Evening ladies , I havenā€™t had a chance to get back on today itā€™s been so busy people coming and going ,
My sister phoned first she was on over a hour, then the man came to service the stairlift.

He went and my friend dropped in , they had been to our shopping mall so thought they would come round for a cupper.

They left we had lunch then my elderly neighbour came for some help with her iPad , so she stayed for a cupper.

Then SIL phoned she was in the hospital and the social workers and OT turned up to talk about what MIL will need and get when she goes home ,So she put us on speaker so we could hear and give our two pence worth.

Then it was time for Son in law to pick dog up.
All in all a full day.

Bs hand is sore but ok so far, no more fresh blood.
          Thanks everyone for asking ā¤ļø

No need to dash up save your energy for your games afternoon,
Make sure you have taken pain killers before you go xx

          Enfys
Family see you as they always have so wonā€™t see how this has knocked your confidence,
I must admit we were the same with MIL at first.
just rest and enjoy the peace you donā€™t have to do everything the family do xx

I love stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon, especially if itā€™s stuffed with sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella.

Clover I know what you mean it makes you fearful to step out!

Plant, I hope resting today means board games tomorrow. healing takes it's time doesn't it? xx

Enfys, I don't think younger people do understand how things shake us up more as we get older, and of course healing tends to be slower. You will get there xx

Daisy that sounds an excellent choice for the meal.

Well done Nan2, its great to get some meals in the freezer for another time.

Oma, the library was fairly quiet, but there is always plenty of work for staff and volunteers to do, as well as dealing with the public. GS did not go to school. He was to come here for the afternoon but didn't even do that. I am at a loss how to help him and my poor DD who must be at the end of her tether.
After a dull and drizzly morning we had a bright and sunny afternoon here.

Plant, no wonder you are in such pain. I believe cracked ribs hurt every time you move, so I hope that's not true for you. Are you sleeping ok?

Enfys, it does take us longer to recover from anything as we get older, and it's hard for younger people to understand, but I'm sure your family are lovely and are taking care of you. Sending hugs. xx

Clover, I hope you're right and this is the end of a run of accidents for us all. Are your family all keeping well?

Gem, you feel so helpless when you can't solve problems for those you love. I hope GS1 is getting good support through the school.

I've had a busy day - we needed the heating on to get the rest of the washing dried, but it's all ironed and put away now, thank goodness. The weather cheered up a bit and I did a couple of hours gardening. It doesn't look much different to be honest, but at least I know there are fewer weeds and the edges of the lawn are trimmed! By the time I took Eva out is was nearly 4 o'clock and the wind had got up. It was definitely a bit cooler, but we had a lovely walk. I watched the last night's episode of Nigh Sleeper on catch up, and am just off to bed. Night, night everyone. Let's hope all the poorlies are feeling better tomorrow.

                Good morning.

Such a busy day yesterday for everyone. We had a visit from sis and hubby. They stayed for 3 hours. When we get chatting, time flies.

No plans for us today, but then things can sometimes change.

Jacket potatoes for dinner, requested by hubby. We'll have cheese and beans with them.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. It was raining earlier, but the sun's out now.

Nanto, I know what you mean about time flying when you're chatting. It's lovely, though, isn't it.

We're back in to our usual Wednesday routine. OH is doing car stuff with his Last of the Summer Wine buddies, but not at our house. Eva and I are back to dog training after what seems like a long break. I'm sure she'll be fine - not so sure I will. I've got a bit of a cold which kept me awake last night and I feel tired already!

I look forward to hearing how everyone's day is progressing. xx

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Aquafit this morning. No coffee as both my friends are away.
I probably wouldn't have stayed anyway as we are going out for lunch with Auntie G. We are trying different farm shop. We did consider a drive to the coast after but that depends on the weather. Looking bright right now, but some rain is forecast.

Good morning, we have had a few, very heavy, showers. I go and do the plants on a Wednesday morning so needed my raincoat1

Daisy, you will be pleased that you have got all the holiday washing done. I hope that the training goes well. A lady opposite got a dog a few months ago, then she discovered she had cancer of the lungs, she put an advert in out local paper asking for someone to take him out on the days she had chemo etc, my neighbour has done it a few times, last week the poor lady was admitted to the hospital, she was placed in a coma, my neighbour got a message yesterday that she has died, young, in her 60's. The dog is with family so I hope it can stay there.

