Nephews who are 27 went in yesterday afternoon and couldn’t stop laughing ,
They have never seen their Nana with flat hair🤣

We managed to get her to laugh about it before we left but I dread to think what she would say to the niece who arranged it.

Just changed Bs dressing took ages to get the old one off slowly and carefully.
It’s healing nicely. A bit of blood but only a bit .

Good morning. Lovely morning here. I’m sitting in bed with a cup of tea looking out across the river to Bideford. It’s so pretty in the sunshine, Had a rough couple of days but feeling brighter this morning, This is our last day here so we are going out to lunch, it will be the first time I have left the house apart from my dash to A & E. just haven’t felt up to it and my hip is still quite painful so can’t walk far. But today I can manage the short distance. The fami,y have been out to some love,y beaches and I’ve been ok here and felt safe. I hope my confidence will return when I’m at home in my own familiar place.

Hope you feel better today Plant.

            Have a good day everyone.

              Good Thursday morning everyone.

Enfys, enjoy the last day of your holiday, hopefully with sunshine all day. I'm sure you will feel more confident at home, but you've had a nasty fall which must have been a huge shock, so be kind to yourself and rest when you need to. xx

Plant, the last thing you need is a tummy bug - I hope you haven't caught it. Take care. xx

Oma, it sounds as though B's hand is healing well - changing the dressing must have been a bit scary though. I laughed out loud at your MIL's hairdressing saga. I know that's unkind - a horrible hairdo is very unsettling - but I can just imagine what she'll say to the niece.

Gem, how lovely that Auntie G enjoyed her trip to the coast. She's such a sweetheart. It's easy for us to forget that some people have very simple wishes which make a huge difference to their lives. You gave her so much pleasure yesterday, and that is very special.

Lizzie, I often think about people who have experienced life changing events like your nephew's son. We hear about such dreadful things all the time, and sympathise even though we don't know them, and then life moves on, and fresh tragedies take over. But victims like this young man carry the weight and problems possibly for ever. I'm glad he's found love and his son must bring him great joy. He's very brave to speak out like this and I hope it might help other men facing similar problems.

I feel guilty mentioning my cold! It's just a little sniffle , but I keep waking up because my nose feels all stuffy. It was better last night, though. Dog training went well and Eva was full of bounce!

We've got friends coming for a meal tonight. There will be 6 of us. Tomorrow we're going on a day's mystery tour to the Isle of Wight with a group from OH's pensioners' club. It's an early start tomorrow and we're due back in Southampton about 7 pm. I'm going to get tonight's food prepped this morning, and OH will take Eva over to DS2's - we'll pick her up on Saturday morning. The weather forecast for tomorrow says rain, but that can't be helped.

Daisy this is what it should look like and what she got, we are still laughing about it 🤣🤣

Been back to opticians, pressure still up in left eye so referring me to the eye infirmary, said it’s not a urgent referral as it’s still within the limits so could take months ,
She just thinks with my diabetes it may be wise to have it checked.

The rain has never stopped lashing down and it’s freezing out there.

Oma, of dear, poor Mil but I quite like her new hair style. Pleased B’s hand is not bleeding still.

Daisy, sorry to hear you have what appears to be the start of a cold virus, I hope it doesn’t develop. Your trip sounds good, hope the weather is kind.

Gemini, the sea air and sunshine will have lifted your aunties spirits.

Enfys, take care when you get home. Must catch up on Word.

Hello again, time for a catch up whilst GS is asleep.
So much rain here today, no golf for OH.

Enfys I'm sure your confidence will return once you are home .

I agree with Plant that your MIL's hair looks good Oma, but it's not her style and I can imagine her reaction!

Nan2, hopefully your hair cut is not a disaster!

I hope the meal is a success tonight Daisy.

Good morning. It's dark, cold, wet and windy.

Oma, all of your MIL's love curls gone. Pleased to say our haircuts yesterday weren't a disaster.

Daisy, how did the meal go?

For dinner im doing one of the beef stews i made the other day. We'll have dumplings with it.

                        No plans for today.

Good Friday morning everyone. It was too late to come online after our visitors had left. All went ok (ish!) and I think everyone had a good time.

We're out all day, but I hope everyone is feeling a bit better, including Oma's B with his hand.

Good morning, Daisy, you are very early!!!!

Nanto, we have the same weather, very windy with thunderstorms during the night. I made beef stew the other week and there is still some in the freezer.

I am "helping" the friend of GD2, GD2 phoned me yesterday to ask the address of the phone man, her friend has a smashed screen on her iPhone, apparently not the first time, so, she can't tell her parents! DS1 told me that GD2 had told her "my nan has a friend" that will repair it for you, it is a shop, she was right, he is friendly!!! I have been in touch and he can do it this afternoon.

I haven't been to the gym this morning, I had the personal trainer again yesterday, I have muscle in my legs I never knew I had so will give it a miss today, that and the wind!

I am going to do coffee for the art group though.

Good morning early birds and others!

Daisy, a busy time, I hope you have a good day, and get some time to breathe over the weekend

Lizzie, your GD's friend will be very glad of you and your friendly phone repairer!

OH made chicken casserole last night Nan2, it was lovely.

                              Bright but windy morning here.
My friend M is coming for coffee this morning.
Instead of the usual Friday routine of GS2 here from school, we will pick him up and take him home today. DD and SIL are going out so we will look after both GC there. DD usually arranges some sort of takeaway for us when this happens.

                              Happy Friday everyone.

Good morning, we are just packing up to go home. I will be very happy to be in my own four walls again. Yesterday was a better day, we went out to lunch and found a real traditional fisherman’s pub in a local village. It was a typical old country pub, nothing fancy but the food was amazing. DD had found some good reviews online so we thought we try it. Lovely views over the sea too. I managed a short walk but then went and sat in the car whilst the other had a good look round. I had my book, and was cosy and warm enjoying the view so no problem for me. I felt much better for getting out so was pleased I made the effort. I’m just very conscious of my battered face though, but hopefully that won’t last too long.

the weather has been really good, just the odd shower so we have been very lucky.

Oma, your mil’s hair looks very nice but it’s hard to see yourself looking different. Suits her though. Hope B’s hand is healing well.

Get well soon to anyone else who is feeling poorly, soon be C………..s!! Oops said the “C” word 🤭
