Chilling after braving Cambridge earlier! Had to go to JL to choose curtain poles and confirm curtain choice. What a palaver! However, assistant was very helpful, in fact she went out of her way to help and now we wait measuring up and estimate on Saturday! Had a look at lights for lounge, old ones look dated now it's all freshly painted, but no luck there.
Waiting for MRI scan appointment to see what is causing these headaches. Consultant thinks they're migraine related, but wants scan to make sure. Obviously not caused by HRT as I've stopped them!
May go and pick rest of apples later in preparation for chutney making.....or I may not!

I have just had curtains fitted by JL they were fitted last week Wee Granny A lot of care was taken by the very nice fitter, and not a speck of plaster from the holes. I do not think I will be replacing my lights though we have had them a very long time, I still like them.

Is it only me but I adore the smell of new carpets?

Good morning everyone. It’s horrible in the early mornings now as it is still dark, not looking forward to the clocks going back this weekend.

How is everyone, hope all our ladies who are feeling unwell have a better day today.

I suppose I had better do some ironing today, can’t let Nan2 do hers all alone, us ladies have to stick together.
Also I must tidy up the drawers in my bedside cabinet, can’t open them without seeing odd packets of tissues, pens and a broken Blackberry tablet. Why I still have that heaven only knows.

I managed to to tidy up garden boarders yesterday and after lunch I went for a walk, well when I say I went for a walk what I really mean is I put on my shoes and jacket , went outside, saw my neighborur , spent almost an hour talking to her, came back inside, took off my shoes and jacket and then realised that I hadn’t walked any where!

Good morning all. Just enjoying a cuppa in bed, haven’t drawn the curtains yet so no idea what it’s like outside.

Mimi, love your idea of a walk 🙂.

After this mornings rain, it was quite mild and the sun was shining.
                      Raining again now.

Oma, feet up sounds like a good idea.
Mimi, thank you for not letting me be the only one ironing.

                          EDIT:

I posted this (or tried to) on Monday, and just reading through the last couple of days, it looks as though the world wide web wasn't quite wide enough to include it. So if it is there twice, I apologise. I will be so glad when we get a decent internet connection - although I'm not holding my breathe for it to happen this side of my 90 th birthday!!!

Mimi - I do hope you're feeling better. Have you been to the doctors to see if a change in migraine medication would help. My DIL2 was getting cluster migraines for several years before they found the medication that actually helps her, and she doesn't get many at all now. She used to be very bad at realising when a migraine was starting, but she spots the symptoms better now and takes her medication more promptly, so that helps as well.

Plant - definitely best to walk away from a breeder you don't 'gel' with. DS2 and family were interviewed by the breeder of the puppy they're getting, and the actual puppy is 'allocated' to the people who she thinks best suit the pup's emerging personality! However, this breeder seems a genuine dog lover whose dogs are very much family pets. The right puppy for your family will show up soon.

Clover - yes, definitely remind them you should be having a check up. I'm sure sometimes patients just get 'lost' in all the paperwork.

Gem - I hope your OH enjoyed her golf today. Did you get all your jobs done?

Nanto - I'm glad I'm not the only one not too keen on roast dinners. In fact, I always feel hungry an hour or so later!

Oma - you do make me feel guilty! Our main bathroom floor really needs replacing. It's lino-ty[e stuff which has been down less than 3 years, but it's all lifting and looks horrible. The pattern's discoloured in places and it's rippled a bit too. Plus the radiator/towel rail is leaking slightly, although I put a little container under it so it doesn't seep into the flooring. We need to get a plumber in and get new flooring. In fact now I think about it that bathroom isn't looking at all good!

Qwerty - I bet your cutlery drawer looks like a king among cutlery drawers now! I hope eldest GD is enjoying her trip to London with daddy. I bet her mummy is enjoying it even more. It's not often working mums get a rest of any kind.

WG - Doesn't it take ages to do things like ordering new curtains. What kind of lights are you looking for? When we did our living room last year we looked all over the lights but most of them were so boring, or cost a fortune. then we found some in Dunelm Mill - a bit funky and different, and much cheaper than we'd expected to have to pay. I hope your MRI appointment comes through soon. Did you pick the apples?

Why does the weather always seem to take a nose dive at half-term! We have had rain on and off all day and ended up playing indoors with the GDs. Then we took the girls back to theirs and OH helped to move some furniture around and fix a chest of drawers to the bedroom wall in the girls' bedroom. They were very excited to be sleeping in the re-organised room tonight! It's the same again for me tomorrow - out early, but OH will be out nearly all morning and he will be going to wood turning tomorrow night while I go to dog training.

Good morning everyone. Love the graphic Nanto - that's just how I feel this morning!

After our busy day yesterday this mroning we've got to do some hard work in the garden. Our neighbour at the bottom of the garden is replaing our dividng fence on Friday/Saturday, and my OH has 'hidden' part of his wood store there (wood for turning, that is) and it all needs moving - plus a big lump of marble that used to be our hearth. Goodness knows why he kept that, and I don't know where's he's going to move it to - it weighs a ton! Oh, the joys of living with a hoarder!!!!

Thank goodness it's not raining! If I've got the energy to climb the stairs to my computer after all that manual labour, I'll be back later.

                              Morning ladies hope all are well ;
Daisy don't strain yourself I know how heavy marble is to lift ,
Men and their bits of wood

Well I wanted to go shopping first thing but now we have to wait for the plumber ,
The boiler in the utility has decided to spring a leak , got up this morning and water all over the work top trickling down the front of my washer and a pool on the floor ,
So before could even have a glass of water had to dry all that up put a tub under to catch the water , pull the washer out to dry under it and dry the floor ,

Hope he comes this morning I hate shopping after lunch it gets packed and I always get some weirdo tags onto me , last time a woman hung onto my trolley and told me her life story all around the supermarket

Good morning ladies.Just popping in to say hello. We are at DD's until next Monday so days are pretty full.
GD has arrived safely in New York on school trip and last I heard was in Macey's with a visit to Empire State Building afterwards. They have a packed agenda and she was so excited to be going despite a 4 a.m start to catch the flight. What a wonderful experience for the young people. The majority of them do work hard at school and socially. It's all too often we hear about the bad'uns.
Have a lovely day and if you are feeling under the weather for whatever reason I hope it soon passes.