Nanto, time does fly when chatting, DB2 phoned yesterday, they go away, again, to Spain on Friday for almost 5 weeks. His wife will be 80 years old the day they arrive in Spain. He was telling me that he called in to see DB1 yesterday, not doing very well at all, he is almost blind but now he has heart problems, he is hoping to get to see the specialist soon, he will be 86 in December.

Gem, enjoy the aqua, we had a good lesson on Monday. Gem, enjoy the lunch out.

Oma, I hope B's hand is improving, I slashed my hand open a few years ago, blood everywhere, in fact, when I got back from the surgery I had to get rid of the trail of blood before DS2 arrived or he would have fainted.

Gem, I do feel for you DD with the problem of school etc, it must be a worry all round.

I made an appointment for GD1 to get her bike serviced here in the village, she rides all over on her bike, mind you, everyone does here!!! She dropped it off on her way to school, I met her for the key then took it to the shop at 9am, he walked past my bike and said " oh, I see it, it needs a new tyre"! I told him that was my bike and there is a story behind it! My neighbour was going to do it, I have asked a few times, I won't bother again, I have the tyre so I asked the man yesterday if they would fit a tyre I already have? He said they don't usually do it as they have the tyres etc in stock, but, as a special favour he will do it for me next week, it really does need replacing, in my younger days I would have done it myself. Then I met GD1 as she left school and went to pick the bike up, he was saying all they had done, as I was paying I thought "oh dear", never mind, it is done now and like new.

I will get myself changed for the circuit training, I want some new trainers for in the gym, I would like them without the thick white sole's, but, very difficult to find.

Enfys, I do hope that you soon feel better,

At least you have all the ironing done and you donā€™t have to keep looking at that thinking it must get done xx

I have just phoned the insurance for my Ebike, I want to pay monthly, the premium has gone up so much in 3 years, she was telling me I have an "extra" insurance, I think I will go for the ordinary one for theft etc, this is all because of me talking to a man during our coffee drinking!

This the story of what happened to my nephews son, 18 years ago today! It is the first time in all those years that he has mentioned it. I heard from my sister, nephew etc so I knew what had happened, today he wrote his story! I cried.

25/09/2006 I attended my ā€˜introduction to social scienceā€™ at Sheffield Hallam University. As I saw it, my adult life was about to begin. I had no way to know it would be the only lecture I would attend at that uni.
Iā€™d moved into my accommodation just a few days before, it was Fresherā€™s week and me and my new house mates decided to venture in to town for a night out. My first night out in a new town!
I woke up the following morning on a sandbank in the river Sheaf, shouting for help and eventually rescued by the fire brigade.
Iā€™d been spiked and targeted, beaten to a pulp and tossed into the river like a piece of trash.
Every year the end of September is tough memories. This year seems particularly so. 18 years on from that 18 year old I was, literally half my life ago. How different would things be today, could things be? Would life be better, would I be a better person, a more successful person? Physically I have minor difficulties daily, but Iā€™m grateful to be able to walk at all.
Itā€™s the mental health aspects of it that are and have always been harder. People think Iā€™m strong, confident, Iā€™ve got my life together and I am people person. I always was, I had to continue to be. But really I have no idea what Iā€™m doing, I overthink every aspect of everything, worried about the consequences of every decision I make, terrified of the confrontation that could be if I got it wrong. Getting to know people and trusting them terrifies me, new people make me anxious.
Iā€™m happier in my life now than I ever have been in the last 18 years, my fiancĆ©e and my son are a huge part of that. They keep me going every day no matter what, nothing gets better if you sit around a dwell on it, you have to get up and get on. Prior to them my family have always been there for me, whatever stupid decisions I made, and Murphy is my rock.
Mental health is a disease and it never goes away, but there are ways to help it.
I hope sharing my story can help someone else. You never know whatā€™s round the corner, you canā€™t prepare for everything. But there is always light, however dark it might feel. Focus on the light and those that bring it and things will get better. There is a lot more help available for men with mental health now a days, please use it if you need to!
