So after telling Gem it was chucking it down in London it turned into bright sunshine. I hope they have both enjoyed themselves.

Husband used a whole load of swear words to put the new blind up not to mention created a whole lot of dust. I said to move the crystal bowls from the window sill and was told no they will be fine. I should just go with my instinct as three times I heard a ping where things had dropped into them but I was not allowed to move them. Bowls are intact, lucky for him. Anyway the blinds are up now and they look really nice, very pleased with them.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow using my BUPA from work. I won’t tell you yet what is wrong but I am convinced my GP is wrong in her diagnosis and I tried to get her to listen to me but she wouldn’t so this is a sort of second opinion.

After the doctor appointment I have a friend coming for lunch. I have olives, little cheese cubes coated in herb olive oil, pimentos, meats like salami etc., salad, quiche, chicken goujons and I have made a cake. My friend is not tolerant of cream so I shall fill the cake with jam and creme Fraiche and I have just realised I forgot to get bread rolls. I won’t have time to go to the shop tomorrow unless I get up really early so I will make some from a mix I have in the cupboard. I was up at 5am this morning to get up to town and am really very tired tonight so really would rather not get up too early tomorrow.

The event at the posh hotel was OK but to be honest for the time and effort it wasn’t worth it. It was about homeless people and a charity which I already work with and I kind of think that if you work with a group of people you do not need to stand up in front of a load of other people who also work with the same group and tell them about it. It would be better had there been people who needed to be persuaded to consider working with those groups if you know what I mean.

Blimey this is turning into a long one! I said about the charity I was donating the bunks and various other items to didn’t I? Well they came and collected while I was on the phone and husband dealt with them. It turns out they take them to car boot sales to flog on behalf of the charity (Mind) and give them the money. Well I am glad the charity gets the money but I would rather the goods were on sale in the shop for people to buy. Oh well it is done now. Hopefully they get a decent amount for the items.

That is it from me except another little moan, football on TV tonight for HOURS!!!! Good grief I am always moaning aren’t I?

Mimi, my headache went fairly soon after getting up.

This morning i swapped things round in the freezers.
I have always kept meat in the freezer that is in an outbuilding adjoining the back porch.
Now it is in the freezer in the kitchen. Alot of stuff from the kitchen freezer is in the other freezer.
Hubby says i will be changing it back next week. Thing is,he might be right.

Zizi - "Journals" is a sub-forum under "Creative Grannies". It's only visible to Members, so if you're not logged in you can't see it (like YEO). It's fairly new so easy to have missed it. On the subject of blinds, my OH got one for his study window some time ago (we're talking years, not weeks) and every so often I remind him it would look much better at the window instead of propped up in a corner!! I know what you mean about the event - it must have been a very expensive way of, in effect, preaching to the converted! I hope you get a proper diagnosis from your appointment tomorrow. There's nothing worse than not knowing, except maybe thinking the doctor has got it wrong. xx

Nanto - I'm always swapping things round in the freezers. At the moment the chest freezer is mostly taken up with dog food, and I can't get at our stuff easily because it's at the bottom. <sigh>

the sun was shining by the time we went out for walkies this morning, but it was a bit chilly. I got some gardening done after lunch - taken out all the old tomato plants and starting weeding the raised beds. I think rain is forecast for tomorrow, which is a shame because I'd like to get on with the gardening, and if it's raining I won't have an excuse to leave the h-------k!!!
